Food is delicious and service is great! Highly recommend the short stack. Prices are reasonable!

Food/atmosphere is good! Music is obnoxious, so so unnecessarily loud. Service is good.

We had a sweet visit to Potawatomi Inn this past weekend. Our days were filled with nature hikes,…read morepuzzle building, craft making, swimming in the pool, toboggan rides and eating in the hotel's restaurant. The pros: -lovely library room - best views in the hotel, cozy fireplace and apparently, we were the only ones excited about the library despite the hotel being fully booked -the craft room was hopping! It felt like this room should take over the lackluster/outdated game room based on the strong audience (it was hard to find a spot given how many folks showed up at 4:30 when the craft room opened). They offer ceramic painting, wood items, etc. at an affordable price point. -you can't go wrong with the toboggan rides (its what their most known for) -lovely hiking trails and fresh air The cons: -Our hotel room was easily over 80 degrees with no option to turn it down (despite it being less than ten degrees outside, we were all struggling to sleep due to the temperature) -the game room and pool could use some serious attention - both felt outdated and dirty -the restaurant felt like it had a lot of room for improvement. It was a buffet during both of our visits and there was always a long line of folks waiting to pay, be seated, etc. despite their seeming to be plenty of staff. They also weren't keeping up on bussing tables, etc. It felt like leadership/direction was lacking from this room. Ah, it feels like with some small tweaks and updates, this place would be a blowout five stars.

However, when we returned around 3:30 PM to check again, there were still no rooms available. By this time, several other guests were also waiting, and no one was able to check in until approximately 4:30 PM--half an hour past the posted check‑in time. I want to acknowledge Ethan, the front desk employee who was handling the situation. He was polite, professional, and clearly doing his best. Unfortunately, he appeared to be working alone while managing multiple frustrated guests. I later learned he was fairly new, which makes the lack of support from management even more concerning. No employee should be left to handle that level of pressure without assistance. The room itself was extremely outdated. The carpet was old and visibly dirty. Both the shower and sink drained poorly, requiring us to rush through basic tasks like washing hands and showering. There was also visible black mold on the ceiling that appeared to have been painted over rather than properly addressed. We had hoped to enjoy a sit‑down dinner at the inn, but were informed that the restaurant only offers a buffet on Fridays and Saturdays. Considering these are two of the busiest days for guests, it was disappointing to have no alternative dining option. Additionally, the pricing was unreasonable--the child buffet price was $17.99, only one dollar less than the adult price of $18.99. We ultimately chose to dine outside the inn. Overall, while the location and staff member we interacted with were positive aspects, the management, room conditions, and dining limitations left much to be desired. This stay did not meet the expectations we had for Potawatomi Inn.

I ordered one dressed with lettuce & tomato with a side of fries & Cole slaw. Word of warning. Don't. Do not order this. The loin was pounded thin and beautifully fried. HOWEVER....ZERO taste. Zero seasoning. Zero. Not even salt. The breading was moist underneath and a little "doughy"- and sat like an old wet sock in my stomach. There was absolutely nothing to save this poor BAT other than copious amounts of ketchup for flavor. How in the hell are you gonna go to the effort of pounding out a beautiful tenderloin paper thin in spots and NOT even attempt to season your breading? No salt. No pepper. No Cavenders. No Adobe. No Lawreys. How does this happen? The world may never know. The lettuce topper was 1/2 Romaine leaf and 1/2 iceberg & wilted. The tomato slices (2) should have been thrown out yesterday. Pinkish & slimy - side of botulism please. The menu lists the "tiny little bun" as being "grilled". That bun never came close to the damned grill. It was a plain white hamburger bun as fresh as can be. A second plate should be brought so customers don't have to cut/rip the tenderloin on a napkin on the table. How can a waitress knowingly ask how "things are tasting" and not see you hacking this shoe leather bland swine piled on a napkin? Never mind. I was already turned off from the first taste while cutting it up & knew 80% of it was staying there for the trash can. No way any of that was coming home. My husband ordered a Ruben with fries & Cole slaw. First thing out of his mouth was "fries are horrible". Yikes! How can you f$&k up fries? Cheap fries in old oil without salt & they sat NOT under lamps....they were cold - only explanation. His Ruben came without any thousand island dressing & he was already pissed abt the fries. Smallest Rueben I've ever seen for $10.95 - fries and Cole slaw were extra. So for $10,95 that meat better be piled on the marbled rye! The CocaCola mix was perfect as was their unsweetened tea. We sat quietly waiting for our bill & upon arriving it was someone else's & needed to be re-rung. 15min later we're still waiting for it. We were one of 3, 4 tops so the place wasn't packed at all. Note to self - go to Mad Anthony's for tenderloin and Rueben and you won't be served disappointment with a side of sadness. I wanted to really like this place. It failed miserably.
