I came here today to have two half-dollar sized cracks repaired in my windshield. Scheduling an appointment online was easy and I was able to get an appointment within a day. When I arrived for my appointment, I was informed that the technician would be there shortly. 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment, no technician is in sight. The receptionist was not exactly helpful as she was making multiple personal phone calls while I was waiting, and didn't provide me with an update on the technician's arrival or any apology about the delay. Thankfully, one of the other technicians Andres noticed I had been waiting a while and was able to repair the crack quickly. Not all of the crack was able to be filled and he informed me that the crack may grow over the winter, but seeing as this is my first experience having a crack repaired, I'm not sure if that's atypical or not. read more

My windshield was cracked and needed to be replaced. Scheduling an appointment was easy and they took care of working with my insurance. However, I had to return multiple times and was frustrated with the quality of service. The first new windshield replacement they installed had a large scratch down the middle of the driver-side, which I noticed as I was driving off the lot. I returned and asked them to look at it. They determined it couldn't be buffed out and the whole windshield had to be replaced again. Stuff happens; I get it. I came back again next day to have it replaced a second time. Fortunately, they replaced it under warranty at no cost to me given they installed a damaged product. During the second visit, the windshield replacement went smoothly but when I left, my windshield wipers weren't working. I went back inside moments after walking out of the office and was told they were now closed and no one could take a look to see what the problem was. They said I would have to come back again tomorrow to have it looked at. It was only a couple minutes after 5 and a number of staff were still there who could have easily looked and reconnected the hoses (which turned out to be what was wrong) without making me take more time off from work to come back a third time. I was able to reconnect the hoses myself later after some handy YouTube videos but I was disappointed with the level of service and their disrespect for my time, especially when the issues were caused by their technicians. So.. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I (well, my car) got rejected for my/it's state inspection. So depressing. I guess a crack in the windshield is a big no, no. Oops. I googled auto glass places in Brighton and JN Phillips came up right away. I called and was directly connected to a representative. No awful button pushing. They scheduled something right away - and were extremely helpful. My car looks great and the technician came right on time. He was really nice, flexible, and speedy! I couldn't believe that it only took him 25 minutes. I'm about to go back to the gas station to show them who's boss and pass that inspection! Thanks JN phillips! I am a customer for life! read more

I just spent almost an hour trying to get in touch with this shop. On my first attempt, I spent 22 minutes on hold listening to music. I thought maybe there was something wrong with their answering system, so I called the national number and was disconnected twice. Then I tried the Brighton location again and decided to use their option of leaving a message so they could call me back. When I pressed 1 to leave a message, as instructed, I was disconnected. Tried two more times. Disconnected twice more. Called Rich at A+R Glass who picked up on the first ring and made an appointment for him to come replace my windshield in about 90 seconds. DO NOT GO HERE!!! They replaced our back passenger window. In doing so, they scratch the window behind it, the chrome trim and paint job...in a very defined area. When I brought the car back, the technician who worked on my car denied any responsibility. I noticed his shoulder lined up with the scratched area. He explained they never rest anything against a car. I peeked in back where the repair shop is and saw a large new windsheild propped up against a car---I thought they never did this??? His manager came out to tell me they take no responsibility. My car is 4 months old and is now scratched because of them. They do not stand behind their service. Stay away!!!!! I will never go back. I had a chip in my windshield for several months and after moving to the area, decided to get it fixed. Found JN Philips was nearby so drove over last Friday to see if I could get it fixed. The front desk was very helpful in getting in touch with my insurance ( I didn't even think of checking with them, turns out I was covered) and within a few minutes, Brendan was working on the repair and I was ready to go in 25 minutes. Hopefully I won't need to go to an auto glass shop again anytime soon, but if I did, I'd go right back down to JN Philips. read more

Madeline said I was all set for an appointment today and took about 20 minutes to gather my information for some asinine reason. Also heard every bite she took of her food during the call(repulsive). Service never showed up today, 6/9/18. When I called to see if they were still coming, Madeline lied worse than CNN and said that I never made an appointment. Learned my lesson, alway use Safelite.. Settle in, kids, because this is a SAGA. Tuesday night on my drive home from work, a construction vehicle on 495 kicks up a piece of gravel, and by the time I get home, the impact point had sprouted a crack right in the middle of my field of vision that ran from the driver's side edge to the middle third of the windshield. My commute is 60 miles each way, and my husband's is like 8, so we switched cars and on Wednesday morning I call my insurance agent and they refer me to JN Phillips. Wednesday morning, I spoke to Darlene, who set me up with an appointment between eight and noon the next day. Rather than risk driving even his short commute with a badly damaged windshield, my husband takes Thursday off and figures he will work a half day in the afternoon once the replacement is made. Thursday morning, 90 minutes into my appointment slot, I get a call from Chris at JN Phillips, confirming my appointment... for 10 to 2 the next day. He says there is no record of my original appointment, which I had double and triple checked while on the phone with Darlene the day before. I'm frustrated, but I chalk it up to human error and accept the new appointment. My husband is frustrated to have to take a second day off, but really, we're just lucky his job has that kind of flexibility. Friday morning, I call to confirm my appointment and double-check the amount I was quoted. Everything seems normal. And then at 1 pm, my husband texts to say they're not there yet. Well, the slot is until 2, we'll wait it out. And still, no one shows up. At 2:10, I call to check on the tech status. Eventually I find out that the earliest the tech can be there is 3 PM - at which time, no one will be home because we made time between 10 and 2, not noon and 4, and the rest of the day is occupied. When I call the customer service center, I express that I am appalled at how they've handled this, and all I get from Chris is a whiny, disaffected non-apology. My husband has taken TWO DAYS off of work to wait for them not to show up, and if we waited around for them to hopefully show up on Monday, that would be day number 3. The loss of income is incredible, and they can't even be bothered to offer a 10% discount for the trouble. I'm taking my business elsewhere, and I've advised my insurance provider to do the same. TL/DR: Customer service was awful, tech never showed, and my husband took 2 days off of work for nothing. read more

Yesterday I was with a co-worker who was having a windshield install in her vehicle in our workplace parking lot. First she never received any notification that they were actually out there working on her vehicle. Second when we did approach the two workers they did not even acknowledge us so we ended up walking away. on our return walk we approached them again she announced to them that it was her car they did not seem to care she asked if they had any paperwork she needed to sign he handed it to her and briefly said no car washes for 48 hours and that was all. I thought this was incredibly rude of them and poor customer service. Maybe my expectations are higher than your average customer since I work for a company who exceeds at customer service. Needless to say based on my co-workers experience yesterday I would not be looking towards your company for my glass replacement needs. read more

My wife is reluctant to take her car in to the mechanic because of several bad incidents over the years. I was stuck at work and had to ask her to take her own car in this time. They were all nice but could not do anything for me until Monday when they could get my suv's windshield glass for the tailgate. Then I called JN Phillips in Brighton. Kayla asked me to wait while she would check to see what they could do. She said if I get down there now, about 9:30/10AM they could take care of it and repair it today. They close at 12Noon. When I got there the service tech thanked me for getting there so quickly. I have to tell you the glass was in a million pieces and they vacuumed it all up for me and fixed the windshield the same day. I thanked him because it was so much easier than having to deal with it Monday. He said and what would you have done tomorrow because it's supposed to rain. I've been to these guys twice in a 3 month span - chalk it up to Boston roads and our crazy salt and rock saturated roads. Both times these guys were quick, easy, and extremely flexible. The best service I have received in a very long time. A rock hit our windshield well over a month ago while we were traveling. We are insured with Allstate and when we filed a claim online we automatically were connected with Safelite in Newton. Fancy confirmation email and stated they would file the claim with Allstate. Great - easy. We book the appointment, drive to Safelite and they had ordered the wrong windshield. This happened *3* times. Me or my husband driving there each time. Last time, very apologetically the manager said, we will get this straightened out and call you next week. They never called us. So, two days ago I called Allstate - there was no claim filed. So filed the claim on the phone and asked for a list of providers. They gave me JN Phillips Auto Glass first because of the location. You know where I'm going with this but I called them immediately Monday at 10 AM. The customer service person (Tanisha who I heart) was asking me questions to determine what kind of windshield glass we needed (there's a camera, sensory in it, etc.). I gave her the VIN number because she needed to call the dealership to see what window our model required and she would call me back that afternoon with status update. Which she did. She informed me they had the information from the dealer - it's a more expensive window and she needed approval from Allstate and she would call me tomorrow morning with the update. I didn't hear from her in the morning. Instead I heard from her in the afternoon letting me know they ordered the window, had the window and when could I come in which was this morning. 48 hours - done. P.S. I asked them how long I would be there - they said about an hour. I was happily sitting in Boston traffic 55 minutes later. Boom. read more

This was my first experience with a windshield replacement. I am thankful I visited the Brighton location of JN Phillips. I went for a windshield replacement because a prior windshield that was put in just 6 months ago was a faulty installation. The manager, Dan, gave my existing windshield a thorough look and explained everything to me before beginning work. He then documented the problems with my prior installation (done out of state by a different company) to help me when I called my insurance company. Finally, he gave me a summary of what he did and explained the warranty to me. Not only was the quality of the work excellent, but the customer service experience was as well. The other technician even offered to pick me up a cup of coffee. If I ever need additional glass work or if anyone I know needs glass work, I will definitely recommend the Brighton location of JN Phillips. Thanks Dan! read more
