I'm at home, recovering from surgery and I'm on a limited diet.I'm allowed to eat soft eggs and toast, which is what I ordered.But not what I got. How do you screw up eggs?You overcook them and u don't season them.How do you screw up hash browns you don't season them and you leave them greasy as he'll. I willl never order from here again. Gave Crest Cafe another shot and was glad I did. I ordered the Avocado Bacon burger and it did not disappoint. The burger was large and the toppings were plentiful. The only downsides were this type of burger may need a sturdier bun. The top was fine but the bottom bun was soggy. Also, the fries were a bit cold and not crispy. I also purchased a side salad and their salad is always delicious and made with a good salad mix, cheese, and crispy chips on top. I ate this the next day and it was still amazing! read more

This was my first time coming, and unfortunately the experience wasn't the best. My toast came out burnt, and I had to ask twice for my coffee because it was forgotten. I also asked for extra-crispy hash browns, but they were soggy. The food did have good flavor overall, but the service really affected the visit. It was cold outside and they didn't turn on the heater until other people arrived, so we were cold for half the service. The waiters seemed very rushed and barely checked on us, so we felt ignored. Not sure who keeps them in business. The first time I went, we were sat in the back and waited almost 30 mins for our order to be taken. The food was flavorless. Across from us was a table of workers just sitting and gossiping about customers. Told myself I'd never go back. However a couple of weeks ago a few coworkers wanted to try it out. Even with my hesitations, I agreed and went with them. As soon as we walked in we were met with an AWFUL stench, like sewer water, all 6 us paused and looked at each other. We still agreed to be seated and they sat us at a dirty table. The table itself was sticky, the seats had crumbs, even the menu seemed filthy. The prices are fair, the atmosphere is clean and bright though not fancy, and the breakfasts are great. I've never been disappointed by the food or the service. We've tried this place twice now and I don't think it's worth it. Both times our meal for three came out to above $75 and both times mistakes were made with our order. The food is not the greatest quality for the price especially with so many other good options in the same area. Some examples of what went wrong in our two visits: 1. Food came out at different times so we couldn't eat together (both times) 2. My order was put in incorrectly and I got a completely different meal - was then charged for the more expensive meal. 3. Tip was already included in the bill with a small party with no option to change 4. Bread pudding had whiskey that wasn't cooked off and still had a "burn" to it (pregnant wife couldn't eat her dessert because of this) 5. Chicken was overcooked and dry 6. Order was forgotten 7. I've eaten here 3-4 times and the help is always pleasant and customer oriented so you'll get no gripe from me on that either. The reason I give it three stars is that the food is very average tasting. I guess that is to be expected from a "cafe" but they could do better with some seasoning and imagination maybe. I've had breakfast (omelettes mostly), taco plates and liver so far. The Denver and Veggie omelettes are both suffering from zero taste in my view. The liver was cooked fine but the baked potatoe and brocolli on the plate were undercooked and not seasoned. The taco was ok but a bit greasy and I'd never order it again. The rice and beans...meh. I don't think I have every been in a more foul smelling bathroom in my life, and I work a blue collar job, where I have to use portajohns. It wasn't a smell from a prior customer, but raw sewage!
