I came in on a Sunday afternoon to order to go. It started off with me ordering a whole chicken with arroz chaufa de pollo. The cashier told me immediately that I couldn't do that. Because it's extra to get the arroz chaufa. I'm aware of that and I'm willing to pay the extra $$. She could've worded it differently and mention that it is extra instead of stating I can't do that. Then while waiting for the food to be ready, I'm looking at the other employees hard at work. When I happen to notice an employee scooping 2 bowls of white rice onto plate without any gloves on. When he was drying utensils with a damp rag prior to that. I was a bit disgusted. Nobody is wearing hairnets that are behind the counter calling for the food to be picked up. And when I get home, unfortunately the arroz chaufa was slightly burnt. You could taste all throughout the rice. Every time I come to south Florida, I am craving for the Churrasco. This time is not excluded. I pick a cafeteria type restaurant that serves the Churrasco. La Brasa has a lot of nurse come to enjoy a lesser cost food. This Latin with Cuban food is a obvious choice. I have Churrasco that cook to medium rare. It come with choice of side. I got sweet plantain and rice with black bean. The black bean soup is a bit watery. The sweet plantain was well prepared. The Churrasco was good cut with nice meat texture. The grilled technique is good. Dish is delicious. You will have to order at the counter and the food will be delivered to your table with recognition of distributed number. It had been a couple of years since I ordered from this place. Unfortunately, given the fact that you must place your order over the phone (no app nor online ordering available), that the line to order is the same line for picking up your food (since you must pay in person at the only register available), and the cashier doesn't speak fluent English, it will be a while before I consider returning during my lunch break. With that said, the food was genuinely delicious. I ordered a chicken cilantro soup and a chicken tamale from their online menu. The meat was ever so tender and seasoned, not bland like the white meat in soups from other restaurants. The tamale was authentic and a good portion. I also ordered an alfajor (a Latin-American confection w/ dulce de leche or caramel) for dessert, and topped off with a bottled maracuya drink. Both were just right! The staff was nice too, but seemed stressed. Withal, it's a good place to eat if you're not rushed and as far as the cost, their prices are fair. The Peruvian restaurant where you are told what to eat. I came to eat their "Pollo a la Braza" = "Roticery Chicken" and after a ten minute line it was my turn to approach to place my order. I requested two chicken breasts since i don't like the taste of any other part of the chicken. The cashier told me I had to order a half chicken, which of course included a quarter and leg. La Brasa is one of my kids' favorite places to eat. It's close to home, fast and the food is really good. The service is terrible, I had four waitresses once argue with me and then realize they were wrong and apologize over a sauce I requested. Once I was there a server walked up to me with a stack of dishes and put them in front of me so she could grab more to put on top...so they just don't have good service, or really know what it entails. However, the food is really good, but not cheap. It's super expensive for where it is, but the sizes are pretty decent for most items, and definitely shareable. We love the fish and shrimp ceviche, lomo saltado, churrasco, chicken soup, chicken fried rice, and, of course, the doughnuts that they only offer Thur-Sat night. Definitely worth checking out, but get in there for lunch if you can, as the prices are lower. read more

Having previously been to La Brasa Rotisserie & Grill, a two star not all that great of a place, I had real fears of going here. Though it only goes by the name of La Basa, leaving the Rotisserie & Grill out, the two are clearly related if you read the locations on the http://www.labrasarotisserie.com website though this La Brasa has a website of its own which makes no mention of other locations. Really weird. Not only in names but in its food and service this La Brasa and the La Brasa Rotisserie & Grill do seem worlds apart. This La Brasa appears cleaner, the setting is more comfortable and the staff far more professional. And I would also say the food is better, though the offerings of both are basically of budget priced Peruvian. My boyfriend for the month and I decided upon sharing a fish ceviche picante, a mixed seafood ceviche primero, what they merely list as a half-pound steak, some of the usual beans, Peruvian corn and plantains. We agreed that both of the ceviche dishes were really good, have a perfect clean lime/red onion acidic taste, as well as having a good appearance when presented. The steak, which is rather obviously that of a cheap cut round however was so horribly dry and flavorless. It would have been inedible had it not been for some very tasty flavorful in house mayo based sauce with the only name for it being "House Sauce." Order your food at the counter and they deliver it to your table. I got the white rice, quarter chicken, and some yucca fries. They didn't offer any other kind of rice like the other one. The chicken was perfectly roasted, I love the crispy skin on it. Of course, they're yucca fries were on point. They had an onion station. One with regular white chopped onions, the other was a yellow Onion salsa-so tasty when you put it over the rice. They also have a white ranch-like sauce at the tables. I wish this one had a huge sauce station like the other location. The food came out pretty quick and it made me very happy and full. The employees were also friendly.
