I will not be back to this location. The staff working here have the nastiest attitudes. I walk in to three people behind the counter on their phones (no big deal). Two look up briefly and go back to whatever they were doing. None had the common courtesy to even acknowledge my presence. I chalked up the first two experiences to them just having a bad day. But no, they genuinely have horrible attitudes and people spend way too much money here to be treated in this manner. Clean house and get some pleasant staff or shut down. New Business Alert... I was the first customer to stop in this morning for their Grand Opening and was greeted by the most amazing staff Donyae and Mernan. This is where I got to try my first Latte. I was never a Big Fan of trying anything outside of my norm (A Nice Hot Cup Of Coffee) until I step my foot into the doors of Joe & The Juice. Mernan convinced me that I would absolutely love his Latte. He was so generous to even give me a complimentary cup on the house. Just let me say that he didn't disappoint me. The Latte was a bit too strong for me but it wasn't bad. I'm glad that I got a chance to step outside of the box of Coffee and try something New. Joe and the juice, a minefield of disappointments. This company has a lot of potential but the workers keep them from reaching it. I first visited this place in August 2021. I had always seen it but never tried it. I went in ordered a juice with a tuna sandwich and loved it! I was so excited! Especially because since I downloaded the app they gave me a free item after I made my first purchase. I even purchased a card for 10 sandwiches and juices. That's how happy I was! Down hill from there. I noticed when I order on the app my sandwich is ALWAYS WRONG! The app also makes customizing hard. When I bring it to the workers attention that something is wrong. ATTITUDE ATTITUDE ATTITUDE! One worker started throwing things and then tried to tell me I was wrong and I guess that meant she's wasn't going to make it over, thankfully there was another worker there who took care of the problem. But now anytime I try to order at the Huron store one worker always puts the butt ends of the cucumber on my sandwich, barely puts spinach on it and/or burns my bread, she's just a hot mess. Once my sandwich taste like it was drowned in salt! If they are busy quality goes waaaay down. They give you the foam from the juice instead of waiting for it to separate from the juice then pour your $10 juice. I also have one more card on my app from my 10 card combo but for some reason it WILL NOT WORK! I just gave up and its been there for months! My advice is only order if you don't want any modifications. Because if any problems come up they take it way to personal. Never order the cards even tho there's a discount for buying 10. My first impression is that they take a really long time to prepare drinks. People were waiting for their drink for a while kinda like how people are gathered around the barista at Starbucks waiting for their coffee. I also could've sworn two people who came in after me got their drinks before mine and I ordered a Chili Shot, which is a 3 oz. drink made with chili pepper, lemon, and apple. I went on Saturday morning. And I would think if you are that busy on a Saturday then you should have more than two people behind the counter. When I finally got my drink I told the person, I said, 'Wow, that took a really long time.' He said, "It's fresh." I usually LOVE Joe & The Juice. I was a bit underwhelmed and frankly irritated on this visit. Some things were out of their control, some were not. The music was really loud in volume. The style choice was super R&B mixed with a bit of rap. Keep in mind it's not even noon. Just a bit too much to get some work completed while having my Power Shake. The two staff members were really loud with their personal conversation DURING the order process. Just unprofessional and unwelcoming. It's comical how awful they are at this point, and how little the company cares. I only come back because i'm obsessed with the food, that's it. The staff is DEPLORABLE. The most beyond rude staff i've ever encountered in my life. They don't even speak to you, they just continue chatting with each other or eating behind the counter, no one acknowledges your presence. I was originally going to go here for a meeting a few weeks ago and thought it looked like such a unique space, but was disappointed when my meeting got canceled. So when I was in the Gold Coast the other day, I was very excited when I noticed this Joe & the Juice location across the street, and I practically ran through the doors. It was just as adorable as it looked in photos, but actually was a bit bigger inside than I expected it to be. The aesthetics were completely on point, and I loved the color scheme: pastels + black = genius. It was around 6:45pm, and there were maybe about 4-5 people inside. I knew that this place served coffee but I did not know that they sold smoothies, which, from looking at the menu, I assume actually are what most people come here for! They've got some pretty tongue-in-cheek menu item names, which I can definitely appreciate. I was meeting a friend for drinks later on that evening, so I decided to order a smoothie. I love a good strawberry/banana combo, and their Hell of a Nerve has both of those fruits plus elderflower, so that's what I chose! It was ready in a few minutes and while my barista was pouring my smoothie into my cup, I noticed some adorable Joe & the Juice stickers around the room. I asked him if I could have some, and he gave me two. Woo! It was really nice outside, but I sat in the shop and drink my smoothie for a little bit before I went to meet my friend for drinks. They have a lot of comfortable seating, including couches and tables with chairs like in any good coffee shop. I was super excited to see this chain opening in multiple locations in Chicago ... this particular location is just minutes from where I live... They also have locations in NYC and LA, and just opened up this location, the first in Chicago, with two more to follow. This space is sleek and much larger than I expected. They also have cheeky names for their juices like the "Sex Me Up" which consists of ginger, passion fruit, and apple, which is the one I ordered. It was actually too sweet and apple forward. I was hoping it'd be more gingery. They also offer a few juice shot options, like beet or ginger which come garnished with an apple slice. For sustenance there are also a few sandwich options. And of course coffee, not sure where they source from. I'm not sure this is standard practice, but lids to the cups are those domed covers like you would see for milkshakes (Will they be adding whipped cream to my juice?? I love joe & the juice and was so excited to find this while walking in the streets of Chicago! The decor and ambiance is the perfect place for a pitstop to refuel on juice and seems like a perfect place to study and get work done. They have a varied list of simple juices, mostly with 3-4 fresh ingredients each. I got a small sports juice which was tart from the passionfruit and sweet from the pineapple. They also serve sandwiches and other small food items if juice isn't enough to fill you up. This place is a bit pricey, but within the same price range you'd expect to pay at other juice places.
