terrible service. i show up at 4:45 to get an inspection and the person running. The front desk tells me that they cannot complete my inspection because the inspection person does not work after 5 o'clock. Last time I checked 445 is before 5 o'clock... on top of that, I am a reoccurring customer who doesn't leave without making sure the person who works on my vehicle is tipped. Been here a few times to get maintenance done so it made sense to bring my car here for the NYS inspection. Called the day before and was told that a 2018 car would be $10 to inspect (sounded fishy but I have had good experiences here so what the hell). Brought my car in, handed over the keys and was told once again that a 2018 would cost $10 (how great and cheap is that?). And then... I was handed a $37 bill. I questioned it was $10 from the beginning and thought it was a mistake. Then was told, "OHH, thought you said 2019." I couldn't have been more clearer that it was 2018. I paid the bill since the necessary service was done but had to do it via debit since I brought $20 in cash. The guy behind the counter didn't seem too happy about the debit and sarcastic said that apparently he didn't know how to do his job, didn't know the right prices, etc. I don't care much for that but making a quick buck through dishonesty is why I will never come back again. And.. grease stains were left on the interior material of my car which shows they do not care about giving your car back the way it was first given. read more

Normally no issues with this place but my mother who is not a native English speaker went there to purchase a battery for a remote entry car key. The guy charged my mom $20!!! Normally these batteries are $5 a pop which is what my mom paid last time for her car key battery. The worker claimed to overcharge because he "helped" my mother change the battery which she never requested. She tried to argue with him in her decent English and he won't budge. He claims "you didn't ask me not to change the battery for you!". How could my mom have said anything when he did this in the back of the story away from the counter??? This just makes me so upset because I know for sure it wouldn't have happened if she wasn't a little Asian lady! It's not right that the worker who represents this business acted in an unprofessional and obnoxious manner. NEVER going to this business ever again! P.S. I recently went to Jo Jo's Tire service on a Saturday without an appointment. I had a screw in one of my rear tires and was worried about getting a flat. I didn't wait very long for the young man to have me move my car into one of the bays so they could check my tire. He checked for leaks and found none and was able to remove the screw without the need to repair my tire. Apparently, the screw did not penetrate deep enough to actually puncture the tire. They sent me on my way without charging me anything. The next time I near a tire repair, I will definitely go here again. read more

Came here around noon for a flat tire to be fixed. Wait was supposed to be 30 minutes, instead it was almost an hour and 30 minutes. I can't really comment on their mechanical part of the business, but they are always busy. The prices are very high for the work they do but customers still show up. I'm assuming the work is done properly. I would only come here in an emergency. read more

Been coming here for most of my auto needs, since moving from Brooklyn4 years ago. They've always made the repairs and are service minded. They'll let you hang around and wait for your car, which was never the case in bklyn. Also, they have huge widows looking into the repair bays, which gives the impression of transparency ....also a no-no in most places. I went there yesterday morning, after spending the weekend at the home of my elderly, widowed mother-in-law, to get air in my left front tire, assuming a slow leak. After making it to the automobile dealership where I work, in Hudson County, NJ - as the Finance Director - I had the tire "fixed" by my service department. Unfortunately, the one "plug" installed didn't resolve the issue of a second hole, in close proximity to the one "repaired" by my dealership. I left the dealership, late last night, only to watch a progressive reduction in the PSI reading for this tire, en route to revisiting Tottenville, Staten Island. So, after going through a couple of cans of "Fix-A-Flat" and three stops to put air in the tire, on my way to the palatial home of my "better-half's" affluent family and spending the night there for the "umpteen hundredth" time, this morning I drove to Jo Jo's on Page Avenue. All of the men working there were friendly and efficient. The technician who fixed my flat tire, with a properly installed patch, was in the midst of patching the tire on a Mercedes-Benz when I arrived. He rapidly completed that repair. Then, he took care of patching my tire, all within approximately 25 minutes. I am glad my unfortunate experience, with my own dealership's service department, didn't happen to one of my customers. I'm equally glad that I had Jo Jo's in my mother-in-law's neighborhood, to go to when I needed a quick and professional repair, on the spot and with no fanfare and zero aggravation. Anyone who would think that $17 for a properly-done tire repair is too much, in my opinion, is clueless. These people are friendly, efficient, and competent. What more could anyone ever hope for? I strongly recommend anyone in this area of Staten Island, who needs automotive repairs or tires, to give Jo Jo's an opportunity to make them a fan. A generous tip - to the technician - was clearly called for, in my case. Now, I know why - every time I drive by 125 Page Avenue - Jo Jo's always appears to be "busy" with a car, truck, or SUV on every lift and several vehicles in their parking lot. Apparently, they do a lot more than fix flat tires, with the same high level of professionalism and friendliness that I experienced, for a host of people who come to them with a wide variety of "mechanical issues" that need immediate attention. read more

I called to see if they can take a look at a car I was planning on buying before I sign the paperwork from the moment he pick up the phone he had an attitude. I asked how much is it for a general inspection of the vehicle 2015 Nissan altima he says very snobbishly well doesnt that depend on how long we look at the car? I called five other shops and got prices ranging from $30 to 50. How hard is that to say over the phone? After writing this review I searched them on Google found out the owners we're smuggling cocaine and the two sons were heavily addicted to drugs and sent to prison as well as the owner. Very disappointed since I was a long time customer. Noticed a big decline in service over the past year. Last inspection in June I was failed and they removed my old inspection sticker so i couldn't drive the car but a would not leave my car. I took my car to a trusted mechanic in my car club and he told me I failed since I installed a new battery and the computer needed to be reset after 100 miles of driving in which Jo Jos should of known. Also he said the they should of given you an 30 day extension which they didn't. As such I needed to borrow a car for work. And drive my car over 4 weekends just to put mileage to reset the computer for passing inspection and risk getting a ticket (driving without an inspection sticker or extension). This year at jo jos has been a total nightmare for me as mentioned in this and my other post, never again. read more

Got beat on a battery warranty return from Jo Jo's. Bought a Delco 78 month professional battery there in 2012, it wont hold up to starting my car. They put it on a charger for an hour, and then the tech hooks up a digital load gauge / device and says the battery is good. Put it under load for 2 seconds and says it fine. Then he says there is drain in my car that's causing the battery to run down. The tech also said the battery had a 2 year warranty when it actually had a 50 month replacement warranty. Bought a new battery at Costco, works fine where the Delco failed to hold a charge. Been a customer at JoJo's for many years. Would never go back again for anything. read more

On Saturday June 23rd I called Jo Jo's for an estimate for a repair on an oil pan gasket for my 2015 Jeep and the gentlemen on the phone rudely told me call back on Monday I do not have time to help you and hung up on me. I called Jeep in Freehold and they were able to give me a price immediately and I know the pricing is higher but it will be well worth it, because I know I will have a good customer experience. Another typical Staten Island experience, no wonder it's called the armpit of NY.. I called prior to coming to this establishment for a motorcycle inspection.. I can't get there during the week, so the weekend is the only time I'm able to get there. When I called the gentlemen which I'm being extremely nice about calling this person a gentleman because he was the complete opposite of a gentleman, he tells me they only do inspections from 9-10am. I get there at 9:45am asked if I can get my inspection the guy at the counter I'm assuming is the same person that I spoke with over the phone because he spoke to me in the same arrogant manner the person on the phone spoke to me, and sharply just says NO. I said but I called I thought you do them till 10 he began to say, "so we've had enough for the day" with his tough guy attitude "and we are done" I say ok thanks and leave. I'm sorry Mr. JoJo a little common courtesy would go a long way. It's bad enough you only do inspections for one hour for motorcycles and don't even give the consumer the full hour to get there in time. I'm sure if I was one of your pals you would have made the extra time. Poor customer I will never go back. read more
