Just left the Solomon Springs at Balmorhea State Park and looking for food! Just a few miles to Jo's Bar and Grill. Cute decor $1. Bills with a message. Nice Cantina. Now about the food! We had the 2 meat plate with French fries and beans. With added onion and dill pickles. Bar-B-Q sauce was perfect! Brisket was very tender and seasoning was spot on. Sausage was just the right combination with the brisket. We also shared the brisket loaded baked potato, there was plenty to eat, taking most of the potato back with us. When we arrived it was not yet open for dinner and we were sitting in the car waiting. Glad we did! The owner came out and told us we were welcome to come in and wait for the dinner staff to arrive. Highly recommend Jo's Bar and Grill! Down home barbecue done right!

I'm just passing through town and saw this little spot and had to stop by. Tamara greeted me with the sweetest smile and the best service. I got a beer for a decent price and headed to the pool table in the back, I came back for another drink and she made me a great cayman Jack margarita with grenadine and salt. I ordered steak fingers which I had never heard of before but absolutely loved. 10/10 if I'm ever in town again I will be back!

So glad I came across this place. I stopped in Fort Stockton but everything that seemed decent was closed. I found this place on the map and took a chance. It could not have worked out any better. Great little town, great view. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly. Steak fingers were amazing! You basically get an entire steak cut into strips and fried fresh. Fresh fries also. Don't pass this place up!

This place is an absolute must if you're looking for a comfortable environment and a wholesome meal. The restaurant/bar has a lot of character from the creaky wooden floors all the way to the dollar bill stapled walls. The service is very quick and kind. The prices are reasonable considering the location of the town and the quality of food you receive. We ordered the chicken fried steak which was hand breaded and not frozen. The flavor, quantity, and readiness was well worth the price. The fries were hand cut and fried to perfection. The corn was sweet with added chopped tomato adding a bit of flair. Drinks were cold and water was fresh. If your around it's a great place to take a load off and enjoy some local hospitality. read more

Great little privately owned made to order / house made food. Simple menu but very plentiful portions. Local natural spring follows by out front. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This restaurant is way off the beaten path. Driving on Interstate 10 from CA to Tx to visit my sister. Yikes, I needed a (#1) restroom break and (#2) some food. Sorry. The bathroom was scary. Toilet not attached to the floor. What a surprise when I sat down. This made me a little hesitant to order the food. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! The gal serving me was extremely polite and kind. The food was outstanding and plenty of it. I would recommend the brisket and homemade potato salad. Yum! Just don't come to eat with a full bladder. lol! read more

Great food! Fast. Brisket sandwich was delicious. We arrived at night, from the outside The place looks a bit scary. So the Restaurant part was deserted, but that's because all the fun was in the bar area which is in a separate room. The guy came by, very polite, and went to work immediately. Super cute, we loved the brisket nachos! (Nachos at most places are hit or miss...sometimes just a pile of chips with a sprinkle of the good stuff on top!) These were very well stocked, and the half order was more than enough. Will definitely stop by when I come through again. Very friendly service - we were "out of towners" and felt right at home. read more
