I have always loved this place. "Live Oak Cleaners" do a fantastic job on dry cleaning. They are friendly and helpful. They even had sewing and alterations on Saturday. After the Pandemic (as in now) I was concerned because there was no mention of this service on Yelp. So I called the cleaners before going (with my many bags of clothes needing every type of service) and found out they now have alterations every day (except Sunday)! Hot dog! I have my excellent cleaners back. (In fact, they were never gone.) However, and the reason I'm writing this review, Yelp displays this place none-to one times. Please Yelp, list the Live Oak Cleaners as much as you do other places listed under "All Reviews," (I think). They cleaned & pressed two bright white chefs coats for me. They seemed to be pressed and starched as I had requested but when I took a closer look, none of the recent food spots or stains had been cleaned and one appeared to look even worse. When I asked her if they had even been cleaned she insisted yes and that the stains simply hadn't come out. When I asked if they had tried bleach she said no, and unhelpfully suggested that I could bleach it at home. If you can't actually clean my garment (that had recent, routine food stains), then please don't accept it to begin with. read more

New to Lakewood, I tried this cleaner. I had 2 dresses where deodorant had made a white circle under the armpit. I needed one of them for an event. I told the cleaner and they took them and marked the stains. When I picked them up, both dresses were still stained so I had to leave them again for a "second treatment ". When I picked them the second time, only 1 looked better. The other still had a white circle. I said I wanted to take it some where else. In spite of not telling me at any point they might not be able to get the stain out, and not getting the dress clean enough to wear, they charged me. Now I have to take it to another cleaner and pay them. The material wasn't effected, it just has a white ring, which I know will come out because I've had other cleaners do so. I also can't wear it to my event which is tomorrow. read more

I love this dry cleaners! They are fast and friendly, if I drop off on Friday morning my stuff is usually ready by Saturday. They are closed on Sundays and close at 3:30pm on Saturdays. ZERO STARS! This place ruined a $150 dress shirt by attempting to repair a tear in the sleeve. They completely butchered it by putting a patch underneath and running about 100 white stitches (the shirt is blue and white) in some kind of checkerboard pattern on the OUTSIDE of the shirt. I will post a picture if I can. I didn't notice it until I got home, but then took the shirt back and complained to the owner over the phone (she was not in the store). THEN, when she called us back the next day, not only did the owner refuse to undo what they had done, she also refused to refund the $10 cost of the botched repair. Not to mention giving us any compensation for the ruined shirt. The owner was very rude and told us to come get the shirt and that's that! She finally gave us back the $10 after confronting her in person. This is NOT good customer service. I will never take a piece of clothing to them again. DO NOT give them anything to alter or repair, it will be destroyed. read more

They didn't have their rates posted anywhere and the guy who took my shirts just gave me a ticket without telling me when they would be ready. I thought the shirts were clean at first glance but now that I am wearing one I see all these little streaky stains that were not there when I brought them in. My rain jacket is ruined after having it dry cleaned here. There is discoloration, and the original spot I brought it in for was not cleaned. I unfortunately paid before I looked closely at the jacket, but they will not refund my money. Absolutely, 100% disappointed. I have taken my clothes to this cleaners for at least a year now. I have never had any bad experiences with laundry, dry cleaning, or other odds and ends Kay would do for me and my jeans. I went to go pick up a blazer for a suit I have that she had cleaned before with no problem. However this time it looked like they threw it into a washing machine and dried it on high, and then given to a dog to chew on. Kay actually admitted that the jacket was not in that condition when I dropped it off, I dropped it off with her, she admitted it was her fault and her facility's fault. She owns her own cleaning warehouse where the jacket was destroyed. She claimed its because it was old. Um... It was 5 years old. Plus, it's her job to preserve clothing and keep it looking like new, no matter the age. She absolutely refused to pay to replace the jacket, she wouldn't even pay half!! All she offered was store credit. Now why on earth would I ever leave my clothes in the care of her business. While I was there the man that walked in asked about my jacket and he had said he's had a few items that she had destroyed. I was surprised he was even there. Like I said before, I will not be going back. Horrible customer service. read more
