Churrasco
Boon C.

Every time I come to south Florida, I am craving for the Churrasco. This time is not excluded. I pick a cafeteria type restaurant that serves the Churrasco. La Brasa has a lot of nurse come to enjoy a lesser cost food. This Latin with Cuban food is a obvious choice. I have Churrasco that cook to medium rare. It come with choice of side. I got sweet plantain and rice with black bean. The black bean soup is a bit watery. The sweet plantain was well prepared. The Churrasco was good cut with nice meat texture. The grilled technique is good. Dish is delicious. You will have to order at the counter and the food will be delivered to your table with recognition of distributed number. It is convenient.

Half chicken with white rice and black beans as well as totones as a side order and plenty of various sauces.

The food has so much flavor and the taste is really good. This is one of the local places that I go to when near plantation in Florida. They have just about anything for everyone. On this review, I had half of chicken with white rice and black beans, and a side of totones. This plate fill me up and felt full for almost all day. Their menu has a lot of food choices and you can mix and match.

It had been a couple of years since I ordered from this place. Unfortunately, given the fact that you must place your order over the phone (no app nor online ordering available), that the line to order is the same line for picking up your food (since you must pay in person at the only register available), and the cashier doesn't speak fluent English, it will be a while before I consider returning during my lunch break. With that said, the food was genuinely delicious. I ordered a chicken cilantro soup and a chicken tamale from their online menu. The meat was ever so tender and seasoned, not bland like the white meat in soups from other restaurants. The tamale was authentic and a good portion. I also ordered an alfajor (a Latin-American confection w/ dulce de leche or caramel) for dessert, and topped off with a bottled maracuya drink. Both were just right! The staff was nice too, but seemed stressed. Withal, it's a good place to eat if you're not rushed and as far as the cost, their prices are fair. To the owner/manager: please improve your ordering/checkout process--for everyone. Thank you so much.

I'm Peruvian and I have tried my share of Peruvian restaurants in south Florida. La Brasa has to be one of my favorites spots to go with my family and friends. Price is reasonable. The food is delicious. I took my husband here for the first time and all he can do was rave about it for weeks! Wish they had one of these restaurants in Jacksonville, Florida.

La Brasa is one of my kids' favorite places to eat. It's close to home, fast and the food is really good. The service is terrible, I had four waitresses once argue with me and then realize they were wrong and apologize over a sauce I requested. Once I was there a server walked up to me with a stack of dishes and put them in front of me so she could grab more to put on top...so they just don't have good service, or really know what it entails. However, the food is really good, but not cheap. It's super expensive for where it is, but the sizes are pretty decent for most items, and definitely shareable. We love the fish and shrimp ceviche, lomo saltado, churrasco, chicken soup, chicken fried rice, and, of course, the doughnuts that they only offer Thur-Sat night. Definitely worth checking out, but get in there for lunch if you can, as the prices are lower.

From Monday through Thursday do you close at 9pm? We where advised by the staff that the kitchen was closed, but in the entrance it says it closes at 10pm

They close at 9:00 PM, except on Fridays and Saturdays when they close at 10:00. Some businesses have modified their hours because of COVID-19. If the staff advised they are closed—they are closed, but they should definitely update their signage.

When we first arrived, our waiter completely forgot about us and another waiter had to step in and help. My husband ordered a seafood soup, and the waiter's assistant brought it out... but with no spoon. We waited about 5 minutes before she came back with a tiny dessert spoon for a seafood soup I asked the hostess if we could please get a proper spoon. She kept walking in and out until finally she told us that all the spoons in the restaurant were occupied and we had to wait. Meanwhile the soup had already been sitting there for over 10 minutes getting cold. At the end, Alejandro the only person actually trying to help finally went and found a spoon himself. By then my husband didn't even want the soup anymore. Our original waiter finally came back and asked if we wanted him to reheat the soup ‍ My husband said no, please just take it away and bring the check. Then the waiter says, "Look, I removed the soup from the bill," as if that fixed the situation The saddest part is that no manager ever came over, nothing. Everyone acted like this was completely normal. The only person who genuinely tried to resolve the situation was Alejandro.

I had a great time the first time, and yep it's still that girl. Let's talk about the vibe real quick. The ambiance is everything. Modern, and just really well put together. From the furniture textures to the contrast in colors it all feels super intentional but still chill. Like, they knew what they were doing when they designed this place. 10/10 on the setting alone. Let's get down to the items shall we? What We Had Drinks ____________________ + Naori Signature Drink ($15) : 8.4/10 This one's made with Pisco Berries and Triple Sec. It's a layered, fruity cocktail that's a little more complex. Personally, I prefer the Pisco Sour it's cleaner and more balanced for my taste. But if you like citrusy and berry-forward drinks, you might love this one. Again, these are my reviews based on my taste buds. You might feel differently and that's ok honey. + Espresso Martini ($16) : 9/10 Strong, chocolatey, and gets the job done. + Lychee Martini ($16) : 8.6/10 Clean and balanced. Not too sweet, just smooth and refreshing + Pisco Sour ($16) : 10/10 My fave. Fruity, with this nice cold foam on top. Pretty sure there were peach or passionfruit notes in there. So good. * Shots - We also did a round (Don Julio, I think), and it kept the vibe going. Appetizers/Entrees __________________ +Nikkei Tiradito ($19) : 10/10 Thin tuna slices with a shouyu sauce that had a little citrusy kick. I could've had another plate just for myself. +Grilled Octopus ($20) : 8.4/10 This was good! Cooked well, had a nice char. Not my favorite thing on the table, but still strong comes with Peruvian corn and potato. +Arroz Chaufa Special ($24) : 10/10 Babyyy this dish was everything. Wok-fried rice, perfectly seasoned. That filet was so tender, and the shrimp just brought it all together. Easy standing ovation for me. * Dessert - I honestly can't remember what we ordered for dessert, but it was decent. Nothing crazy. I'd give it a 7/10. Overall Experience: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 Would I Be Back? Without a doubt. I even told my mom about this place and I think she went a couple months ago! The staff is very welcoming the minute you walk in and explains the special(s) that might be happening at the time. If you arrive during their Lunch Special, I recommend doing it as you get an appetizer, entrée and a drink with your order. Certain items are excluded from this special but it is noted on the menu. I was luck to arrive during to lunch special which I ordered Papa a la Huancaina. This yellow, creamy sauce over potatoes had so much flavor and the right amount of heat that I was scrapping every drop sauce off the plate before handing it over. For my entree, I ordered the Linguini a la Huancaina w/ chicken. This overall dish was super delicious. The chicken is flatten when cooked and the pasta to Huancaina sauce portions are perfect for each bite. Ceviche was order by my co works order which I recommend everyone to try at least once at Peruvian restaurant. For someone who is not a fan of fish or certain seafood, Peruvian ceviche is made a certain way to mask that fishy/ seafood flavor. You get this acidic, yummy bite from lime juice and onions that are included. I do recommend bringing some kind of jacket or coverup because the inside of the restaurant was very nice but extremely cold. I saw many parties chose to sit outside after being sat inside due to the temperature. Also the bathroom location, there is a hallway near the bar you will need to walk down to get to it. Smells like fresh limes walking down the hallway and is very clean but can be a tad confusing looking for it generally.

Both the tallarines and the lomo were flavorful. I just wished there was some way to keep the juices from the lomo away from the tallarines because at the bottom of the plate the pasta tasted like lomo, not like pesto hahaha -still, yummy-.
