Fizzy~~~(This Has Got To Be The Tastiest San Pellegrino Drink So Far)

We've been coming here on and off since the early 2000s. And as the only Pizza joint off the Taconic Pkwy, Jo Jo's has saved us many times- including stretching our legs after driving a little over an hour and a half from home. I'm not sure if Jo Jo's menu is stacked with Italian shrimp dinners, pastas or chicken parms- because we've always stuck to slices- plus these guys have Ice Cream also. Even when I did eat cheese, Jo Jo's slices were ok. And aside from the crust- the combination of cheese and sauce was alright. The crust itself though is different and we both questioned if the specks on it were breadcrumbs or coarse cornmeal. I asked the guy if he could make a slice for me without cheese and said no- however... he 'could strip the cheese from one'. No thank you. Maybe I'm looking too much into things, but seemed like I got some non-verbal heat after that- because he flicked the pen and receipt for hubs to sign- and slammed my husband's card when hubs actually handed it to him. But based on past reviews- it's not me man.....it's you. Destination-worthy? I think so. Because for Jo Jo's being in the boondocks, this is slightly as close as you're gonna get to an old-school slice in The Bronx. But listen...aside from the pizza, I'm not asking to be entertained or roll out the red carpet for me- but damnnn- basic, common courtesy really goes a long way.

    Plain and margherita. So good!!!

This is my favorite by the slice pizza joint in the Hudson Valley. Their crust is light and crispy, sauce is just delicious canned tomato and fresh mozzarella cheese (especially on the Margherita slice). The family that owns this place is extremely kind, their kids often bring out your salad or slice on the weekends and it's just overall a great place to eat and support. Their soups are also delicious and homemade desserts are to die for. Don't let the ambiance fool you - this place is great.

Meh. It's all very meh. The plain pizza is edible, but it does not satisfy pizza hunger. The people are nice, though!

I feel a little disingenuous giving 4 stars, only because we only tried the pizza, but the pizza…read morewas good! The crust was so pillowy and soft, but with nice flavor. We did ask for it to be "well done" and it came out perfect, so I wonder if the "regular" cooking leaves it less crisp on the bottom, or if my grandma is just weird and orders it that way. We got 3 "fancy" pies, but I found them to be a little pricey. When you're the only game in town, you can do what you want. I hope to write an update with other foods tried, but for pizza, Tower is perfectly serviceable.

My first time here. I was in Pine Plains and in the mood for a chicken parm sandwich for dinner. I…read morewas surprised by the breadth of the menu here, but I knew what I wanted. The negative is the chicken was in breaded chunks which I've experienced before, which I assume were frozen. Does not have the flavor or mouthfeel of a freshly fried cutlet. The sauce and cheese were fine. The highlight was the bread. Best I've had on a chicken parm or meatball sandwich. Pretty much redeemed the meal. Fries were the coated kind that has become ubiquitous. Do people really like those? I have no objection to frozen fries. Just give me solid potato please. I came early and was served promptly, but friends who arrived after six had a long wait. And I had to go to the counter to get my check and pay. The workers were friendly. I can't tell if they were understaffed or just not hustling enough.
