We went chose a carpet then before we left, we selected something different. Pete came out and measured; the team came out and installed the carpet which we had to prepare for before the installation. When I went to check their work...They installed the wrong carpet. I contacted Pete and shared a picture of the sample he gave me vs what was installed. He called me and told me that the carpet they installed is better than what we chose so he's sure it looks great. I told him it didn't, but it's irrelevant since it's done. Not even an apology. I told him I would like to confirm I paid for the carpet I wanted (which was cheaper) and not the carpet he gave us. He said he'll call me Monday he doesn't have the information. Never got a call Monday. So I followed up and asked for my receipt. Which shows we were charged for the carpet they installed. To which he replied with a whole new story "WE did not have enough of the other carpet. There's only 20 feet on it. I thought we had discussed that because I didn't pick a cookie dough for you". I told him I was highly disappointed with this entire experience. We did not talk about switching the order back, I also requested a call back...which didn't happen. And now there is a fictitious story and all the while not even an apology. I closed with "we will not be using your company for ANYTHING in the future." His response "I'm sorry for the disappointment you were shown some samples sometimes the rolls aren't large enough...I'll make sure when the next experience that I make it up to you...I can't remember the exact line of communication because I deal with a lot of different sales, but I've been doing this for 21 years and usually do the same thing every time if I did and I apologize....That is really nice carpet." We had vinyl floors installed in our home, when we consulted with this company, they said no…read moreproblem. We can put it over your old, solid wood glue down floors, those floors are perfect so you can no problem put new floors over the top of them. They did not recommend any moisture barrier or anything at all, we painted a moisture barrier over our tile because we thought that was weird, but we assumed this type of flooring had a moisture barrier built into it. Not long after the floor was installed it started having slight movement and gapping so we called the owner of the company several times, which was hard to get a hold of and get out to our house and he looked at the house and said that it was our fault because we didn't want to pay for a moisture barrier, which was so far from the truth because it was never even recommended. Also, the installation of the flooring was an absolute nightmare, the two installers that he had at our house, one being his son, barely knew how to put the floors down and had to redo sections and had to redo our stairs because he had no idea how to do stairs, the nose of each one of our stairs have broken off over the last year because he did them so poorly. My husband's mother passed away last summer, so we have not had time to deal with all of this disaster, but as our lives are coming down, and the floor is a complete disaster, I decided to remove a piece of wood to see what the problem was, and why the floor was buckling and splitting and literally breaking underneath my feet, when I removed it, I noticed the black solid mold on the old wood flooring. Seeing that the last time I reached out, we were offered no compensation or money back or anything, I didn't even bother contacting this company again, I have six guys in my house, ripping this up. I have been suffering from severe allergies and bodyaches and wheezing in my chest for a month so at least I know why I have been so sick. If this is your company, and this is something that you specialize in, you would think that you know that this is a risk when installing flooring on top of old flooring of any kind. There was also mold on top of the moisture barrier that we put over the tile and all of the moisture barrier was lifting up because it was so wet between that flooring also, so it doesn't really matter if it's wood or tile, vinyl planking should not be installed over any old flooring ever, it should not even be an option. If you were a true professional, you would have told us no way and you would not have even put that flooring into my home. If you knew this was a risk because why would you make yourselves look bad? So not only are we out the thousands of dollars the first time we did before but now we are having to pay a company to remove the vinyl planking and remove the rotted wood floor and do mold remediation on my home and remove the baseboards and the shoe molding that we just put down a year ago and pay for all new everything. He did an absolute horrendous job installing the hardwood flooring, There are planks of hardwood that were NOT properly nailed or glued down, many planks have separated and can see down into the hardwood floor. and I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO LIST ALL THE ISSUE, and he never completed the work!!.
