I came today to drop off my clothes at 8:45am, and they told me that their computer system was down and was going to be back on in 20 minutes. I asked the lady at the front desk, could she keep my clothes until then, write everything down, and then I could just come back to get them once they're ready. She told me that she can't accept clothes if the computer system is down. That's just a ridiculous response when you run a cleaning business, unless you just don't care. I've been coming here for many years. It is the closest cleaners to me which is part of the reason but customer service is another. The tailoring/seamstress was another. It is fast and easy to park and get out of. The prices seem good, but I really have no idea as it is the only one I go to. They've always taken great care of what ever I brought in. read more

1/11/25 I'm writing to complain about Joe's Cleaner. I got here well before 4pm. The ladies were locking up when I arrived. Even though everything online says they are open till 5 on Saturday. The sticker on the front door says you close at 5. Including the sticker on the front door. They said they already shut the computers down and wouldn't get my clothes at 3:54pm. Even after I explained that they had all of my daughter's clothes and she was leaving for college tomorrow. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Horrible service. they opened my car door to put my shirts in and hit the wall, then they had the audacity to tell me it was my fault because I was driving too close to the wall. The absolute worst!! Several mishaps here over last few years this time took the cake. My husband dropped off for same day pickup (had a big meeting that I needed my suit cleaned for) long story short we go to pick up .. NO order to be found. The lady which btw is the only lady working said "your husband never said same day" I called ol hubs on speaker and she then admitted that it was a mix up but not her fault .. whaaaaa- then told her this was bananas and the nth time we've had issues from burnt clothes, holes, etc . If you're going to advertise same day service, should probably offer it. There's no reason why a single button down shirt should have a 5 day turn around, especially when you say you can have it back same day. Guy working the counter is a jerk! Came in to ask about getting a sport coat altered and cleaned. Ultimately was told "thanks for wasting the counter guys time!" Asked the man working the counter if he thought the jacket looked ok or needed alterations. He said he couldn't give an opinion as he wasn't the tailor. I asked if I could talk to the tailor but that work is done off-site. I said that I should probably just go to a tailor to get the work done but was hoping to get it altered and cleaned by the next evening. He said that wasn't possible which I understand is probably true. Then asked about cleaning my wife's machine-wash dress. He quoted my $10 and only $8 to clean a sport coat. I said $10 seemed high considering it was machine wash. Then he said "THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME." As I headed to the door " he said it again. That's when I confronted him because he pissed me off. Told him he was a jerk. He said that I wasted 10 minutes of his time. Maybe 4 minutes. Tops. The store was empty! I left the store and he immediately leaned a folding chair against the front door and went to the back of the store. Weird. I'll obviously never go back, but wanted to let others no what the customer service is like here. read more

Worst cleaner ever! Lady behind the counter has a terrible attitude and is very rude when you ask a question! She comes across as though she is doing you a favor and is very short when you ask a question and will argue with you about the question! I will NEVER return to this overrated and overpriced cleaner! Several times I've gone to drop off or pick up and they're closed during clearly stated business hours. They ripped a shirt of my husbands. It took over 2 weeks to have a few items done. Just overall so unreliable to get anything done by this cleaner. read more

Tried this place but had no idea going in how I was being ripped off. They don't appear to do any cleaning on site. Dry cleaned two cotton polo shirts and one pair of pants was 16.97. They smell of dry cleaning fluid. Button front shirts were 3.49 and not starched as requested. Two light weight cotton sweaters were 7.49 each. Never have paid these kind of prices except at Dee & Hattie when I have tuxedos cleaned. Very pricey for , at best, average quality. read more

Easy parking, good customer service, and seemingly reasonable prices. Under $10 for dry cleaning a skirt/jacket set. Two-three day turn around. Longish hours for a dry cleaning place too (til 7pm). You also don't have to pay until you pick up, which is nice because it makes the dropping off faster. They do have a drive up window on the side facing Mockingbird as well. The last time I was in the dude tried to give me someone else's sweater. Thankfully I was paying attention and was like nooooo! Hopefully whoever dropped off that blue v-neck gets it back! read more

Beware of this place. When you drop off dry cleaning and laundry together they will just dry clean it all. Even if you separate out the shirts to be laundered they still dry clean them. The reason is obvious- $1.99 for laundry and $5.99 for dry cleaning- 3x the price. When I asked about it I was told that the shirts had to be dry cleaned because they were stained and laundering wouldn't clean them WTF?!! On dry cleaning they put a damaged tag on every single item so that they aren't liable if they ruin it. I brought in a brand new skirt and blouse that o had worn to a wddding for 4 hours. They put a damaged tag on it and there is nothing wrong with it. It's brand new but it's how they cover their ass. Literally every single dry cleaning item I take there gets a damaged tag. If you use this place watch it and see if it happens. read more

SHIRTS WITH COLORED BUTTONS ARE $4.99! For the longest time, I used the dry cleaning coupon, and then after being pestered about always using it, I had shirts laundered. I was surprised shirts were $4.99. I asked why, and was told, impolitely because of the color of the buttons, which allegedly caused them to need to be hand pressed! I have taken the same shirts for years to other cleaners and they were never an exception. You won't here any complaints from me after a visit here. I've been dropping my clothes off here bi weekly since they first opened in April. Lowest prices in the Lakewood area I've come across thus far. The atmosphere is fantastic and the service timely and efficient. My clothes always come out looking fresh and new! The manager, Jason, is an excellent serviceman! He greets me by name and even recognizes my car as I'm pulling up and has my clothes ready before I even step through the door! I decided to give Joe O's a chance when I received a coupon for 5 free garments, I normally use a different dry cleaners that is slightly out of the way. I picked up my shirts only to find that several of them had ripped holes in them, and they had completely broken the button off one of the cuffs. When I moved to Hillside two years back, I was so relieved to find a dry cleaner nearby. After using Joe O's the past couple of years, I can say they are definitely my favorite. I like to stockpile my cleaning, bringing in 50-60 items at a time and I always get everything back perfectly. All within a couple of days, no weird smells. I took in a set of curtains to hem a few inches, and thought it would be safe to take them to a dry cleaner since it was a simple alteration. The first time I got them back, one curtain was almost 2 inches longer than the other curtain. The curtains were also brand new, and I notice there was a stain on one of them. I took them back and they were very nice about fixing the length and cleaning the curtains for free. Unfortunately, when I picked them up the second time the stain was still there and they still weren't even in length. Like that you have a drive-through drop off; dislike that you lost my shirts and failed to take any responsibility for it (or even apologize). I do not recommend donating your slightly-worn articles of clothing here. I moved to the Lakewood area about 2 years ago. Before that time I had been using a Dry Cleaner in the Uptown area that I had gotten so used to I was unwilling to change. After receiving a Birthday card in the mail (how they knew my Bday is a mystery to me...) I decided to give this place a chance. I mean it's right on my way to work, and they have a drive thru. They did a good job with my shirts, my collars came out nice and all my buttons were still on, so I'm gonna have to give them an A+. Have been going to Joe O's on Mockingbird for years now. In addition to their standard dry cleaning, which is always well done, they've done a great job repairing some items for us. Adonay is like family to us, and we enjoy seeing him every week when we drop off and pick up. He always says hi to our babies in the back seat, and they love that.
