So far terrible experience for my mom. She called to have her sliding door handle repaired. The tech arrived late, he did not repair it, but took her handle with him to try to find a replacement. She scheduled a follow up appt. The appt window for the follow up appointment was 2-3 hours. My mom waited for the tech to arrive. He never came and he never called to say he wasn't coming. She contacted the office to request her handle be returned. Excuses were made for why the tech didn't show up and she was told that her handle was in his truck and unavailable. She has now made several requests by phone and in person to get her handle returned to her. To date, Sliding Solutions has still not returned her handle. We called Sliding Solutions because our window hinge seemed broken sanked. They arrived after a few days. While trying to open the window, the technician broke the glass of the window. To our surprise, the company didn't apologize or even contacted us. When we called, they said that if we want them to fix the glass and get the window back to where it was before they came, we need to pay upfront $425 for the glass (they mentioned few times that we should appreciate that they didn't mark up the cost of the glass) plus $498 for labor. $923 to get us back where we started - without fixing the original problem! read more

In 2019 i finished my home in Laguna Beach. Windows and installation cost close to $300,000. Done by JMI. The issues have been numerous since then, and the after service due to faulty installation has been like pulling teeth. Currently I am down to one window that will not stop leaking. Here we are 2024 the problems never cease I have been promised the moon but nothing occurs. it is a month now since I was promised that someone called Edgar would come out. I get lovely emails telling me someone will take care of the leak, but then silence. I am concerned that this window leak will lead to other significant issues in the house. I spoke with Dani, the office manager, who scheduled Landon and Christian to come and measure the doors. They came on schedule AND exactly on time. They even called to say they would be there at the time scheduled. I've spent many hours waiting for tradesmen who give you a time slot, like 9-12, which is understandable. So how cool is it the Sliding Solutions manages to come AT EXACTLY the time they are scheduled? Sliding Solutions gives you a time and come at the time they give you. In all, at two separate locations (close together) Landon and Christian came to my properties a total of 4 times, all on schedule and on time. The new doors are marvelous! The guys are polite, professional, and efficient. The product is top drawer. Landon also noticed a glass sliding door handle that was not working properly. This handle was original hardware in 1985~! Landon tracked down this handle, ordered it, and when it came in, replaced the handle with the same great service, and on time appointment. We have very expensive but aging Fleetwood windows, which supposedly have a lifetime guarantee, lol. They only have a lifetime guarantee if you get them cleaned every 3 months by Fleetwood certified window cleaners - something your contractor may neglect to mention. Anyways, we were having trouble with our window cranks on 2 special windows. Fleetwood referred me to Justin Mayall, the owner of Sliding Solutions. He seemed surprised by my call, but said that they could fix my windows and had me call his company office. I spoke to a nice young woman there, sent her pics of the problems - it was not just the cranks, one windows lock wasn't working correctly. She said that someone would come out to check out the windows and provide an estimate. Alphonso (I think that was the name) came out, maybe a few days, maybe a week later. Alphonso was very nice. Knew that the cranks on 2 windows and the lock on one was not working and said that he needed to order the parts. I am unsure of the time frame because this issue now has been dragging on for months. I was given an estimate ($750). I paid half of it to have the parts ordered. I was told once the parts were in that someone would call me to put me on the schedule. Weeks went by, no call. I started calling them. The office manager had quit and the office seemed in chaos and still seems in chaos. Finally, someone told me the cranks were in and I would be put on the schedule. I was given a date. No one came. I called again. Oh, there was a mess up, they forgot to write it in the calendar. I was given another date by another new person. Finally, had the cranks installed which were NOT like the cranks I had previously and seemed much cheaper. However, they work and at this point, I settled for that. They didn't have the part for the lock. (Surprise, surprise or the pin/screws for the screens which I had also requested.) The young men, Landon (?) and Alphonso were very nice and seemed to know what they are doing. It was old that the lock would be ordered and then when it was here I would be "put on the schedule" again. Again, no call and after a few weeks, the process repeated. I am calling weekly and extremely frustrated. The people are nice and pleasant. Justin must be out of town and on vacation or something. Certainly does not seem to care about his business. At this point, I don't know what to think of Sliding Solutions but I would definitely no recommend Fleetwood windows. At least if you used a different window company, you would have more choices in who could repair the windows and maybe a warranty that actually meant something. BTW, I have some Fleetwood screen doors that need to be repaired. I was told that Sliding Solutions does not "repair screen doors," they just "replace them." Geez. Guess I'll be looking around for another company to do that or have the doors brought somewhere to be fixed. I'm still hopefully that I can get the lock fixed. I am using a temporary fix right now, but basically just keeping the window locked shut. read more

We had the Sliding Solutions guys out today. We were afraid our difficult slider would need a new handle (which is no longer available in our color), or worse, the entire door would need replacing. After inspecting the mechanism, they determined it just needed some lubricating. They took the handle apart, sprayed some silicone in the lock and it worked like new! The day of the appointment nobody ever arrived and I called the office after the time frame was up but only got the answering machine. The next day I went to their address in Oceanside to see if I could order the track system and she said they didn't have parts there but would send a guy out later that day. He called and let me know he was on his way, he came in and measured and said he would send an Estimate via email. Never received an email so I found somebody else. I had a handyman come try and fix them about a year ago, but he did not have the necessary parts and was not familiar with what exactly needed to be done. The previous owner of my condo had the door from the pocket door removed (no idea why) so I contacted Sliding Solutions to get the door replaced. They sent out someone to take the measurements and quoted a price for the job in line with other quotes I had gotten. The job consisted of removing the old track and replacing it with a new one and handing the new door, complete with the pulls and hardware. Since a pocket door disappears into the wall, most places told me they would have to remove a portion of the drywall and restore the wall at the end. Sliding solutions has a way of removing the old track, installing a new one and hanging the door without breaking into the wallboard. This means that I won't have to repaint the wall. The job was scheduled and they completed the job in an afternoon. They were professional and cleaned up the work area after themselves. I have some heavy dual glazed sliders that were getting really bad and hard to open it were cleaned several times but it just continue to get worse! I hired Sliding Solutions in mid-2016 to re-adjust and repair five (5) pairs of sliding mirrored closet doors, each one five-feet wide. So, they did ten doors. And they did them very well. Fast forward to the end of 2017, one of those ten doors was "off". I tried to adjust it myself but, of course, was unsuccessful. They were very skillful from start to finish even cleaning up the last speck of debris before they left. I highly recommend this crew! Update 2018- Their work is guaranteed for a year. A year had passed and I started to have a few minor quirks that needed to be corrected. Sure enough, within hours, two employees ( one of them may have been the owner of the company) were at my home and spent about 20 minutes doing the minor repairs. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. One of the worst contractors I have ever hired. Nine months ago I had them replace a simple sliding screen for my patio door. They came out and measured the opening and ordered it from MilGaurd. They came out to install it and it did not fit. They had measured it wrong. Remeasured and reordered and came out to install. THIS TOOK THEM 7 WEEKS. Dog subsequently broke the screen so hired them to replace it again. Once again, they ordered the wrong door, then broke it at their shop once it arrived so had to reorder. Now on week 6 to get this done with no end in sight. Also, they rarely return phone calls. Previous reviews seemed to be ok so I guess they have GONE SERIOUSLY DOWNHILL. read more

My 30-year old house had water leak through one sliding patio door when it rained hard, and some other issues with sliding doors and windows due to wear and tear. My wife and I were inclined to have a complete retrofit performed on the 20 sliding doors and windows, however, Ryan was able to diagnose and repair/replace only what was required to keep the existing hardware in good working condition.
