We decided to give it a try for take out dinner. We ordered the Pork family meal, which included, black beans, rice and plantains. It serves 4-5 people. A good deal. The food was plentiful, hot and very good. The beans were delicious perfectly cooked Cuban style. We also ordered plantain chips, accompanied by a delicious garlic mojo sauce. And a salad. Salad was OK, but for the price it was not large enough to feed 4-5 people. I do recommend take out as well as eating at the restaurant. I think the food is fresh and good.

The service here was wonderful. The meals came out quickly, our new friend, Raphael, was so polite and friendly. He actually made plenty of table checks and answered all of our stupid questions. He kept pushing the Flan Casero and was right to do so. Melt in your mouth!!! Every dish that landed was gobbled up. It was so good that if you hesitated, you missed out. Three things I insist you order are the Calamari Frito, the Ropa Vieja and the sangria. If I had more space I'd give the details. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed all of them. 12/25

We started with fried plantains. You can order it when black bean salsa or just garlic. We opted for just garlic. They were cut thicker than we are used to and we loved it! They weren't greasy. Our only complaint is we should have ordered 2. I had the grilled chicken. It was very good. Tender and tasty. My daughter & one friend had the seafood stew and LOVED it. It was the perfect portion and she said it was very good. My husband ordered chicken noodle soup and his favorite, ropa vejia. He said it was very good. The soup was delicious! Our other friend had the mahi and he enjoyed it was well. We ended with dessert. My husband had flan, my daughter had their banana pudding (AMAZING) and I had a cafe con leche and I didn't have to ask to have it extra hot. It was perfect temp. Service was okay. We weren't checked on to refill sodas and once dessert hit the table & we took care of the bill, never saw him again to be able to put my coffee in a Togo cup. I think I remember the previous location as being dark, the new space is open, clean and modern. They have both inside and outside seating. It was definitely too hot for us to eat outside so we appreciated the roomy booth for the 5 of us. We had reservations and were sat within 10 minutes of arriving, which was perfect. The hostess was very friendly. Would we go back? YES!

We stopped for lunch and tried the lunch menu items. We tried the pollo asado bowl which comes with rice, salad , big chunk of avocado and baked chicken no skin. The rice and beans were so good. Beans were a little watery but were perfect for my taste as this is the way i like them. Chicken had good flavor but was a bit dry. Waitress was fast but food took longer than expected and we had to rush back to work. Love the 1950's Havana nostalgia vibe with all the vintage cuban decor. Dimmed lights and nice bright bar area. Spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor patio area.

In my opinion, trying Cuban food is a must, for anyone visiting Florida, since Spanish culture is such a huge part of South Florida scene. We found one or two other restaurants that offer better quality Cuban food than Havana 1957, but with vibe and music thrown in the mix, we decided to go with Havana 1957. We went on a Wednesday night, and though the place was mostly empty, it took a long time for us to get our food. We were a party of 9 so I understand how it could have been hectic for the chefs in the back preparing our food, but wait time of close to 1 hour felt a bit extreme. Our server was nice. The food was decent. The vibe was nice. The only bad experience I have to say, was that there was a lady from Visenta Studio walking around asking to take photos of us. Before we even got our appetizers, she came and asked if I wanted to buy the photos she took of us on a frame for $20 each. I asked her can I wait until after we eat to pay for the pictures? She said no, I am sorry right now please. I then asked if she can removed the photos from the frame because our family have to go back on Friday and they would prefer to bring just the photos and not the frames. I asked if I can pay her $10 just for the photo and no frame, and she said no it's still $20. I asked her what happens to the pictures I don't buy and she said they go in the garbage. I asked to speak to the manager to better understand how this made sense and she said the manager can't do anything because it's not his company. Honestly, this was such a frustrating experience and lost my appetite going back and forth with this lady named Samantha. I hold Havana 1957 partially accountable for going along with Visenta Studio and allowing this money hungry photographer to come and interrupt our dining experience. The whole experience would have been much better without this photographer engaging to ruin our experience. At the very least, Samantha (Visenta studio photographer) could have had humor and manners and offered to take free photo with our phone after we purchased two of her overpriced photos on hideous frames. I recommend this place to others for sure. I don't recommend you entertain the photographers from Visenta Studio. If they come by you said no thank you and save your money please. We are Florida locals who got suckered into paying tourist price for average pictures.

The food also came out really quickly, so I truly don't think the issue was the kitchen or how busy the restaurant was. The food was incredible -- truly the highlight of the entire experience. Everything I ordered was packed with flavor, and the margarita was incredible as well. The ambiance was also great and made for a really enjoyable atmosphere. I would've loved to finish with some flan, but my server never came back. I ended up having to ask another server for extra onions and even had to ask them for my check. It was disappointing because the food was so amazing and the experience had the potential to be perfect. I also can't really speak on whether it's "authentic" Cuban food or not, and I'm not sure why that's the main thing people focus on -- what I can say is that the food was absolutely delicious. The flavors were on point, and I'd definitely come back hoping for a more attentive service experience next time.
