WOW Wednesday = a flight of wine + a charcuterie board
    Claire M.

A cozy spot w/ all of the wine you could ever need... My friends and I booked a reservation for their WOW Wednesday where you get a private tasting of 4 wines paired with a charcuterie board. It was the perfect setting for a chill, social evening. We talked w/ the bartender a bit and got to try some really good wine from around the world. They have live music and open mic nights, etc + they have a cute little patio out back. Very cozy atmosphere - I'll be back!

Great wine, wonderful atmosphere, awesome service. My husband and I sat in here for hours with wine and a cheese board because we didn't want to leave. The vinyl records were great to sit and listen to. Truly a hidden gem in Chattanooga

What a TRUE FIND this place is!! Pouring rain before a concert at Soldiers & Sailors, we were running by to find a place for a snack ... looked in the windows.... J Mac's ... we went right in!!! THIS is the coolest place! 5***** Ambiance! The bar has record albums and a turntable... Love it!! The music is great!! Eclectic little private seating areas with sofas and chairs. The owner is awesome. Lovely wine collection and charcuterie boards filled with goodies to please everyone.

The perfect nook downtown to relax with a glass of wine. Great bartender and great service! This is a go-to spot if you're looking to peacefully unwind, have a chill night out with others, or even enjoy a book.

Stopped in for a glass of wine after dinner. Was pleasantly surprised to find fresh truffles from Downtown Dough, which were perfectly paired with a nice Spanish wine. They both were quite a hit! We loved the non-pretentious feel of JMac's. So many times, while traveling we encounter wine snobbery, but not here. The workers are extremely knowledgeable in wine and can direct you to something to please your palette. Looking forward to returning and trying a cheese and charcuterie board.

This bar is a great find! The wine selection is eclectic and delicious. We did not try anything that we didn't like and found some new favorites. The bartender is very knowledgeable and friendly; he was able to recommend choices for flights and tell us a bit about each wine. By the end of the night he knew enough about our taste preferences to make some spot on recommendations for glasses. The atmosphere is fantastic. There is a lot of space to spread out and socially distance while spending time with friends. There are many couches and comfortable chairs and the outdoor patio is very inviting. We will absolutely be back next time we are in Chattanooga.

WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO BRING SOME VINYL AND CHILL-OUT TO SOME GREAT CLASSICS!

If you're in Chattanooga this is definitely a must visit "wine destination spot". JMAC has a well thought out, non-commercial, fairly priced and extensive per pour wine list. Their charcuterie plate selections are amazing to pair-up with these wines. This was a nice surprise to find! Most wine bars seem to be carbon copies of each-other with run-of-the-mill big name producers, typical varitals, "going through motions" wait staff and the ever tired Spotify "cafe jazz" live-streams....NOT HERE! Atop the extensive wine list, the staff are engaging, well versed with these wines and are there to help educate you in the process. Its a fun open environment where you can actually learn about wines while you drink them, kinda like a free wine class with every glass poured. Too the decor is really fun! The bar is full of functional Mid Century Modern pieces which give it that cool, edgy retro "Rat Pack" vibe with all sorts of classic Sinatra, Big Band, Blues music in the background along with an old school turntable and vinyl thats played. So Its like you stepped back in time here. The vibe here is great! Not too "sceny" all different age groups with both locals and visitors. IN SUM Whether you're a local or visiting, this isn't just a wine bar its a destination place.

The ambiance was amazing and the owner had amazing recommendations! Would definitely come back here often and would also like to try their other nights!

Just a great place to hang out

Our date night perfect spot. Walking in the door the weeks stress drops away. Everything about this place makes me happy. We really enjoy the chefs choice charcuterie platter. The music, the location, the vibe and the people are all just spot on. The wine list is excellent, the cheese selections are awesome and I heard tonight they are adding oysters to the menu next week. An intimate yet very social experience that feels like a snapshot from the past. Every time we come here we meet wonderful people. Cannot recommend this spot any more highly. So glad JMacs exists in Chattanooga.

This place is amazing! Definitely recommend stopping here for some glasses of wine and charcuterie. We went in and the staff were able to recommend wines to try which were all great. Definitely make it a stop - and they can recommend anything to do in the city!!

They have another dining area and an outside area too. Hunter was our server and she was great! She had great recommendations and was an attentive, fun person. Our glasses never ran empty. We started with Jalapeno Cheddar Hushpuppies with Spicy Yogurt. My husband had the Smoked Brisket French Dip - Smoked Brisket, Caramelized Onions, Provolone Cheese, Au Jus, French Hoagie with Beer Battered Fries. I had The Motherclucker - Springer Mountain Farms Southern Fried Chicken, Spiced Pickles, Hot Sauce, Duke's Mayo, Niedlov's Bun. Hunter recommended adding Pepper Jack cheese and Bacon, as well as the Brussels Sprouts with Maple & Bacon. Everything was wonderful. There were way too many Brussels sprouts. It also would have been nice if they were cut into smaller pieces. They had a special dessert of Blackberry Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream. This brought back childhood memories of my grandmother's cobblers. My husband had the Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Upon entering we were greeted by warm and friendly staff. Wait time was reasonable (20 mins) and there was a fair amount of seating. There were about 3-4 groups waiting to be seated. We were walked through the establishment and seated at a booth table near the bar. If you are into sports you can see the TVs from just about every seat. The waitress arrived shortly after our seating and took our appetizer and drink order. We started with the Triple B. The fries came out quickly, were hot, fresh and delicious. The drink I ordered was out, but the waitress gave another option, but unfortunately that was out as well. Ended up having an old favorite, Guinness. For our meals we ordered the smoked brisket French dip and the wagyu burger. Upon ordered the burger our waitress informed us there was a shortage of patties and if we still wanted the burger we would get one patty instead of two, but at a lower cost. Both dishes were amazing and we couldn't finish them as both the fries and the entrees were larger in comparison to other places we have eaten. Overall this was a great experience with great food. The only thing we had difficulty with is having to use the phone flashlight to read the menu as the lighting was really dim. Will definitely return if we take another trip here.

It's one of those places that's consistently good and easy to keep coming back to. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. They have a patio area that's not fully outside, but the windows open completely when the weather is nice which makes it feel really open and airy. I actually had my rehearsal dinner here, and the staff was absolutely amazing and so accommodating throughout the whole process. Food-wise, I love, love, love their Italian chopped salad. The dressing is so good and it's something I end up ordering every time. They also offer pizza by the slice, which I like because they always have specific slices available plus a rotating "home slice" each day, they're also pretty generous size wise. The slices are good, but ordering a full pizza is definitely better because it comes out fresh. Another thing I really like is the adult fried cheese appetizer, which is basically like a spicy pepperoni and cheese egg roll and it's really good. Parking is typical for downtown. There's street parking or a lot across the street. Most of it is paid parking except for nights and Sundays. Overall this is one of my go-to spots in Chattanooga and somewhere I always recommend when people ask where to eat downtown.

We tried a few beers from Five Wits and per her recommendation got the creamsicle shake as well. Solid beverage choices. The shake tasted part float part milkshake and it was absolutely delicious. Would order again. The food on the other hand was a bit eh. We ordered the Asian q burger and the mushroom melt burger and it took quite a while for them to come out and when they did they had unfortunately been left on the grill for way too long and were charred and crunchy. One set of our fries was cold and the bun to burger ratio was extremely off. Luckily, the staff agreed that our burgers were accidentally overcooked and they remade them no questions asked. The remade burgers were moist and better but still not fantastic. They were just burgers with minimal toppings on them. Not really seasoned and the flavor came from the toppings themselves. The buns were still too big for the burgers so there was a lot of extra bread and they have potential to be great but they were just average. Would have probably been a three star review but the staff and drink selection really earned the extra star. Would go back to drink and maybe snack but probably not order a burger.
