One of stops whenever we are in Florida. The food, vibe, and service are always great. I loved the shrimp paella, portions are very generous.

This places is amazing!!!!!! We are loyal fans of La Carreta and have visited many of their locations over the years. But when we discovered La Carreta in Pembroke Pines, it became our favorite for one simple reason: Gretel. Her service is something you rarely find anymore. She remembers you, remembers your name, and always makes you feel genuinely welcome. We usually come for the breakfast buffet, and she always makes sure we have our coffee and everything we need before we even have to ask. We even brought our parents, and to this day they still remember Gretel. She is simply unforgettable. I don't write many reviews, but when someone makes such a lasting impression, I feel it's important to recognize them. Thank you, Gretel, for your kindness, professionalism, and for making every visit feel special. La Carreta is truly lucky to have you!

I have a love hate relationship with this place. If you order from the window your coffee and pastel youre in and out and it's usually good Breakfast $10 for steak, 2 eggs, potatoes or grits, and Cuban butter tostada. It's the best thing you can buy for the price. Anytime I order dinner items they suck. I ordered yucca and they're dry and old. The ground beef is so full with oil I had to drain it. Absolutely disgusting. Ordered the garlic chicken and it was such a small portion and under seasoned. Chicken soup was yummy! Outside of that... The quality isn't there for dinner items. Stuck to breakfast or cafeteria items.

I ordered to go. Staff very frustrated Andy. I like the decor and the uniforms creates an illusion you in Cuba. The food was packaged in a nice box. The food is always very good tasting here. I also ordered coffee and it's perfect strong and sweet.

You can never go wrong with authentic original Cuban food It's really delicious. The host on the waiters their services. Amazing is always chill and inviting. I'll go here. At least twice a week for breakfast. More used to come here. A lot for dinner for my kids. Love to try different. We can't go wrong with this place. You have to come and try.

Reliable place for great Cuban food for great value. Staff brought our food super quick. Can't say it's different from any other La Carreta but they are all equally great

I've lived in the area for over 20 years and even though I no longer live there anymore. When I come into town, I make sure that I grab myself a box of yummy treats with either a nice cup of cafe con leche or a can of Jupina. My to go order always includes guava and guava con queso pastelitos, empanadas, pandebono and ham or bacalao croquetas

I was kind of hungry, when I got off the plane. So, my husband and I came to one of our favorite Cuban restaurants for breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, Cuban toast, and home fries. My husband had grits, fried eggs, toast and Cuban coffee. The food was delicious. We'll definitely be back soon. :-)

We stopped for lunch and tried the lunch menu items. We tried the pollo asado bowl which comes with rice, salad , big chunk of avocado and baked chicken no skin. The rice and beans were so good. Beans were a little watery but were perfect for my taste as this is the way i like them. Chicken had good flavor but was a bit dry. Waitress was fast but food took longer than expected and we had to rush back to work. Love the 1950's Havana nostalgia vibe with all the vintage cuban decor. Dimmed lights and nice bright bar area. In my opinion, trying Cuban food is a must, for anyone visiting Florida, since Spanish culture is such a huge part of South Florida scene. We found one or two other restaurants that offer better quality Cuban food than Havana 1957, but with vibe and music thrown in the mix, we decided to go with Havana 1957. We went on a Wednesday night, and though the place was mostly empty, it took a long time for us to get our food. We were a party of 9 so I understand how it could have been hectic for the chefs in the back preparing our food, but wait time of close to 1 hour felt a bit extreme. Our server was nice. The food was decent. The vibe was nice. The only bad experience I have to say, was that there was a lady from Visenta Studio walking around asking to take photos of us. Before we even got our appetizers, she came and asked if I wanted to buy the photos she took of us on a frame for $20 each. I asked her can I wait until after we eat to pay for the pictures? She said no, I am sorry right now please. I then asked if she can removed the photos from the frame because our family have to go back on Friday and they would prefer to bring just the photos and not the frames. I asked if I can pay her $10 just for the photo and no frame, and she said no it's still $20. I asked her what happens to the pictures I don't buy and she said they go in the garbage. I asked to speak to the manager to better understand how this made sense and she said the manager can't do anything because it's not his company. Honestly, this was such a frustrating experience and lost my appetite going back and forth with this lady named Samantha. I hold Havana 1957 partially accountable for going along with Visenta Studio and allowing this money hungry photographer to come and interrupt our dining experience. The whole experience would have been much better without this photographer engaging to ruin our experience. At the very least, Samantha (Visenta studio photographer) could have had humor and manners and offered to take free photo with our phone after we purchased two of her overpriced photos on hideous frames. I recommend this place to others for sure. I don't recommend you entertain the photographers from Visenta Studio. If they come by you said no thank you and save your money please. We are Florida locals who got suckered into paying tourist price for average pictures.

She attentive, friendly and helpful. We wanted to order an appetizer before our entree came out and she advised us to wait because it would come out at the same time which I personally don't like so I appreciated her letting us know. To start, I ordered a jupiña and my bf ordered a materva. We also got bread for the table and ordered an appetizer which was the trio tostones. For the trio, we only went with chicken and beef because we didn't want to have pork. The chicken ended up being better than the beef so we would probably go with the chicken next time. Once the appetizer came out, then we placed our entree order. I decided to go with the vaca frita, maduros, and moro rice and my bf ordered a palomilla, white rice and yuca. We both enjoyed our meals. Then, I ordered a coffee which was good as well. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the service. We would come back. The Vaca Frita was outstanding, a generous portion, perfectly seasoned, and cooked exactly as requested: extra crispy. The rice was flavorful without being overly salty, and the black beans were spot-on. Everything struck that perfect balance where it's seasoned just right, you don't need to add anything unless you want to. The tostones were excellent too, crispy on the outside with a soft, tender bite inside, nothing like the hard, overcooked versions you often get elsewhere. We started with their plantain chips and enjoyed the complimentary Cuban bread. For dessert, the mousse was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, the ideal finish. Sergio's has easily become our go-to spot for Cuban food. Highly recommended.
