I was warned... I should have listened. I'm new to the area, and several people cautioned me against taking my truck to Joe Cooper in Shawnee for service. Bottom line: I paid $800 for a repair. They did not fix it. They kept putting me off to make it right, claiming they were too busy to get me in. I could not wait any longer and asked for a refund. They refused. They said I have to pay even though they did not fix it. Beware, Joe Cooper has a policy of no refunds with the credit card companies, so you cannot even dispute the charge with your credit card. Do not go to Joe Cooper in Shawnee for service. You will regret it. read more

On 7/12/25 I was notified by Derick my service advisor that my vehicle was ready for pick up. When I arrived I was told my Chevrolet warranty wouldn't cover the repair and he would not fight to get it repaired due to my 1 star review I left due to my last poor service since it would effect his paycheck. On 7/14/25 I spoke with Leighton king the service manager and he agreed Dericks behavior was unprofessional and I would get a refund on the diagnostic back on my card. On 7/17/25 I returned to the dealership because I had not received my refund and was told by the assistant service manager that Joe cooper doesn't issue refunds electronically that they're mailed out. Well... reminiscing about what a positive car sales experience I had. Did that statement shock you? Well it shocked me. Let's keep it simple. Neil Dolin. God, I hope the man still works there, because he is wholly responsible for this 5 star rating. Rewind back to May of 2021: I was furiously scouring CARFAX, Google....eBay? for my dream 'stang. It's 2022 but that supply chain shortage was still in effect; was it better or worse? Hard to judge these days. At any rate, used GTs were selling at or above MSRP, but hark! I alas found my needle in the haystack: a less than a year old Mustang GT premium with a SEXY MBRP exhaust upgrade at a sub MSRP price. In a moment of disbelief and with frantic fingers I quickly emailed Joe Cooper of Shawnee at some ungodly PST hour. The next day I arose, almost like a kid on Christmas, to an email from Neil Dolin with a video attachment of a virtual tour of my soon to be baby. He highlighted all the main points of interest on the car and it passed all the checks. Enough so that I would commit to the 20 hour drive from California to Oklahoma to make a deal on the car. It was at this point I had thrown all my trust into a car salesman's hands. Woah Nelly! That gives me chills just typing that out, but when we arrived 20 hours later, hanging by a thread of sanity having not slept the whole drive, the car was just as expected. Wait, better! Neil had gone through the trouble of thoroughly detailing it from top to bottom! We took the 'stang, now dubbed Kevin, after it's previous owner, and he ran like a charm, a well oiled machine. Joe Cooper Chevrolet takes advantage of the elderly. My father went there to purchase a car and told the salesman that he was only purchasing for cash. My dad has slight dementia- and he only has ever purchased items in cash- next thing you know, he had financed a SUV way out of his price range. My father was adamant that he did not want to finance and cash was his preferred method. If you met my dad, you would know that he's not all these and likely didn't understand the paperwork they placed in front of him. After reading all the bait and switch, I'm sure that the sales person took advantage of him. (Yes, he had a decent down payment, enough for an entire car! But these guys also get commission off financing). It's been on my mind for a while and now I'm paying for the car as dad passed on... he knew he didn't need a payment and he knew he wouldn't drive that long. I offered to sell my car before picking up the new one so it wouldn't complicate the offer on their new car. I was told it would be easy to get what I wanted to sell my car for. I purchased a new 2024 Suburban last summer and if you plan on using their service department get ready for the disappointment. I have been trying to schedule warranty work on my vehicle for 3 weeks. They do not return calls and I have been disc on 3 separate occasions. If you live around Shawnee do yourself a favor and take your vehicle to Seminole GMC. When you call their dealership your call is answered by an employee at the dealership and not a call center. They are very polite and actually want your business. I responded to an advertised price on a new Silverado Truck Talked to Corey via message on Sunday and set an appointment for Wed around noon as it was a 3 hour drive. Called back on Tuesday evening to verify the vehicles were still available and talked to a Chad and he assured me they vehicles were available and he would mark them as such and to see him the next day. Wednesday Joe cooper Messaged me to confirm i was on the way and I responded I was enroute. I get there at 11:30 and asked to see Chad and after waiting for 15 min was told he was with another customer and that someone else would help me. The young man that was helping me could find neither vehicle even after I gave him he stock #'s. He made several attempts and after about 45 min found that one had been sent out as a service loaner, and was still looking for the other. At this time i asked if i could look with him in the lot and found the vehicle almost immediately. It had been sold, imagine that. At this point they tried to steer me in the direction of another vehicle Higher priced and different color. This is the classic Bait and Switch I left feeling deceived and Irate. I purchased a certified used 2019 Impala premier from the Joe Cooper Auto group almost 2 years ago. In that time, I have had the car back to be serviced 3 times. The first time was almost $2000.00 for an AC compressor. The AC worked well for the next 4-5 months. Then, this February a stabil-trak light comes on on the dashboard. The service tech says I need a fuel pump and new lines. (What does the fuel pump have to do with traction control?) After replacing the fuel pump and lines, he tells me that didn't fix the issue, I now need a new computer for an additional $1000.00. Today I picked up my car for the last time I will ever deal with this shop! They charged me $1800.00 to change out the AC condenser and recharge the system. If the young guy at the counter hadn't gotten snippy and refused to give me my military discount (which they had in the past), I would not be writing this. If you make the mistake of going to Joe Cooper service center, I hope you don't have to deal with Shiloh Vermillion the Lane Manager. His crappy attitude alone is why I will never be back there again. I will drive into the city, or out to Seminole before stepping foot on their lot again. In summation, a certified vehicle should not cost almost $6000.00 in repairs in the first 2 years of ownership, while dealing with this shop and the attitude of people who think they are doing you a favor. read more

where to start here bare with me bc this is gonna be a very long review! in October of 2023 I had been saving up for my dream car a H3 Hummer I found one on Facebook marketplace at Joe cooper of Shawnee. I went and test drove it and noticed a slight knock, I also asked about the tire pressure sensor that was on. I was really assured that the knock was bc they had just done an oil change and it would smooth out. waited for my title and ended up having to pay late fees bc they didn't do it in a timely matter and refused to give me another temporary tag. i had put every penny in my savings towards this car that I had dreamed of! I noticed the transmission slipping in December.By Jan my car was back at the dealership. I begged for a loaner car for three months and was constantly told that I was on the list and if one became available they would let me know. By the end of Feb, first of March I was beyond upset! they kept putring me off blaming it on the warranty company. i finally went into the dealership upset and they said they would have my car ready by that Thursday, Thursday rolls around it's still not done.Friday I went back in and was told there was a "oil leak" on the pan and it had already been approved by my warranty company. but they didn't wanna keep my car any longer than what they already had and they would put me on the list for a loaner and call me as soon as it was available. by July I still hadn't heard from them, my car was overheating and had no power they told me I was never put on the waiting list. I was beyond mad! I called Daryl Barett and told him every thing that was wrong including them slicing my underglow lights, he re assured me that he would make it right, he said he would get a hold of Jeremy Woods, the GM of that location. jeremy than called me and I explained everything including his employees leaving tools in my exhaust manifold that they said the bolts were broken off in. no response the next day the lady in the office called me and told me to come get the loaner so they could work on my Hummer. They sent me a text of what was wrong with my Hummer and everything said pre approved. Derek and I have Gone rounds and i had asked to NOT deal with him at all. Thirty days in I'm told NOTHING is approved again I fought with them after numerous lies and not returned calls I finally got a hold of Daryl Barret again and this time he had a major attitude with me. Jeremy woods called me and told me I needed to come sign another agreement I went back in and even though Jeremy knew nothing about the oil leak and he would call me back and never did the girl said that my hummer was in the shop being repaired. Another month goes by and again Derek messaged me being very obnoxious saying I needed to return the loaner and they weren't fixing anything other than the transmission dip stick I said what about my lights, what about the manifold, what about the secondary air pump valve they told me none of that was covered by my warranty, and they don't touch under glow! Again I called Jeremy and Darryl again no answer and no call back, you would think that when I'm spending 13 Grand on a car from you you would go to the ball for me and make things happen for you the valve is covered but they didn't wanna work on it! Jeremy said they fixed multiple things and didn't charge me I said what the transmission dip stick that's it!!!! I returned the loaner and was told by Jacob that I needed to get into my hummer and leave and where was the equinox. I showed him, when I got there the vehicle they knew was overheating was left running when I dropped off my hummer it had a full tank when I picked it up it was on empty! Hope they enjoyed running my gas out I hope taking advan of a single mom on disability with Parkinson's makes your heart happy! I'm glad you can afford to sit with your kids and have food to eat! I made an appointment to have my oil changed, tires rotated, and multi point inspection. It is to include a complimentary exterior car wash. I guess since I refused to have the extra $500 services they recommended they decided they just wouldn't wash my car! I called an left a message about car loosing power and asked if the could check it out but the service manager didn't bother to call me back. So guess I got the $80 oil change special! Purchased a "Joe Cooper Certified" Cadillac suv. The "certification" is described as "a multipoint inspection performed by our expert team right here in our service center. We check items such as tire tread depth, engine performance, battery life", etc. "Certification" comes with a 3 month "limited" warranty. Less than a week later and I have to buy an almost $300 battery. Batteries, though allegedly part of the rigorous inspection process, are not covered for even a week. They also try to sell you a $7k extended warranty through a company also owned by Joe Cooper, and charge $695 doc fees, among other shenanigans. read more

I contacted the dealer about a Subaru Outback advertised on FB Market place and spoke to one of the salesman; I asked him the Real condition of the vehicle, since I was driving a long distance to Shawnee and I was assured the vehicle was in great condition and has been dealer inspected and approved. When I arrived to the dealership, I found out that the vehicle was unsafe to drive, since all four tires were totally bold and one of the tires in front actually had cuts on the sidewall, the windshield had a crack across, it had to be jumped started since it needed a new battery, so I was still brave enough to jump into the driver's seat to give it a test drive, I placed the vehicle on drive and it felt like the engine jumped off its mount, I was then informed by the salesman that it may also need a block mount bolt; I didn't mind driving the hour (one way) it took me to look at the car, since I expected some issues with the car, since it was an used car, but I didn't realize I was going to be lied to totally misrepresented the condition of the vehicle and of course played by a Bait and Switched Scam done by a Reputable dealer! read more

She did not try to overwhelm us . She gave me time to pray about my decision . This was my son's first loan . She was patient while I explained debt to him. I could not have asked for anything more . I rarely do Yelp reviews, but sometimes you have such a great experience you have to write one. Mine was with Jeremy Woods, a sales associate at Joe Cooper Chevrolet in Shawnee. Earlier this month I went to Cooper Chevrolet to buy a 2004 Silverado I found online. My first contact there was with Jeremy Woods, and the word "extraordinary" almost isn't a good enough word to describe his level of service. First of all, the truck was just as it was advertised (better, really), which was a pleasant surprise. There were a few things I wanted changed or fixed, but honestly, I figured I would be told "sorry, you get it how it is." However, the price was great, so I was prepared. It was, after all, a 14 year-old used truck. Imagine my surprise when Jeremy said he would not only make sure the items I wanted fixed were taken care of, but that he would personally take care of bringing the truck to OKC (where I live) when the work was finished. What? I kept waiting for the "...and it will only cost you..." line. Nope. Just a smile and a handshake after the papers were signed. After that, Jeremy, his son, and even his wife helped pick-up and drop-off the truck for me at various locations around OKC (I have a crazy schedule) to make certain everything worked exactly like I wanted. And Jeremy was all smiles and positivity the entire time. We need more people in the world like Jeremy Woods. In fact, he should be pictured in the dictionary next to the word "integrity." So new tire a month ago. I should have known better than to buy tires from a dealer. Had to change one on the interstate. Then they want to charge money to repair it. Which is frustrating. They don't do road hazard and won't stand behind the product. And the manager isn't here to do anything. On November 23, 2022, I was looking online for a used car I could afford. I saw a 2021 Hyundai Accent and was interested in it. A salesman called me from said dealership and told me the car I was interested in was there and I should drive there and check it out or any of their other cars. I drove 58 miles to see the car and it was not there. The salesman said it was at another of their locations and should be there in a day or two. He showed me other cars I did not like. He and his sales manager talked me into going ahead and filling out the paperwork for purchase of the Accent in case I liked it. My Interest rate was going to be 15.99% at $472 a month. On November 27 the salesman called me and said the car had been delivered to their location. I took a half day off on November 28 to drive there to see the car. It didn't have any of the options that was listed in the online ad; Lane assist and brake assist among the ones I liked. It did have the backup assist. I almost didn't take it but felt pressured to do so. When I got home, I called them and said I definitely didn't want the car and they said it was now mine. Also, there were no floormats and the car had been in a wreck front and back. When I finally looked at the paperwork, I saw that the finance manager had raised the interest rate to 17.15% and raised my payments by $3.00 a month. Also, the odometer reading was marked out, and another reading was written in by hand on the front page. I might as well have gone to David Stanley. At least I would be expecting to be swindled. I have had issues with their service department before but decided to try it again and was assured I was in "the best hands". My brand new 2020 Silverado fails to start occasionally due to a drained battery. The service manager assured me they had "the best techs" and would find the problem. I had an aftermarket stereo installed AFTER the problem happened twice. The final time the truck failed to start was 2 weeks after the stereo system was installed. After 8 hours of waiting they concluded the problem was the stereo system installation and failed to acknowledge the issue happened BEFORE the stereo system was installed. Absolutely ridiculous. Salesman did not disclose the new car I was buying had been used as a loaner car, I did not drive this car, I had test drove a different car days before but that car had been sold.(same year, make and model) this car had 4998 miles on it. and for a new car the spare tire and jack had been replaced with another tire and a very used dented jack. The Finance department got a lot of information wrong when submitting to GM Financial then lied to your face when confronted about some of the wrong information. Purchased a 2010 Mercedes gl450 in December 2021. Here it is March 2022 I need a catalytic converter, new intake manifold and another expensive part I never heard of. I call try too work something out haven't gotten a call back. I came from Syracuse n.y and gave you my last in the middle of a pandemic only to be screwed. Didn't make it 5 months. Or a week without me making repairs. I replaced battery, oil cap that had a hole in it, and a tpms sensor. Naive of me to think those minor issues would be all there was. Now I just began a new job I don't know if I'm going to make it back and forth to. Thanks for nothing and horrible service. If I wanted to be fucked over this bad, I'd of just spent my money in N. Y rather than catch a a next day flight to spend 9700 on a lemon. I spoke with a GM there about my issues , he says yeah I remember that car, I'd of never bought it , surprised it made it to NY. I'm mentally overwhelmed having to deal with the attorney Generals office and the Oklahoma used car in parts commission to get my money back. I promised myself in the new year of 2018 I'll drive to OKC to have my car serviced. I took it to Joe Cooper near the mall for an oil change and for them to check the oil filter for a leak. They kept it three days, called and said it was ready. I went to pick it up and they charged me $125.00 for an inspection. I drove it home 20 miles and the check oil level light came on. I checked it and there was no oil showing on the dipstick. I called them and they said sorry the man forgot to put the oil in. They sent a man out with 4 quarts of oil. He added it to the old oil and told me to change it after I had driven 2,500 miles. I am an elderly woman and I am getting tired of being taken advantage of by so called respected business people. I hadn't planned to get my GMC repaired there since there are mechanics out there who will do as good of a job for much less. I wish I had followed this since JC only did part of the job and claimed I said I didn't want the other part fixed even though I never said that. Of course, to go back in an fix the entire tailgate was going to cost a big wad more. So I took it to somebody I trust and it cost me 20% of what JC was going to charge me extra. Drove from OKC and spent 3 hours here for them to tell me they couldn't help me after they took one look at my dusty truck and insisted they would take it to auction. I had a trade in and a decent credit score...and was turned away. I've been literally stopped from leaving other dealerships. They get enough off kickbacks from car companies at the end of the year that they do not need or want your business unless you're paying 20% down or over 20,000 for junk. So checkout John Vance in Guthrie instead. Where they will NOT tell you that your car is a piece of shit, or lie, or do a hard pull on your credit if they know they can't help you. The finance manager never spoke with us, a woman named Janine talked down to me for three hours and then basically said "lemme give you some advice sweetie" and suggested I ask my 80 year old grandparents to co-sign! What a joke. They never even attempted to give us options or an apology for that matter. She lured me 40 miles out of my way for absolutely NOTHING. Now I'm out a tank of gas for a 12 mile a gallon car, and three (nearly four) hours of life I'll never get back.
