Tenderloin
Amy S.

First of all it was absolutely FREEZING in the restaurant. Several tables mentioned how cold it was. Very small restaurant so you can hear everyone's conversations. Both servers were running their mouths at the drink station stating how hot it is in there. Wasn't hot at all. Our server brought our drinks to our table, came back to take the order. She took mine & my child's, as my child is completing her order another table came in our server ran to their table as my husband begun placing his order. Rude, very much rude. The tenderloin sandwich is huge, 2 people could eat it. That bun is an embarrassment to the sandwich. However it could use some seasonings. The tower of fried veggies is absolutely horrible. The onions, mushrooms & mozzarella sticks all tasted like FISH! Gross. Waste of money on that for sure. Green beans are from a CAN. Nasty. Our server was all over the place. We watched her as she ran around, she would ask other tables how their food was, never asked us. I asked for a couple to go boxes, and FRESH drinks for the road. She said I'll just give you cups for the "watered down" drinks you have. It's no wonder we visit hardly at all. It will be our last visit.

Tenderloin sandwiches and Onion Rings

Just a short drive from Fort Wayne but we'll worth it. Went there for lunch and we both ordered the Tenderloin sandwich and a full order of Onion Eings to share. The sandwich was very flavorful, tender and juicy. Definitely in the top 3 I have ever had and I have had my share. We both brought home enough for at least 2 sandwiches each. Onion Rings were crispy with a unique breading that was very good. Will certainly return.

This place was super cozy. It was small and was divide into two parts. One side had the bar and booths. The other side had more of dining style set up. The menus are already at your table and the waitress came up when she thought you were ready. We came at a dead time so food came in about 35 minutes after ordering. But the food was super fresh and had a delightful taste. I got the chicken breast dinner and my boyfriend got the friend chicken dinner. I would come here again just for the vibes alone.

Chicken Sandwich and a half taco salad ... half was huge!

Love, love, love this place! I wish I lived here just so I could come in and see the smile on Larry's face as well as the crew who work here.Everyone was so kind to us. This is what comfort food is all about. AnI am a pancake fan and have found very few places even where I live that I enjoy. There's are perfection here.

We have lived in Auburn for a decade and first encountered the Brown House while we were building…read moreour house and would pick up dinner on our work breaks. The food had been consistently good. They have classic mom and pop griddled burgers, decent quality meat, made to order, always hot. You can choose from a plethora of fried goods and an in-house prepared breaded tenderloin that represents a Hoosier tenderloin well. In recent years, the business has been passed down to a younger generation. That came with some modern upgrades in marketing and packaging, including online ordering. The economy as well as new owners, has also made portion sizes smaller (a $3 French fry is now smaller than a small at a typical fast food joint) and the prices have also increased. Ten dollar burgers are standard most places now, but over $15 for a burger meal at a drive thru stand may be hard for some patrons to swallow. The custard and soft serve is delicious, albeit, still not a cheap treat. The staff is always efficient and friendly. The inside appears clean and orderly. The outdoor seating area and the appearance is charming, while still maintaining the old school vibes and nostalgia we all love about the Brown House. It's not an inexpensive meal, but the quality is good, service is consistent, and they still include the peppermint in your sack to round off your meal.

I got the classic brown-ie sundae, and it was wonderful! The frozen vanilla custard was dreamy, the brownie chunks were warm and rich, and the hot fudge sauce was thick and decadent! We are visiting family and they decided to take us here after picking up my brother's car nearby…read more There were 4 adults and a 3 year old in our party. We were sat right away. Greeted and drink orders were taken. At the same time we order a 2 item bites combo with the loaded tots and fried pickles. When our drinks arrived we ordered our entrees. Two of us ordered greens salads (which we bacame more and more thankful for since time just kept ticking away with no other food present). In fact we did not receive our starter until over 45 minutes after we ordered. We ended up asking our server when the food would be coming out. She only then told us that the kitchen was backed up. When it did come out they were both sitting in oil. They were piping hot which was a plus. But after waiting so long we devoured them. Another 10-15 minutes went by and 3 of the 4 adult meals along with the child's meal came out. We then had to ask about the 4th meal (which happened to be the same entree as one that had been received). Yet another wait...she ended up eating the child's meal since he was in full melt down over not eating and hers took an extra...additional 10 minutes. When it did come out. It was missing a side. Which we were then informed (an hour and 10 +minutes since ordering) they had run out of dumplings and she was asked to pick a different side. By this point all the food had come out. But it was all overly saturated with oil and no one got a chance to really eat so 90+% of it we had to box up and take with us as we were beyond melting point. We do not have Cracker Barrel by us but even if we did I would most likely not return after this experience. At any point before ordering someone could have let us know food was running an hour or so wait. When we said something to the cashier she said she had no idea things were so backed up. There definitely is a lack of communication. Had we known there was such a great wait we would have gone someplace else since a 3 year old doesn't understand such a wait for dinner. And now after the longest dinner ever. We have a 45 minute drive back home. Gonna be a late night.

Just can't get right …read more.. Ordered the sampler with three choices of meatloaf , chicken and the dumplings . Waitress advised me that they were out of meatloaf AS SHE BROUGHT ME MY FOOD. Offered another of the two I ordered as a substitution.( Meatloaf is the star of the show for me ) I politely said no thanks . The problem I had is when did they know they didn't have meatloaf . I would have ordered something different but didn't want to send the whole thing back when it was already here . Food ( that I got ) was a $$(turnip green were good) Service $$$ Price $$ Overall $ ( if this was chopped , they would have lost for missing an item lol) Every time I try to give the old CB another chance , I never fails to disappoint . I think the IDEA of Cracker Barrel ( old time comfort food ) is MUCH better than the reality The place was clean well lit and friendly ..

Unfortunately, this visit completely ruined what was supposed to be a special day for us. Our server, Amber, never once came back to check on our table after the food was delivered. She did not ask how the steaks were cooked, whether we needed refills, or if everything was okay. We were left completely unattended throughout the meal. At one point, my husband asked for more butter for the rolls, and instead of simply bringing butter, she brought an entirely new basket of rolls with three butters. We sent the rolls back and left the butter untouched on the table. A manager eventually came over after we expressed concerns, and we explained that Amber had not checked on us a single time during the meal. What made the situation even worse was hearing Amber respond by saying, "I don't deal with disgruntled customers." That response was disappointing, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. This was our anniversary dinner, and instead of enjoying a special occasion, we left frustrated and disappointed. We have always had much better experiences at Texas Roadhouse, which is why this visit was so surprising. Management should review the footage from this visit. It will clearly show that our table was never properly attended to after the food arrived. We truly hope this location returns to the level of service and professionalism customers normally expect from Texas Roadhouse.

The bread sticks were loaded in butter and garlic sauce. My husband and I ordered an XL pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was so delicious. Yes, we have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch or dinner. Cold pizza is the best ever. The restaurant was nice and clean. Bathrooms were also clean, that's a plus in my book. Nasty bathrooms make for a bad experience. Our server was great, altho it took her a bit to refill my drink, all is good she got to it. Over all we had a pleasant experience this evening. Coterie Pizza (hwy 327, Garrett, Indiana) - for delicious stone fired pizza and relaxed/casual…read moredining We made a return trip to Coterie after a 3 year absence. Coterie is easy to find. Head north on 327...about 15 minutes north of Dupont Road. They are located in a strip mall, just as you get into town, on the west side of the road. There is plenty of easy-access parking. The restaurant is smaller as it holds about 50 people. It can be busy. There are ample tables for 4 people and some for parties of 8-10 people. The menu is fairly small with only 8 specialty pizzas. Only two items on the appetizer menu - the beer cheese is a MUST try. The pizzas seem pretty reasonable priced for a 12 inch stone fired pizza - $13.45. Coterie has self serve beverage service. You can choose from one of five local beers - and pay by the ounce. Or you can fill up your cup at the soda/tea center. The team here is very friendly and helpful. They all work hard to make sure you have a good customer experience - which we did! Plenty of kitchen help to keep the food rolling..especially at peak diner time! Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Caprese salad: smaller dish for $5.99. All cherry tomatoes and basil were very fresh and cool to taste. The mozzarella cheese and toppings blended well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar flavors. Easy to share. -Beer Cheese ($6.99): a layer of pizza dough rolled out thin and baked to a slightly chewy texture. The dough has a slight garlicky flavor and cut into nice sized shareable pieces. The beer cheese is smooth, creamy and dreamy! You get hints of beer amongst the mild cheese flavors. The sauce is a bit thin and simply addicting! -Chicken bruschetta pizza: The golden brown crust is a little tough as it is well baked but still chewable. No special flavors are added to the crust. The bottom was soft and white. The chicken bruschetta is not your typical pizza creation. The tomato sauce was rather thin and only added a mild tomato taste zip. The chicken was tender and picked up the flavors that surrounded it nicely. The cherry tomatoes and basil toppings were very fresh and tasty. They blended really well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar drizzles. The fresh mozzarella cheese was sprinkled in enough to help hold all the toppings in place. If you liked the Coterie Caprese salad...you would really like the chicken bruschetta pizza!

Good ole pizzeria in Garrett…read more.. We've seen a lot of press about CP lately, so the ole ball and chain wanted to give it a Go... Good pizza. It's kind of light, fluffy, and crispy all in one. I really liked their red sauce and they load the pizzas up with toppings. Our bill was $60 for two pies (we brought home one of them because those suckers are yuuuuge), a house salad, and two local crafties... That's a win in today's restaurant price gouging world. The restaurant itself is rather plain looking, but it's clean and the service was good... While I don't think CP is on the same level as Oley's, 800 Degrees, or Three Fires, we'll come back because it's respectable pizza. Dave Portnoy 7.7
