Very dismissive. I felt I was rushed and treated like I don't know anything. The owner is so unhelpful and I had to take my car somewhere else for fixing a small part. I was having such a rough day, especially as a healthcare worker, not knowing if my car is safe to drive. Anything I asked him about the car, he responded "I don't know". He was very short tempered and I felt like he just wanted to take my money and get rid of me. People may forget what you said, may forget what you did, but will never forget how you made them feel. If I could give zero stars I would. I brought my 02 Chevy Blazer to them that I bought brand new.. it was in near perfect condition.. I had 54,000 original miles on it. They didn't hook the oil lines correctly to the engine block. After spending $800 on an oil leak repair.. Two days later driving home from Brooklyn.. the hoses let go and my engine seized. They wanted to put an engine with $120,000 miles on it with a 90 day warrantee. I had to pay for rebuilt engine.. which took 6 weeks to do.. meanwhile he would not refund my $800. He said I shouldn't be driving the car. When I went to get my personal belongings during week one, he left the oil pan on my front seat. He destroyed my car then was treating it with disrespect. To put salt in the wound.. he gave it back to me with the fuel light on. He totally devalued my car.. no more matching #'s.. and in the life of the old engine.. I never saw a low fuel light come on. I never went below half. He did nothing to make up for all I went through. Struggling to go back and forth to work.. or even going to the grocery store. I got my car today We'll see how he honors this warranty and I have to get a synthetic oil change in 500 miles.. on me. If you want to be treated like crap and your time and money doesn't matter. Phil took care of me instantly without an appointment for a car inspection. We talked briefly about my military service and he ended up taking care of my inspection without charge. If you knew Phil and his work ethics you wouldn't even question my 5 star rating. He is a true gentleman and so is his staff. They will stop what they are doing to answer a question to help out. You will get a quick appointment and a job done right. I found him by word of mouth from another very reputable business and I'm glad I did. I realize many people post reviews when they are ticked off about something but to be honest dealing with Phil there's no way you should ever be ticked off because he HONESTLY makes things right. After having an alignment done, drove home, found the front wheel shaking and vibrating. Wasn't that way when I started, so I went back, they recommended I replace tie rods. Replaced them, went back to Joes and paid for a second alignment, took the car out, now the car is drifting to the right, bad. Went back, they said the car cannot be aligned because the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. Took the car to a different shop, they aligned the car perfectly. So it was 3 visits to Joes, total 220 bucks for alignments, 50 bucks in tips to the guys. I gave a call and explained my story to the owner, his reply? "I don't know what to tell ya". The owner of the shop doesn't know what to tell me. We had a polite conversation. He didn't ask me "what can I do to make things right"? Just blew me off. Between Joes and the second shop it cost 370 bucks for an alignment. Oh, and I don't need a new rack and pinion. Will I go back to Joes again? Can I recommend this establishment to family and friends? Not with the owners philosophy of "good customer relations" and customer service I can't. Will I recommend the 2nd shop who did the alignment? The guys who aligned it, AND took it for a quick road test before turning the car back to me? How did Joes guys align me with bad tie rods and bad rack and pinion? Maybe it would be a good idea if Joes guys took the car out for a quick spin before declaring the car aligned and the job successfully completed or nah? read more

These traits are clearly very important, but especially to a single woman. I get fair estimates, high quality work done on the car, and a reasonable bill. Phil and Vinny are patient and pleasant guys who will take time to answer your questions directly and honestly. They go the extra step to build a trusting relationship. Get your oil changed here - they're really thorough and will gently note things that might need attention. The turn-around time is good, and the mechanics there have also been reliably pleasant and willing to answer questions. stay far away. i bought a vehicle here. was told, "you will not have to do one thing to this car." well thousands and thousands of dollars later to repair one thing after the other it is hard to believe anything one is told at this place. my car spent more time IN the shop than on the road... I had been looking for a good auto repair shop since I moved to Staten Island 5 years ago. I went to Pep Boys, because I didn't know any better, and they were awful. So, when two independent sources that didn't know each other, said Crazy Joe's was the place, I knew I'd found my spot. Phil was the guy I was referred to, and he couldn't be nicer. I explained my money situation, and after he did a full examination, we had a long chat about what needed to be done, and what could wait a couple of months. It was the first time someone understood my situation and wasn't looking to gauge me later. He went above and beyond, when I forgot to leave my number, he drove my car to my house after work had been finished on it, and I drove him back to the shop, and finalized payment.
