    Stuffed chicken breast

The staff were amazing and super attentive. This is the perfect place for a business dinner, date night, or anniversary. Additionally the food was so good I decided to go back 2 days in a row. The pork chop was hands down the best pork chop I've ever had. The stuffed chicken breast was just as good and super filling. Highly recommend coming here.

OMG what a meal! First of all there were 7 of us and the wait staff was amazing! From appetizers to dessert out waitress didn't miss a beat. All of our food was beyond delicious! Steaks, Pork Chops, Shrimp, Salmon, and Prime Rib all cooked to perfection! The place itself was beautiful and historic. Original tile on the floor, beautiful woodwork and just a great atmosphere made this night with family special! I was too busy talking and forgot to take pictures until dessert!

We had a work outting here in October. I think the place has a unique old school feel and thoroughly enjoyed the wooden floors and surroundings. The menu was good sized and had all the traditional steakhouse favorites. The server was quite energetic and a wee bit too flamboyant. But all in all, the service was good and attentive. The food and cocktails were good and probably 'great' for Auburn. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for the evening. I might go back if I happen to be in the area, but won't make a special trip.

We really wanted to like this place but we were left feeling disappointed. While the menu and ingredients seem high end and appealing, there seems to be some mishap in the actual kitchen/production of the food itself. Portion sizes vary wildly. Atmosphere: really cool interior and building! Loved the exposed brick. Drinks: great selection of wines and cocktails, which was the highlight for us. $9-$15 a glass for wine. Appetizers: the Millionare's Bacon and Surf & Turf Mac were good. Would definitely order these again. Salads: side salads were the size of an entree. The roasted beet salad was delicious and the Caesar & Wedge salads were good too. Entrees: this is where things fell apart. 5/6 of us felt our food lacked flavor overall. The veal was the best dish. Mashed potatoes were bland. Food temperatures were inconsistent. Shrimp was incredibly over cooked and rubbery. Amish chicken and was cooked well but again lacked flavor. This place absolutely without a doubt needs a new chef. You can't charge $30 a plate for food that tastes like it would get last place on Top Chef. Looked pretty, but that's about it. Disappointing overall. TLDR: come to see the building and for drinks and appetizers only. We probably won't return :(

Calamari appetizers already put some on our plates. So amazing!!

Upon entering we were greeted with pleasant smiling employees and a happy anniversary wish. The atmosphere is so cool and pretty. Our waitress was very attentive all night. Our entire meal was just superb from start to finish. We were surprised with a dessert on ACS. We will definitely be back!! Thank you for a great 23rd anniversary dinner at table 23.

This evening my parents treated me to an amazing meal in a beautiful location, Auburn City Steakhouse. The atmosphere of this restaurant is so neat, with the original tin ceiling, neat lighting, and comfortable seating. I appreciated that tables were spaced appropriately, with good space for the wait staff to move among diners. Our waiter, Frank, was very attentive and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the chop salad and the fish of the day, a cedar planked salmon with a spicy chili sauce, broccolini, and roasted potatoes. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the sides complimented the fish beautifully. I hope I will get to visit again during one of my future visits to northeast Indiana.

It was our anniversary and I made the note during our reservation that is was for this. Not expecting anything out of the ordinary, but not one mention of the occasion to use. Over the last several years when we go to dinner at different establishments with Anniversary reservations , they have all mentioned the occasion. They were out of three of the items that we requested and we had a 7:00pm reservation. They were only half way through their dinner service. My wife's first offering of vegetables came out looking over cooked and smelled like fish. The replacement dish came out smelling like fish as well. Our appetizer was a bit over cooked but tasted good. The entrees were cooked well and the dessert was amazing. Just wish it had been the full package and not have so many shortcomings.

As a guy with extensive experience the New York steakhouse circuit, my standards are pretty high. I age my own beef and not to brag but the steak i cook at home is pretty dog gone good and beloved by those who've eaten it. So for me bar is set at my ability to produce a great steak. That meaning for a steakhouse to be worth my money it had better produce something at least as good as mine. To impress me, your steak needs to generate a euphoria akin to that of an amazing sexual experience. Very few steakhouse have achieved this in my opinion so you won't see many five star steakhouses in my roster of reviews. That being said, Auburn City Steakhouse is pretty darn close. First and foremost, when you ask for a high quality scotch it's presented proper without asking. Neat with a large single rock on the side. Bravo. As hard as it was, we weren't quite hungry enough for appetizers but kudos on have bacon on the menu. You really can't call yourself a steakhouse without it in my opinion. Nor can you call yourself an American steakhouse with a proper wedge salad on the menu. Here is where i feel that Auburn City failed me. By the classic definition of a steakhouse wedge salad, a wedge of iceberg coated with fresh made blue cheese dressing, crumbled blue, tomato and crumbled bacon spell perfection. While I always appreciate creativity in cuisine, there's no need with the wedge. You just don't fix what isn't broken. Tragically, this wedge didn't even have the bacon ! Although the red onion isn't an absolute killer, it really just doesn't belong there. But walnuts on a wedge ? Un heard of and an absolute deal breaker for me. Call it anything you want but please for the love of Pete, don't call it a wedge on a steakhouse menu. Maybe at a gastro pub, but not as a precursor to a fine cut of aged beef. Moving along, the beet and spinach salad was very good (and appropriately named) as was the mushroom truffle risotto. The Brussels & bacon were top notch. The lesson ? Bacon makes everything better. Especially a wedge !! I had the prime ribeye and although i generally prefer my ribeye on the bone, a have nothing bad to say about this one. Granted it didn't look super impressive, but let me tell you it tasted fantastic. If you've read any of my other steakhouse reviews you'll see that i think tasting the nutty flavor that cones from aging beef for at least 40 days is what separates a quality steakhouse from a chain steakhouse. And if I'm gonna pay upwards of $60 for a steak, that flavor had better be there. And it absolutely was present in this steak. The seasoning compliments it without overpowering the flavor of the beef and the tenderness was reflective of a well aged and properly cooked steak. This place is very close to five stars. I gave it four stars for three reasons. The atmosphere is nice but being so wide open it's quite noisy, the alien wedge salad and in my opinion, the price is kinda high for the area. In New York i wouldn't balk at these numbers but in a quaint and tiny little town in the Midwest, it's a bit steep. But make no mistake, this restaurant is no joke. Best steak in and around the Fort Wayne area hands down.

Food was amazing, but I'd skip the parsnips I tried several cocktails and they were all good but the violet and salted castanet were the best service was spot on! We had Austin who was obviously very experienced and will for sure ask for him when we go back

Quick jump on the highway, and you're there! The exterior & interior are beautiful! The best wine I ever had was the Dolce Sweet red wine! Every time I went, I loved their food! Food is always hot, fresh, and great quality! The salad with the fruit in it was one of the best salads I have ever eaten! The only complaint I have is the parking. There are not a lot of places to park at all.

Unfortunately, this visit completely ruined what was supposed to be a special day for us. Our server, Amber, never once came back to check on our table after the food was delivered. She did not ask how the steaks were cooked, whether we needed refills, or if everything was okay. We were left completely unattended throughout the meal. At one point, my husband asked for more butter for the rolls, and instead of simply bringing butter, she brought an entirely new basket of rolls with three butters. We sent the rolls back and left the butter untouched on the table. A manager eventually came over after we expressed concerns, and we explained that Amber had not checked on us a single time during the meal. What made the situation even worse was hearing Amber respond by saying, "I don't deal with disgruntled customers." That response was disappointing, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. This was our anniversary dinner, and instead of enjoying a special occasion, we left frustrated and disappointed. We have always had much better experiences at Texas Roadhouse, which is why this visit was so surprising. Management should review the footage from this visit. It will clearly show that our table was never properly attended to after the food arrived. We truly hope this location returns to the level of service and professionalism customers normally expect from Texas Roadhouse.

Shorty's Steakhouse (Garrett, Indiana) - looking for a unique steakhouse, not too far outside Fort…read moreWayne? Shorty's is one of the Salvatori's Restaurant Group offerings that is located on Main Street in Garrett. Head north on 327 to the downtown area. Shorty's is set in a small and older building located on the east side of the road. You will need to park on the street - which isn't an issue in Garrett. As I said... Shorty's is a smaller venue. The building holds about 10 people at the bar and 90 inside dinners. The outdoor patio appears to seat about 50 people. Shorty's is always busy - especially on Friday/Saturday nights. So, make a reservation via their website. The larger side room can hold bigger groups of 8-14 people. Otherwise you are limited to a table of four. Upon entering the restaurant you will quickly encounter the host stand right at the door. There is no real foyer area to wait for your table. You may feel uncomfortably close to a stranger if things are backed up. The bar area is one of the first things you see. Legend has it that this bar was relocated from a Chicago area business who had it installed in around the time the 1893 World's Fair was in Chicago. The bar wood work, design and finishing are gorgeous! Very inviting. The older part of restaurant retains the decor of the old building - attractive dark wood interiors/fixtures, green plaster ceilings and hardwood floors. All are very comfortable and welcoming. The host and service team were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of help to hustle drink orders, refills and follow up. The kitchen is very small. Food orders may take a bit of time when they are busy. So be prepared to relax, enjoy a bar drink, converse and admire the renovations. Shorty's has a decent variety to offer on their smaller food and drink menus. They are more than just steaks. In general, most items are a bit pricey...but probably normal for most area steakhouses. Here is a run down of the food we ordered: -Table Bread: nothing to special; white bread roll with a firm exterior and soft inside with basic butter; tasted like it was freshly baked -House Salad: nice sized salad with a fresh taste and ingredients; several side vegetables and cheese to dress up/accent the salad; the honey mustard dressing tasted familiar - probably not made in house -Crab Cakes: my wife loved her crab cakes; tender, full of crab and seafood tastes; nicely grilled exterior -Prime Rib & Baked Potato: delicious taste, tender and smaller amounts of fat; my medium rare request seemed to be more medium as I didn't see much pink coloring; the real horseradish lacked the usual bold kick that I except. The potato was baked perfectly and accented with the usual dollops of smooth butter and sour cream. Good steakhouse choice. Overall, Shorty's offers good food & drink selections in a unique setting. Remember, Shorty's is a very popular place and fills up quickly. Therefore, plan ahead and make a reservation. Shorty's is definitely worth a trip to Garrett to give them a try.
