The large cheese pie was like a 3.5/5 due to the crust being a bit gummy. Cheese was awesome amount of sauce was just right but the crust needs some work. Service was friendly and about a 20 min wait for the pizza. Rest was as to be expected with the shop. Absolutly love Village Pizza in Rhinebeck. Pizza is great by the slice or pie. Homemade soup in Winter A bolagnaise as good as my favorite place in NYC. Best hamburger and now they have waffle fries. Had the chicken parmigiana on spaghetti here one night. Very impressive for a hole in the wall pizza joint! The red sauce and Italian baguette bread served with the meal were first class. As good as many very fancy Italian restaurants serve in NYC snd Los Angeles. Service was good too, just a little ADD because they have to watch the counter too. If he's too incompetent to have a teenage employee write a simple webpage, or to post correct hours using 'manage this business'.... I don't want him making my food. I've been to all the Village Pizzas in the area but this one is the weakest. I love that it's a hole-in-the-wall where it doesn't matter if the counter is unfriendly and design is dated because it's just a pizzeria. But the slice was cheese-heavy and unexceptional. I'd try other places before making this a regular stop. read more

I love the pizza here, it's a mainstay for the town and whenever I'm in the area I try to get a slice or pie. However in recent years I don't know what has happened but my orders seem to be consistently made wrong. The previous three pies I've ordered were missing something I ordered over the phone. The staff fixed the order but not by making a new pie, they'll add it on top and throw it back in the oven - which leads to an overcooked pie and an undercooked ingredient... and it's not like they were charging me for a pie without the ingredients, they're on the ticket but somehow never made it onto the pizza until after I noticed it missing. I'm afraid at this point I'm just gonna have to order from some place else for the foreseeable future. When I come to visit Red Hook I have to have village pizza. It's always delicious, and has that home town feel to it. It's a nice thin crust, and a good balance between cheese and sauce. Definitely worth a stop when you're in town. read more

Village Pizza is still my "go to" pizza location. It still serves the meanest cheese pizza around, and although prices have been going up here a little more every few years, I notice that these pizzas are getting a teensy-weensy bit bigger (deeper/wider, whatever you want to call it from the center to the outer part). They serve single slices, but I just found out (through my own mental calculations) that these slices wouldn't be your best decision according to price per slice. If you want pizza, your best bet is to go with 1 Regular size pizza. Although at times I find other toppings sometimes get mistakenly added to the pizza, that is becoming rather rare the more I come in from more pizzas. I might not be a "name" here, but I think they have begun to know just what I might order when I walk in the door because I think they are beginning to "know" me here. I was amazed the other day when I came in and also purchased a Pure Leaf of Diet Lemon variety. Never before have I found one of these here. I've been wanting to try your competition (because they have their own DoorDash delivery), to see how theirs differs/compares. But your pizza can't be beat. I would be willing to forgo an extra burden of having to come down and purchase, wait and pickup the pizzas and deliver them myself back home (of all of 1 mile or so delivery) than to see these differences. But perhaps you might want to 'vest yourself in becoming another DoorDash restaurant to compete with your competition very close by. (I really can see this place making more money with orders here - and I'd definitely be a DoorDash customer of yours if you'd be on the service.) read more

I'm rather new to the area but my husband is not. We tried many of the other pizza places but delivery was slow or the orders were cold and NONE of the pizza was good NY-style like I'm used to having. This area is not known for it's pizza BUT so far, this is my NEW favorite. It's traditional pizza done right. My own pizza was great (my husband's was a wee overcooked), but the crust was done right, cheese was delicious, and FINALLY I've had sausage that tasted like REAL sausage and isn't small disks of meat. A slice of pie for less than $2... AND it's phenomenal!?!?! Count me in! This is my first time here, but not my first rodeo when it comes to a good NY pie. This place is absolutely fantastic! Let me tell you why... Let's start with the most important piece of the pie (har har)... the crust. Hand made and hand tossed... for REAL! It's thin enough to get a great crispiness, but thick enough to hold all of those delicious, fresh toppings. Let's talk about those. We ordered 2 whole pies. First was a cheese only, and the second was a 'garbage' pie which included sausage, onion, pepperoni, black olives, and extra cheese. The cheese was evenly distributed, and the sauce was great! I've been going here off and on for years. Ben is a nice guy and the pizza has been ok. I stopped in for a slice yesterday afternoon and while I was paying one of the young guys behind the counter kept wiping his runny nose on the back of his hand and going right back to handling customers food. Luckily I had someone else get my slice. Got home and thought Ben might like to know. Nope. I told him what was happening and he just blew it off with an ok and hung up. No sorry, no I'll check into it, no thanks for the call. Just an ok and hang up. Lost me as a customer and the couple of people I've told were equally grossed out and are not sure if they would ever go there again. read more

I hate that the pizza is good here because the girl with the pink hair behind the counter is so unfriendly and also doesn't wash her hands after touching cash. She just goes right back to touching the food. There aren't many food options in the area, and I wish this place was more pleasant. read more

Village pizza I highly recommend the food is great, always fresh, you pay for what you get because it's in the town of Rhinebeck. I have eaten at sbarros in NJ, Pizza Hut expresses in Arizona, and probably went to the best pizza shop in Ireland and this place stands out far above any of the other pizza shops I've been to. Me and my grandma stopped in for a quick dinner and where all around pleased with the experience. The staff is super friendly and pretty on top of things. Pizza came came out quick and really hit the spot. I think people need to appreciate things for what they are. Excellent NY style pizza served in a casual pizzeria. Their pizza finds the right balance between dough, cheese and sauce for a slice that's satisfying, but not over the top heavy. I'm pretty picky about my pizza. The crust has to be crunchy on the outside but doughy on the inside, the cheese has to be melted and uniformly spread, the sauce has to have flavor but not too salty. Also, I hate greasy-it totally takes away from the flavor with all that fat coming out of it! So how does Village Pizza compare? Well. The crust IS excellent. And i think they do a good job of making the cheese uniformly spread out across the whole pie. I think the sauce is too salty for me personally, but good balance of spices otherwise. And, I do not like this "I pick up my pizza slice and a gallon of fat drips off of it" business. It seriously really ruins my meal when my pizza is sitting in a puddle of pizza grease. However, for $1.75, this is what you get. it's the cheapest slice around. If I am looking for a really quick meal and have nowhere else to go, it's alright. Village is by far our favorite weekly stop! Food is consistent, service is outstanding and Ben is a great guy! The pizza is hand spun, the crust is amazing, sauce is superb! If you want a real treat get a calzone! The insides are gooey and creamy, uhh now I'm hungry! Oh and let me just say....Buffolo Chicken Pizza....Yeah! Get it! Prices are great, especially for families. I especially love that I can be out plowing at night and I'm able to stop by there at 11:00 at night and still get a great hot slice!! read more
