This is a great cafe in Riverside...food was awesome and the people working there were very nice and accommodating..loved it

I used to work in the area and would frequent this small restaurant for brunch on Mondays after the grudging company meetings. The service was always friendly and down to earth. I always stuck with the chicken fried steak breakfast or the various frittatas. We never left hungry from the homemade goodness. This is a hole in the wall business so there is nothing fancy about the decor. They serve breakfast and lunch hours only so hurry in! read more

First, the food was very good. Portion size was big on the breakfasts. Cooked perfectly. The only reason to not give Lori's a 5 was that the walls needed to be painted as they were a tad tired looking. Everything else about the restaurant was very good. read more

Lori's Cafe has been here since I was a kid. It has changed names a few times, but a true woodcrest staple. I took my husband for the first time this morning and it was great. I didn't go in with high expectations or thinking it would be the best thing I've ever eaten, so maybe that's why I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the French toast and a side of biscuits and gravy and everything tasted as it should. It tasted as if it was made at home which I appreciate on a lazy. The sever was very nice and attentive. However I ordered an iced tea that I thought tasted bad so I sent it back no problem. The eggs frittata was very good but the sourdough bread tasted stale and the potatoes tasted frozen and thawed. The sausage gravy on the eggs was great. Just left there. When we arrived there was chaos. Dirty tables everywhere. The young waitress was instructed twice by an older woman to seat us then she just pointed. The table next to ours was covered on glass as the window was destroyed. The floor was sticky. Wow. The waitress brought my water and then poured a half a cup of lukewarm coffee and walked away again. We got up, I handed her $3 for the coffee and we got out of there. Okay so new owners took over this place and I must say I am impressed. Jose and his wife Joanna are very friendly and have managed to keep the old favorites on the the menu while adding a few new items . Still one of our favorite places to get breakfast and now they have menudo on the weekends w/pata. For you menudo aficionados the pata is special since not all places offer it. Deserves the great Yelp reviews for both food and service! Breakfast of waffles, eggs and bacon, and an omelette was fresh and delicious. Sunnyside eggs cooked perfect. Waffle served with HOT syrup, was a nice touch. New owner provided friendly, attentive service. He brought my daughter, a cinnamon waffle (on the specials board) to try, which she liked even more than her Belgium Waffle. Will be back! read more

Myself and a workmate called in to this place for breakfast when we were working in the area. First impressions really do not do this place justice, it's in a small strip mall, when you enter the interior looks old and dilapidated, there are about 6 or 7 tables. We ordered our food and I have to say it was fantastic, I had the sausage and eggs breakfast, my workmate got the french toast, I think he got the better deal, 6 slices of french toast was more than he could handle! A little bit pricey but well worth a visit if you are in the area, I wouldn't make a special trip though. Service was slow, there were only 2 other customers in the place when we were there, eventually we got fed up waiting for the check and had to go ask for it, definitely not the place to go if you are in a hurry. read more

Average food, prices a bit on the high side but who thinks in this day a soda is worth $2.50?? Never offered for a refill either. Other than that service was decent- not above average either. I would try a new place before thinking of going back. read more

Stopped by here for a stick to your ribs breakfast and that's exactly what we got! The chili cheese omelet, which was delicious and Lori s hash....another good choice. Our server Lynn has worked here for over 15 years and is a sweetheart. Definitely has become one of our go to places. Love them on and pop places. read more

This place has always been a favorite, nice and cozy. Definitely has that "at home" feel. The service is great they really tend to your needs. I forgot a water bottle to make my sons bottle once, and the waiter did not hesitate to bring me warm water ALONG with a cup of ice to cool it down if it was too warm. My girlfriend and I come here all the time I always get the chicken fried steak and B&G's every time i get a random crave for it in the morning all I have to say is wanna go to loris? She immediately jumps out of bed and yells yes!!! I eventually need to try new items on the menu but it's so hard when you just love what you love. Great place always great service and we have our laughs when I say no more coffee but he pours lol.. Ok maybe I need some more. Best Woodcrest breakfast! Great coffee and service is fantastic! Love the frittata too. Chorizo breakfast is very tasty as well
