He said that they had a $500 minimum and that he expected me to pay everything up front before having an estimate written to submit to the insurance company. I hired JM plastering to change the stucco color of my house (single story house). They took about a week to complete work, and the job came out great for a fair price too. My consultation was over the phone with an unknown male. Im obviously NOT a pro and or have i ever needed this type of service before and so i have no idea on methods/procedures/equipment/material/measuring/pricing etc. He used my Sq footage to give me an estimate since they've "done many walk thrus" they have an idea on the estimates" When I asked about picking the colors for the stucco he mentioned 3 brands (which I've already forgotten) that are normally used and when I get "other bids" I'll see those colors. As to the stone veneer estimate... "that'll be very expensive. If you can give me a Sq footage of how much you want done I can estimate a price". Now I'm sure it's time consuming and costly visiting potential homes/customers but for me first impression and explanation of the job is important.
