I've been shopping here as a trans woman since early in my transition when they were one of very few stores that I knew would have clothes for a woman my height (6'1"). The employees have always been incredibly kind to me, never making me feel out of place, and several of them remember my name when I go back, even if it's been a while. They're the biggest reason I keep going back. The store is well organized, fitting rooms are bright and have a large waiting area for a friend, with a big set of mirrors. They've got decent selection, and change out styles frequently. I love that they usually have a decent amount of clearance at this locations. For the main floor, I do feel like they might have too many categories of things, so not enough options in any one of those categories. For value: always check their website to see if it's cheaper there (it's frequently 40% off or more), and then if it is, price match it in store (which they are happy to do). Other than that, the clearance is usually some great deals, but the normal price on the tag feels high without a sale. I had not shopped at Torrid in 4 years. I was prodded by ig advertisements, sales, and attractive styles via algorithms. Before I purchased online I wanted to ensure the clothing was true to size. So I made a visit. I was amazed at the attractive styles! First, allow me to commend Markie's excellent customer service. She thoroughly explained the current sales and online sales. I already had items in my online cart and she retrieved the ones that were still in the store. After Markie explained the sizing numbers I started shopping for more. This Torrid location is always clean and inviting. You are greeted at the door and made to feel welcome. I had to make a return and was assisted by Alyssa. I had the wrong receipt with me and she was patient as I looked through my email for the digital email of my purchase. Torrid is marketed at curvy women size 12 and up. I am always somewhere between size 10-14. I am also 5'11" and have a hard time finding large and tall/long enough clothing. (I don't want to look like I'm wearing high-waters). This store fits the bill. Torrid is more fashionable than Lane Bryant and better priced. I like how Torrid is trendy and yet classy. The ladies working there are very friendly and helpful. They have all the latest styles and even have a "naughty" outfit section. Why should all the skinny girls have all the fun right?! They also have a good selection of work clothing, dresses, skirts, shorts, t-shirts, shoes, undergarments, and accessories. I actually bought a cute pair of sunglasses here today. Torrid is a store which focuses on plus sized fashions. The smallest size they carry is a 12, and I think they go to a 28. Pros: Definitely cater to a younger/on trend crowd. Things go on clearance and their clearance will go on a 50% off sale every few months. Decent/Excellent quality clothing. The service is usually excellent. The ladies who work here go out of their way to help you find the right size/color/length for you. If you ask nicely, I'm sure you can get one of them to zip you up! lol Con: A bit expensive. I've heard the bras really don't last very long, but I don't have personal experience with that. read more

So I've come to this store a good 6 times at least, I have to say that they have really good customer service, all the way from the ladies in the register to the ladies running the fitting rooms. I've also been here picking up an online order and although they were ridiculously busy, these ladies managed to still continue to provide descent customer service. Today in specific I had to go to about 4 different stores and the staff at Torrid certainly stood out amongst the other 3 stores. As for the prices, I do think they are a little over priced but the quality is good. read more

The store is new and is clean. But the attitudes from the staff here are unacceptable. I have been in twice, and had returns. I got attitude the first time for not wanting to shop for exchanges, but the employee eventually went ahead and gave me the refund back to my card. The second time, I did not have receipts for the purchases, but being a part of their insider program, I've not had an issue before. The associate today was not friendly, and seemed flat out irrittated that she had to do her job, and look up the transactions for the exchanges. I get that it is extra work, but I felt like I was being given some unneccessary attitude along the way. Just not good customer service. read more

I don't really shop here, even though I'm a plus size. It's more on trend than say a Lane Bryant (also don't shop there) which is a plus for younger gals, most things are just not my style. One of my friends always shop here though and I've been a few times to get her clothes. I decided to look for the hell of it with my mom since I was on the search for outfits for pictures. I found a pretty navy blue maxi dress and paired it with a cream lace cardigan that I really like. For $68 for a maxi and cardi that's $42 it's not cheap considering most branded items I buy at Nordstroms will amount to the same type of cost. Some of the things are nice quality though some really feel like Forever 21 quality for double the price! The one positive thing that really sets this place out from many shops is the customer service is tops. They're super friendly.they check on you, help you pair things together if you want. Was sad to find they have almost no formal dresses; except, some that are a bit over priced or funky colored! Almost went back to South Coast. I tried one more store! I was on the hunt for a bathing suit on Friday 4/19 for a vacation I had coming up this weekend. I was looking left and right in every store and with new luck due to not finding my size I stumbled upon Torrid. I was excited because I knew I would have a good chance in this store. And every experience at every other Torrid I visited was great. I'm familiar with the mall closing time which was 9 p.m and I knew with only a few minutes to spare I could briefly look and be out on time. I work in retail myself so I have respect for employees valuable time and was not planning to over extended my visit in the store staying past 9 pm. It wasn't until I walked in the door that I wasn't even greeted. And instead, the lady at the registers helping another guest stopped what she was doing to inform me that the store was closed (before 9pm). I really hope this isn't the training you instill in your associates. It was very unprofessional and rude. And because of this I will never be shopping at this location. read more

I wanted to write a review on this location in particular, not necessarily Torrid the clothing company. I came to this store after shopping all day for a dress and I felt terrible. The woman who helped me (I hate that I can't remember her name) was amazing. She picked out some outfits she thought would look good on me and they all did. I got almost everything I tried on! Came into this store for the first time excited to purchase from this store. The cashier was extremely rude seemed to not care at all. I told her i didn't have my id when signing up for the insider program. instead of telling me everything ran as credit she proceeded to ring up the item. I gave her my card and she then decided to tell me it only runs as credit i said so i need my id. My issue here was she knew i didn't have my id and could have gave me the heads up that they dont have debit. i left the item there and walked out wont be returning to torrid. DISAPPOINTING, DISGUSTED, DISMISSED!! I bought two pairs of these jeans last year and as someone mentioned in a previous comment, they fit great, but only last 2-3 months before they split in the thigh area. I purchased another two pairs of these jeans, received them today, such a disappointment!!! Far INFERIOR material, stitching, ratchet quality than the other two pairs I purchased last year! Why the change? The material is so thin, stitched poorly in seams, zipper sticks, on BOTH PAIRS!! Called their customer service and after being transferred to 3 people, I was told "I get what I paid for." WILL BE CONTACTING THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE!! I used to love Torrid, but their quality of products and services, have cheapened and deteriorated. $10 jeans, passed off for $60 jeans..I am disgusted!!! Customer since Torrid spun off Hot Topic, they just lost long time customer! I come here all the time with my sister usually the service is great from the moment you walk-In but today was a whole different story. Lazy workers didn't look like they wanted to work. I love it when they remind us of the specials going on I guess today was a quiet day. There was a line only 1 cashier and the other girl near by just sorting clothes not bothering to lookup to help. I spent over $160 because of the deals I looked up online that can be used in store. I believe there was a bogo sale going on and I had 30% off coupon which the cashier pretended she scanned and didn't bother to look at the screen to see if it went thru. I get home and find out it was not scanned. Smh! I could have saved an extra $20. Now I have to waste my gas to drive back to store to sort things out with my purchase. I should of walked out the moment I walked in and notice the vibe in the store. I confirmed my savings online and compared to my purchase so I know how much money I was robbed.
