I've always enjoyed shopping at Joann's. However with their new location it's just a mess. Maybe they don't have enough employees. I went in for some fabric and it was hard to find anything because Most of it was thrown around and put in the wrong place. After spending about 40 minutes looking for something I finally walked out empty-handed. I was so disappointed to see my old Joann's in such disarray. Don't come here if you ever need to get in and out quickly! They need to staff this store better! I stood in line for the cashier as she literally helped ONE customer for 10 minutes. I finally got tired of waiting and walked around to ask if they could get another cashier to the register to help out the line. The lady I spoke with, Mary, said no. As they already had 2 on the floor, 1 at the fabric counter, 1 at the register and everyone else unloading the truck. I used the restroom while in the store and had to be escorted there so Mary could unlock the door. The restroom did not have soap or paper towels. I visited the fabric counter and there was a sign that said they were on break and would be back in 30 minutes. I understand the need for employees to go to lunch break, but customers shouldn't have to wait for 30 minutes for ONE employee to return before being helped. I've been to the store several times in the past without an issue. The ladies are always nice and friendly. But this recent visit was disappointing in more ways than one. read more

Waited 25 min on curbside pickup, I called them and waited another 10 min. I go inside and ask for my order and the cashier continues to help the line, the next customer told her to go ahead and help me, she asks me again for my info and goes SLOWLY to the back of the store, comes back w attitude and tells me YOURE WELCOME. This place has gone downhill. They haven't restocked the ribbon section in who knows how long... got rid of most the pony beads.. and there's always ONE person running the whole store. I needed spray paint out of the locked cabinet... plus some trim cut at the counter and then obviously would need to head to the register after that. The ONE employee was helping some ladies at the cut counter that were taking FOREVER! Meanwhile I was third in line for the counter while waiting for paint and the line at the register was completely backed up. It was clear I would be there a looong time. Set my items down and walked out. Went to DD's next door and when we left and went past Joann's I could see my name was still 3rd in line for the cut counter. This Joannes is tucked in the corner behind target in The Chino Towne Square, Central in Philadelphia. I needed to grab chalk paint for a table that my hubby is painting. The chalk paint here was 8.99 for 8 ounces and I was able to use a 20% off coupon, which saved me about 3 dollars because it also went toward the brush that I bought for the project. I also ended up with a store in drawer cabinet. This cabinet will be used for all of my daughters craft supplies. The cabinet was half off, so I could not use the 20% off coupon for it but it was nice that it was on sale! The people that work here are not super helpful. I was not greeted when I entered, and a lady and a gentleman working did not ask me if I needed help finding anything. These craft stores can be tricky because they have lots of items. When I asked if they had tablecloths, I was directed to the back of the wall and I did not see a single one. The girl checking me out said that they probably ran out. I came here to use my coupon, but I generally go to Hobby lobby or maybe even Michael's for certain craft or home decor supplies sometimes I forget about Joann! If it wasn't for the coupon, I probably would not have gotten my items here. read more

I was excited to visit this beautiful new store...and it is beautiful! I really think the service was horrible. The gal at the register could not for the life of her figure out how to process the coupons. The manager came up to assist. This woman never looked at me let alone greet me. She quickly spout out to the clerk what to do and left. The poor gal still couldn't figure it out. I suggested she break up my order. Regular priced items, sale items, discontinued items. Walla, it worked! With all the confusion, she never handed me one of my bags. I was surprised the store didn't contact me and i was not able to get back. I tried calling once and was left on hold. So I filled out the survey and explained my frustration. Only then did I receive an email from the manager. NO Name given...what gives is that how customer service is these days? The nice part was that she was going to send me my bag plus a gift card. For this I give them an extra star. I did indeed receive my bag and the card as promised. Surprised again that a note did not get included. Oh well! Store aesthetics is great, service so-so. I will try them again. read more

Wow! Registers are closed. You have to go to the cutting table to make a purchase and also to pick up an order. The register does not show the prices that are in the ad. So beware! If you don't have the ad you will be charged full price. No, it didn't say we needed a coupon, it was SALE price. The prices in store are also more than online. Fiskars cutting acrylic is $19.99 regular price online, in store it is $24.99. That's just one of the items. I had to show the ad for every item and they kindly corrected the register. There are no signs directing you to pay at the cutting table, so many customers were all walking around in circles trying to figure out where to pay after being told "pay in the back." Ridiculous! After my 25 minutes of showing the ad for every item, I was still over charged. 50% off $2.99 is not $1.99. My bad for not holding up the line even longer. One cashier, 3 workers. I will not be back. My local Joann's is closed this week I'm guessing due restocking, employee break period, or my biggest guess an employee was tested positive of Coronavirus, so they are doing a deep clean. Anyway, I placed an order at this location a few days ago for curbside pickup. Only to drive there today and find out that there was no curbside pickup! I as well as many other upset buyers had to go up to the front of the store, give our name & order # only to wait 50minutes for them to bring out orders . One . Darn . Order . At . A. Time! So unacceptable! You write names down, but then only bring out one order at a time?! Totally disorganized! There was no rhyme or reason to the system. When a buyer asked why they couldn't bring out multiple orders; the employee said too many people wanted to pickup and they had to search through tons of bags to find the names. Seriously???? Why didn't you have some kind of organization like orders by last name initial or something so that your store & employees could be more productive and take less time retrieving buyers orders. On top of that only 2 people were allowed into the store at anytime. Yet every employee I witnessed appeared to be extremely stressed, overwhelmed and not helpful or kind. I would never use this Joann's again for any reason coronavirus or not. This store has serious organizational issues. I realize that they are totally essential right now, especially for mask making and a way of being busy in a time of a pandemic. I truly appreciate Joann's staying open, for the employees who continue to show up to the job despite these chaotic and unprecedented times. But ... She walked in and was asked by Sandra if she needed any help, Sandra took the time to walk my wife through the whole process of getting fabrics cut, how to find the right templates to start making her own clothes, and now to read the back of the templates to see how much fabric she'd (I'd) need to buy. Summary: Robert the store manager clearly over his job and needs to be released from his duties I was looking for a Juki 1500 cover stitch machine and had noticed online that there were 3 available at the Chino location. I called to confirm that the machine was available, and the female representative who answered the phone stated that yes they had it in stock. The Chino location is 40 minutes away from me, but it was the closest location that had the machine. On entering the store I went to the sewing machine area and notice that it was very disorganized, and that I could not find the Juki 1500 there. I then went to go seek help, and came across Robert the store manager. I asked him if there were any in stock, and initially he did not give me any response. He seemed very unhappy, so I waited to see if he would eventually give me attention. After waiting about a minute he then looked at me and said he would check if they had any, but that he didn't think there are any available. I then told him that I had called earlier to check and see, where he then told me another customer had earlier come in and was upset with them because the stock online did not represent what they actually had in store. He then went to where the Juki 1500 floor model was and stated that that was the only one they had in stock. When I asked him why the person in the morning had said they had three available, he said he did not know and did not seem very concerned about the inconvenience caused. I then asked if there was anything he could do to help, and he stated there was nothing that he could do. When I asked if he could sell us the floor model, he said that he did not want to. When I asked if there was any other way to obtain this machine, he recommended to go to another store that is almost an hour and a half away, and he did nothing else to assure that the machine was actually in the other store. Even after this interaction, the website still shows that there are 3 Juki 1500 machines available at the Chino store location. Robert was perhaps one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with in my life, and he was completely unfazed about the inconvenience caused by the lack of his management of the store, and his general inattention to detail. He clearly does not like his job, and has not done the bare minimum to make sure others are not mislead at all. He did absolutely nothing, never apologized and only seemed irritated by my presence at the store. Even after all that, they never updated their website read more

Joanns is a craft store, but I mostly come here if I need fabrics. It is still in the same shopping complex, but it move to the area where Target is. My guess would be for more business as this complex is fairly dead and Target is one of the stores anchoring this shopping area. On my last visit, I learned that this place is dog friendly!! On the door, it said pet friendly!! The store is always clean and I have no had any issues with the workers. They all seem pretty friendly. They sell lots and lots of fabrics here!! You can find all types of designs and types of different fabrics. They have sales pretty often, so wait for sales unless you have no choice!! Download the app and they also have more coupons! Like Michaels, they have lots of craft items also! Seasonal things however, can be pretty pricey at regular price, so wait for the sales! Otherwise, you can find seasonal decor way cheaper at other stores! I plan on coming here again as I have some fabric needs! I also plan on bring my dog so we can work on shopping together! DO NOT under any circumstances order from the JOANNS website! Their inventory management is an absolute mess and items that are listed as IN STOCK on their website will either not arrive, or will arrive very late (as in, 3 or more weeks after being ordered). First, shipping from Joanns is overpriced and slow under even ordinary, non-COVID circumstances. Joanns charges $7.99 per order regardless of how much you spend, and that's for 10-day shipping. On Etsy, Ebay, and Amazon, shipping is either free, or just a few dollars per order (rarely more than 5 on Etsy), and stuff usually arrives pretty fast (within a week). Since ordering from Joanns, I have received no fewer than 7 emails telling me that items from my order are now unavailable or delayed. What makes it worse is that the emails constantly contradict each other. One email says that my white thread has already been shipped. The next email says that the white thread is out of stock. The next email says that my floss organizer, which I thought had already been shipped, is out of stock and no longer available. It's a complete clown fiesta. That said, the actual JOANNs store in Chino is a delight. The ladies are very friendly and I LOVE going there. The website, however, avoid at all costs. read more

Horrible customer service,. I will never spending money with this company. I rather spend money at Amazon, Hobby Lobby, Michaels. I had two horrible experiences with there curbside pick up. At this store I was told closing hour was 7 pm. I get there a little after 6 to pick up my order and a rude ass man answered phone and told me they close the doors at 6 and let people shop in their store for an hour and that I would have to come back to get order. What the f@ck??? The other store I ordered resin and when I called their inventory system didn't update so it would be an additional week to get my order. So needless to say I purchased both of my items with Amazon that I was trying to help a small business thrive during Covid. But f&ck it both times associates were rude and why the hell do they close their doors an hour before they close is beyond me. read more

It's 2023 and this store still doesn't take returns solely using the credit card used to purchase them with. I purchased a few items and fabrics roughly 7 days prior and wound up not needing them for my project. Unfortunately I didn't keep the receipt, but assumed it was common practice for stores to accept returns if you still had the credit card used to purchase the items. Every other store I've been to has been doing this for the past few years, apparently not Joanns. The manager, Robert, who clearly looked miserable, was no help, and brushed me off. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! At the fabric cutting area, me and my mom were waiting to have just one yard of ribbon cut. We waited patiently as the cutter was serving two men in front of us. When it was finally our turn, I said just 1 yard of the ribbon please. She then asked me what my number was, but I didn't get one as it slipped my mind (my bad). The cutter then proceeded to ask this elderly woman behind me, "ma'am this lady in front of you doesn't have a number do you want her to go ahead or no?" And the elderly lady said no and that she'll go ahead (rude) AND she had a ton of stuff! I know I didn't get a number but the cutter could have told the lady that she could just quickly cut the ribbon and be done. I only needed ONE SNIP of a ribbon. This is my favorite Jo-Ann's location :] Even though I moved to Pasadena, I still make my way out here whenever I'm in the need of some fabric or other supplies. (I only come out when I hit up another store that is in the same shopping center - hitting 2 birds with one stone). I went to one near my home in Dena and I was not impressed by it at all. :[ It was smaller, had less selection, was messier, and had narrow shopping aisles. I love the selection of trim! (my favorite area) They have a wide array of fabrics too & tend to have what I'm looking for. I do feel like sometimes Jo-Ann's beading sections could be better stocked (I usually go to Michael's for variety). Michael's also has a wider selection of faux flowers. The ladies here are really kind also. They don't mind listening to me babble about how I'm going to try to make something without a sewing machine - they are usually helpful when asked questions. The shopping center seems kind of empty in my opinion, but I hope this location stays. read more

I haven't seen any reviews about this location's alterations counter and that's a shame. I had a dress that I've been holding onto for almost 2 years because it was about a foot too long for me. I was always putting off taking it anywhere, but I'm glad I waited until this store moved locations and added an alterations center. She did a beautiful job on my dress and now it is perfectly hemmed to my height. Will come back again if I ever have something too long for me again. read more
