The news is true and sadly, this JoAnn, like all other locations, will soon be closing. I asked someone when this site will close and she replied, "once the inventory is gone." I specifically went to look for quilting supplies, but sadly that aisle was significantly picked over. Thread is pretty much depleted too. I did find some good canvas bags for holding yarn and my crocheted projects. I was also pleasantly surprised to find 25 percent off of Woobles crochet kits. They are cheaper here than in Amazon, but the rack is near empty. For those who might like making no sew fleece blankets to gift others or donate to non-profits, there are many still on sale here. A lot of painting supplies and home decor items left here too. I'm not sure I would buy any material as many had a 1 yard limit which might not work if you are working on a larger project. I feel for the employees working hard here knowing what is inevitable. I will miss having a JoAnn nearby as their prices and sales have always been pretty good. read more

If you'd like to relive verbal abuse of screams from an adult woman then by all means come here to this location. I asked a simple question without an attitude and yet this employee was screaming at me even though it was a yes or no question. I understand things change everyday I also worked in retail and business that have shut down but the lack of respect and increase discrimination against people is beyond ridiculous. Not only that she didn't have enough of screaming at me and proceeded to follow me to the cashier lines just so she can keep yelling at me for no reason. That's just petty at that point. Times are rough for everyone especially the working class however screaming at someone doesn't excuse that especially when someone is respecting you as an elder. read more

Wow -- this is like a creative person's dream store. The selection at this store is just amazing -- with more types of yarn, jewelry beads, foam, seasonal decorations, baking goods, and other things than I've seen at any other store (besides Hobby Lobby). It's not perfectly arranged, but surprisingly organized for a store of this size where I had no problems finding anything I was looking for. The prices may not be the cheapest, but it's very convenient to be able to get some items very quickly -- and to be able to browse selections that I may not have even thought of. It's not difficult to find lots of selection on Amazon or Ebay but you won't be able to glance at a large variety of different ideas as quickly as you will be able to here. The lighting inside the store is very good so you'll get an accurate assessment of the colors and textures of the items you're buying. Parking is fairly easy as this is located in a very large plaza. The staff is overall helpful though not always friendly. I wish that the checkout was a little faster as this always seems to be understaffed, but it's not too bad of a wait. Overall, a good store to visit to get arts, crafts, hobby, baking, and other needs for creative endeavors. read more

I love JoAnns but this location sucks! Toni the manager is nice and will always try and resolve problems created by her employees. Some of the employees could use a refresher class on some customer service. I get notified that my order is ready and when I get there, they can't find it. Or I get there and I don't get my full order. There has been times when I've left thinking I had my full order and made it across town just to have to go ALL THE WAY BACK because I didn't have my full order! Unfortunately I have to come to this location because of their availability. My location (Schaumburg) is usually out of stock on things I need. Once when I did drive back, a lady asked me if I can come back tomorrow because they were closing soon. Uh... heck no!!! If you don't give me the rest of my sh*t! Your coworker was supposed to give me my entire order the first time! They need to get it together. And don't think about calling! I placed my order on line and received an email to pick up in store. Drove 15 miles to pick up the order. Half of my order was cancelled; I understand probably not in stock any longer. I arrived and there were 30ppl in the check out line. I waited in that line to pick up my order. Once outside the store I noticed the fabric cut was not the fabric I ordered. I went inside and again the cashier line was super long. The cutting table line was long so I looked for an employee to help me. Couldn't locate a single employee so I went to the back of the store where I saw people on the other side of the door that said employees only. I knocked and a gal came out. I told her my situation and she instructed me to go to the front of the store and stand in line again to be helped there. I told her I just stood in a line of 30 people and this was their fault. She said I needed to go there. I asked for a manager and she said she is the manager. I told her I didn't have time; I needed to pick my mother up from the hospital. She said she's sorry my mom is in the hospital but " we all have things to do" WOW the absolute worst customer service. I spend thousands of dollars a year with Joann. Now I have fabric that I didn't order. Such a shame the management team treats customers this way. Obviously she was more busy with the price cards she had in her hand than correcting an error her staff made. I'll rethink my options before coming to this location again. read more

The employees in the store move incredibly slowly - whether you're asking them a question or being checked out. Expect to spend a ridiculous amount of time in this store waiting. They are barely civil to customers, just straight up crabby. Half the items in the store don't have prices on them or tags on the shelves. There is no where to scan an item for a price, so you have to wait in the epically long line to talk to a miserable employee. They also don't honor posted prices and sales. And forget about coupons. One item per transactions and only if it's not on sale. Don't waste your time here. read more

In a world of focus around customer service, somehow, Joann's manages to hire only the grumpiest of all people. It's truly a shame, since they carry such great products. Yet their consistently rude customer service makes me question coming in every single time. For example today, I came in to buy supplies for a new project, and had a 50% off a single item coupon plus $15 off of $75, and $10 off of $50 purchase. My purchase total was a little over $80. The at the register had literally rolled her eyes when I gave her 2 coupons coupons, then after scanning the 50% off would not apply the second one, as the total was now $74. I asked if I can then apply the $10 off of the $50, and coldly she cancelled out the 50% could and applied only the $10 off of $50. I wanted to tell her to either apply both the $10 plus 50% off or only the $15 off the $75, as my original total was over $80, but she seemed too irritated to even care. I just decided to keep quiet and not say anything further and miss out on the savings. This store is huge! I've driven by here I don't know I have thousands of times and I thought it was just a fabric store is on my told me no it's a craft store and I needed some frame so that Id go in. The store is self is kind a like have has really put together. I'm sure there's a Ramen reason to it but it's not easy navigable if you haven't been there before. Maybe I just didn't look up enough to look but I thought it was going to circle is when he's time I was where I needed to be. Can't beat the price. I need some frames and ended up walking out with six frames for right over $100. Which I thought was a steal. The Fraser 40% off but even if they were the prices are really reasonable or better yet they're comparable to Michael's or hobby lobby. No, they do NOT offer curbside pickup. I called the number instructed (email and huge sign over the entrance), and the system disconnected me multiple times. Finally, I went inside, unnecessarily risking exposure. The clerk at the only open register told me the phones have been down for five days. This JoAnn location has a really good inventory of craft goods and fabrics. This location seems to be slightly better-staffed than the Vernon Hills location (they're all very skilled, and work hard, but there never seems to be enough staff on hand), though the store layout is a little more awkward (they're in an odd sort of corner of the strip mall). This location always seems busier, and can sometimes get a little too crowded. While the checkout staff are quick, a line can sometimes form that goes back past the buttons section. I recommend that you try to go during off-peak hours, to avoid crowds or lines. Because of how they're situated at an odd angled storefront, it's also a little bit further back from parking (an issue for psychically challenged customers). Still, this is probably one of the better JoAnn locations I've been to. read more

My husband who is Director of Sales for a large Sound Company Had all his backstage passes just thrown in drawers & it was driving me nuts! & I knew Joann Fabrics did framing so I gathered them all up & went there . Not only did Janet do a great job , she was very patient with me calling and bugging her about it . The icing on the cake was when I went to take it out to my car two employees raced to help me with it ( it's pretty big ) & then it wouldn't fit in my car , & I couldn't believe it but the Regional Mgr actually put it in his SUV & followed me home with . Five stars for the amazing employees here who deal with a ton of crap and still are friendly, cheerful, and fix issues when they pop up! Negative stars for the awful managerial experience I had today. Sadly this store still has the best stock I've seen locally but I won't be back. The email I wrote to Joann corporate is below. "Hello! I'm writing about a recent store experience I had in Arlington Heights, IL. I live in Chicago and drove about an hour to this location because I've previously had amazing experiences here and this location always has what I need in stock. I am a Joann "regular" of sorts - I shop at your stores several times a week for supplies for my business and have spent thousands of dollars here. I love Joann! I am always very polite to staff because I know working in retail can be challenging and often, customers are rude and demanding so I try to make their job as easy as I can in my requests for cuts, etc. However, today I encountered the rudest retail employee I have ever met. I believe this woman was a manager, but I was so upset and flustered I failed to get her name before I left the store. I bought quite a few end-of-bolt remnants at the cutting counter and at the checkout when I asked my cashier to correct the prices on my slip that did not reflect the EOB prices, this employee/manager stepped in and began berating the employee who cut my fabric in front of me. After screaming at several other employees, she eventually realized what happened and then proceeded to challenge me and act as if I was trying to steal product. As she fixed the prices on the slip, she was visibly agitated with me and made condescending and passive aggressive comments the entire time, even though it was a store error. At the end she made another comment about how she "knew [I] would do this again," as if insinuating I was trying to "con" the store. I found her remarks very insulting. Ultimately, I know I will return to Joann for my fabric needs, but I do hope for better service and store experience next time. This is definitely a better JoAnn than the Vernon Hills one. I like how much bigger it is, how much nicer the employees are, and how there's more products in stock. Upon walking in, I was warmly greeted by the cashier and then by another employee setting up a display. I came here because of the terrible service and lack of stock in the Vernon Hills store. I'm glad I made the trip! The store is a bit confusingly set up, but I found they had more items in stock. I found the fabrics I was looking for to make a dress, and while I couldn't find one on my list, the cutting lady actually left the station to help me look. Wow! We couldn't find it but she apologized and gave me numerous, better recommendations instead which she grabbed for me. I wasn't sure how much I needed yet she didn't get annoyed but patiently measured and explained what she thought I would need. My god though, this store is well stocked! I found they had various fur fabrics of different colors (the lady at VH said they didn't carry fur) and they had a rainbow of fleece colors (VH had like five shades left). Even the fabric remnants have a bigger, better selection. I was so happy I could get plain yellow fleece. I'd love to come here again and make it my JoAnn! The employees here are fantastic, nice, and know what they're doing even though the store seems understaffed. Props to them! I noticed the ladies in front of me wanted a yard of fabric, but part of it was slightly damaged so the employee apologized, said she wouldn't give it to them, and cut her a new piece while asking about what the project is. They're also efficient and have TWO cutters. The cutters also had a call system to ask for the next number via speaker so you could browse while waiting. At the cashier, they quickly opened a second line to meet demand. The best JoAnn I've seen so far! read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet or perhaps it's because I am always salivating when I enter. This place has a great variety of fabrics, crafts and teacher supplies. The layout of the store is pretty easy to understand and I always know where to go. Most of the time, you will find a coupon on their app. I get the mailing coupons too so it's a double bonus. New shipments come in on Wednesday and mostly all of them of nice and are willing to help you out. What I love most is their new teacher selection of borders, posters, etc. I find it easy to spend countless hours and money here too. read more

I popped into this location after an eye appointment yesterday. I would have to say that the parking lot was the worst part of my trip. It was pretty crowded, and I couldn't tell if it was due to poor snow patrols or just bad parking. This store's layout is very different from any of the other locations that I have been to. I felt like I needed a map at first. I eventually meandered through, and found what I was looking for. The yarn section is a little confusing at first. I'm a little on the shorter side, so I didn't realize that you had to look up to see the brands/types above on the backboards. All in all, a nice store. I used multiple coupons upon check out, and was inivited to check out the class board on my way out. What do you know? I actually did. Flipping through the available classes, I decided that I might have to plan a day for just me and my Mom. read more

I called on Monday and a gentleman answered and said someone would call me....Never did...I did however call on Tuesday Nov27,2018, waited a very long time on phone and was disconnected.. Back in March I had dropped off a picture that had broken glass at the Orland Park location in Illinois to get a new piece of glass. Then the corona virus has happened and everything had shut down. It wasn't until May 21st when I was able to pickup my picture. During the pandemic I had moved about 2 hours north of this location, so it was a long drive to come get it. On May 20th I had called the store to see if the picture was ready, and they said yes, I just need to come at noon. I drove down there that day at noon, and the women at curbside said that my frame would not be ready until the following day and that the woman I spoke to on the phone misspoke. I wasted 4 hours driving that day. I had to come back the following day to receive it. When I got home the night of the 21st I opened the packaging and saw that there was a chip in the top corner of the glass. I was very upset because I spent so much time and money waiting for this. I called the Orland store and talked to Cayla (store manager) and she said that I would be able to take it to another store closer to where I now lived to get a refund. I drove 30 mins to the Arlington Heights location in Illinois the following day to get my refund and the manager at this location told me that I was unable to do so because their registers were not up and running yet and I would need to wait 2 weeks until the stores open up inside. That was another hour wasted driving. Fast forward to the end of June and I decided to just deal with the crack because I was tired of driving and waiting to hang the picture up. I then realized when I tried to hang the picture up that the glass was too small for the frame and the glass was popping out when I tried to place it on the wall. I brought it back to the Arlington Heights location and talked to their manager Adam who informed me that I could NOT get a refund because every store has a different vender and if I wanted a refund I would have to go to the Orland Park location. He said that he would fix the glass for free though. Okay, not the refund that I was promised, but finally some customer service. I had dropped it off two weeks ago and he promised me that it would be completed in 2-3 days. I called back today because I have not heard back from them yet and the head framer at their store, Janet, told me that she has yet to start it and she's hoping to get to it by Wednesday and will have it done by the beginning of next week. This is very disrespectful to my time and I need to be compensated for this. I would like to get my refund because In no way shape or form is this experience worth $80 and 10+ hours of my time driving. read more

I just wanted to do a simple return of 3 yards of fabric at Jo Ann. They have the worst customer service procedure. You have to wait in a long line to have the fabric measured, then take a slip of paper to the check out counter, and wait again. The store had the on line order info and still they struggled to get the return correct. A simple return should not take an hour. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a store in my life. Heather, an employee, had the nerve to get irritated with me because my baby cousin was with me and was crying She told me i was not a good mother... Instead of getting an attitude with me heather should have went about it an entirely different way. maybe talk to me or if she saw me struggling she could have tried to help me obtain the items i needed like a normal employee instead of being ruthless and judging me. Wow! This is a superstore and wow is it big. Fabrics galore! I would suggest coming here with a shopping list or you'll just go nuts and buy everything you see. Employees are super friendly too (much nicer and happier than the ones I've come across at Michael's). I wish this location was closer to where I live! Also appreciate being able to use multiple coupons in the same transaction - as long as the barcodes are different. Very disappointed with the ATTITUDE of some of there employees! When asking a simple question I don't appreciate a stare down and act like they have never heard of discounts? I am recently doing a fund raiser project and the money is coming out of my pocket so I asked if they ever gave discounts for such an event.. I am donating chemo blankets for people under going treatment at our local hospital..and was told NO and you have to have a number and be registered and blah...blah...blah Instead maybe having something written up somewhere????? What your rules are for non profit or donations! I was buying 18 yards of material... at least the cashier in front "January" her name was polite and looked at my coupon book mailed to me to see if there was some discounts and I just appreciate the effort! If its no.... I understand but these companies constantly hound you with emails and coupons and flyers and then when you go to the store its a whole different story....I have been a shopper here for many moons but truthfully don't think I am going to this store I will try maybe another location. Went here to go buy some fabric for a costume I'm making, and of course I need a lot of fabric and want to get the best deal I can. I ended up becoming one of "those" customers with the coupons that won't load or that won't scan. It ended up making the transaction really complicated, they had to reticket a bunch of stuff and we had to call the manager over to get the coupons sorted out. But throughout it all, Ben was very patient and understanding. He was great throughout the transaction and I hope he gets recognized for his customer service excellence. He made me a very happy customer and I will definitely be returning to this store! read more

This store has every arts and crafts need you could imagine AND MORE! This store is great for teachers looking for classroom posters or crafts. I can't believe how big this store is. They also offer a variety of classes! This store also does picture framing. The staff is extremely friendly and it's very efficient how they all use headsets to ask questions for customers. read more
