On the way to Palm Springs we stopped at Flo's for a bite to eat. We were greeted as we entered the door. The friendly and accommodating staff were the highlight of our visit to Flo's. I ordered the Country Fried Steak, scrambled eggs, hash browns and biscuits with gravy. My wife had a BBQ pulled beef sandwich with fries. The food came out rather quickly. I was surprised that everything was only warm at best. The country fried steak was huge and smothered in gravy. The steak itself would not have had much flavor if it wasn't for the gravy. The gravy had a good consistency and ok flavor. The frozen hash browns were a miss. The scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy were the best part of the meal but both suffered some from not being very hot. The biscuits were light and fluffy. My wife was happy with her pulled beef sandwich and fries. She did say the meat was a bit fatty. The serving sizes were ginormous. I noticed one waitress walking around with an armload of food containers to pass out to customers. Since we were traveling on, we did not want to take our leftovers. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. The restaurant overall looks very dated. For the amount of food you get, the prices seem reasonable. If the meal I had is representative of the normal quality of food, I would prefer to eat elsewhere. read more

I want to start by saying it took me a long time to finally try this restaurant. Every Sunday, I see it packed and constantly busy, with plates coming out loaded with generous portions of food. I've always wanted to get my hands on one of those dishes, and today I finally did. I ordered a breakfast plate, and it was absolutely delicious. As someone who loves breakfast and is always on the lookout for great breakfast spots, this place truly hit the mark. Came in on a Saturday around 10am. The restaurant has a very "diner" feel to it. The restaurant was busy but we immediately got seated. The hostess and our server were so very friendly. We ordered the Hugo omelet with hash browns and biscuits and gravy; the chicken fried steak with country fries and biscuits and gravy and a side of corn beef hash. The Hugo omelet was HUGE (enough for 2 or 3) the hash browns were seasoned perfectly and crisp! The chicken fried steak was crisp and HUGE covered in the country gravy (standard gravy but good). The country potatoes were nicely seasoned and cooked well. I always try the corned beef hash-this one seemed like the canned type but it was perfectly cooked with crispy exterior-tasted like home. All in all a great diner with great service and great breakfast food. Would definitely come here again if I'm ever in the area! read more

I have been coming to this place for breakfast almost weekly! The waiters and waitresses are all very friendly! They even remember my usual order every time! I always go for their egg and steak breakfast plate. The beef is always cooked to perfection (medium rare). Their home fries are also very delicious ! I also love their chicken tortilla soup! I've always passed by this place and so I decided to try it! I looked at yelp for their most popular items, and went with the French toast combo with over easy eggs and bacon. I opted for strawberries and whipped cream. I had a coffee and they leave the coffee pot there, allowing you free refills. The service I had with the server Alvaro was amazing with constantly checking in if I needed anything and even greeted me on the way out. I haven't had service like that in a while. The French toast was not my jam, and the batter was way too eggy and I did not enjoy it. But the service and experience was amazing! They definitely have regulars and they seem to get to know them, from what I observed. I will definitely be back! But I'll try something else. read more

My boyfriend came before I did and he was able to snag a table for us right away . Overall the service was okay , it was a little bit confusing because my boyfriend said he got a different server and the server who took our order was different and it took a while for someone to take our order .I got the Spanish omelette and the salsa on the omelette tasted like Ketchup and it didn't have much flavor . The pancake left a lot to be desired and my boyfriend food wasn't any better. The thing that I found odd was that they couldn't add any fruit to my pancake and typically places can . First visit to Flo's for a mid-day meal and it was a pleasant experience. Two kind, attentive staff members greeted us right away, invited us to sit wherever we liked, and quickly brought menus and silverware. The atmosphere is casual and open -- it honestly reminded me a bit of a camp-style dining hall, in a comfortable way. Our food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the corned beef hash and the chicken fried steak; both were good, and my husband said the chicken fried steak was one of the better ones he's had. The coffee was solid and the rye bread was especially delicious. Wow!!! Thank you Yelp for leading me to Flo's Cafe. It's right off Van Buren and just minutes from Kaiser Riverside. Took mom here after her medical appointment. Lots of parking in a lot shared with many other businesses. We were immediately greeted and seated. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast which was super delicious while mom had a veggie omelet. I know a place is good when my 84 year old 95 pound mom eats more than me! Mom thoroughly enjoyed her omelet and loved the chicken fried steak I shared with her. For someone who kept telling me she wasn't hungry and just wanted coffee- mom sure knew how to enjoy her meal and mine! Thank you Flo's for the delicious food and warm hospitality. Found a live roach at our table during breakfast today 7/19/26. (We were seated by the kitchen just for frame of reference and caution) I visibly jumped from my seat. I showed the staff, who acknowledged it and attempted to kill it however it run in between tables. Staff members circled around asked what happened and brushed it off. The only concerned and active staff member was the male host. He was the only one who apologized and took action.However, we were still charged full price for our meal, they offered zero compensation, and just quietly took our paid check. Disgusting sanitation and awful customer service. Health inspection is urgently needed. read more

Even though my first eggs had to be refried because they were undercooked they still get 4 stars because the food was yummy. I highly recommend the home fries- the potatoes are super creamy and full of flavor. The hot links weren't very spicy but that's my personal opinion. The only critique is the jalapeño poppers, they lacked flavor and you could tell they were frozen. The service was great and our waiter was pleasant. The place is casual and gets pretty crowded. Service was very friendly and attentive! My daughter had the Bacon and eggs with fluffy tender biscuits and gravy, although the gravy was not bad the star was the biscuits delicious!!! My wife ordered the prime rib steak salad with very well seasoned prime rib and fresh salad!! And I had the California omelette which was out of bounds. Awful awful experience. Firstly, the service was terrible. Our waitress was rude and ignored our table for pretty much the entire time we were there. Several parts of our order were forgotten. The children's meals are a joke; 8 dollars for kraft mac and cheese is a crime. Also whatever you do, do not order the chicken waffle sandwich. The waffle is so incredibly sugary and has big chunks of sugar in it, and the sweetness mixed with the coleslaw & pickles is a revolting assault on your tastebuds. Their taco salad is awesome as well as their fish and chip. But what you'll really want to try is their Friday evening pasta bar. You pick all you want such as shrimp, sausage, olives, then you pick the type of pasta like penne, and then you pick the sauce, and you can mix the sauce too.
