Haven't been here in such a long time and decided to try the other half of the menu this time. I opted for their Chili Cheese Dog, Fries and Thai Tea with Boba. Chili Cheese Dog: The picture really doesn't do it much justice. It looks like they just pile on a ladle full of chili all over the cheese dog, and that is what you get. However, the taste and flavor was delicious. There was ample amount of their chili and the regular fixings like onions, mustards and tomatoes were underneath. They give you a knife and fork to assist you with eating, which I highly recommend. The hotdog itself was nice and cooked well. Overall though, a bit messy but worth it. Thai Tea with Boba: Theybuse agar boba and not the normal black boba. Still, the Thai tea was really good and refreshing. A nice accompaniment to my main meal. The fries were just standard. Crispy and delicious for me. My rating for their hotdogs and their service is a lot better than what I had 3 years ago during Covid. A staple in bay point and I highly recommend. read more

Dudes in "the trades" work hard. They know a thing or 3 about his place to eat lunch. They had been talking all about food places and best items at each place. It had me grind hungry for an early lunch. I had just opened the app on my phone for the national sandwich chain when he mentioned a local hot dog and Chinese place. "Hot dogs and Chinese food?" my great was already set in a sandwich. "That's a peculiar combination." "Yeah, I had 2 hot dogs and a Thai iced tea with boba." "Wait what?" I got a hot dog and a polish dog. They were long. They come already with mustard, pickle relish, onions and tomatoes. I asked them to also add ketchup. The dogs are good. The buns are soft. Tomatoes weren't super ripe, but toppings like that are hard to go wrong. Atmosphere isn't very nice. Service is friendly and happy to help. Food came quick enough. I didn't try the bathroom. This is the best fried rice in America , I have tried to find better I have had some that compare some that may be More citrusy or a little more vegetables And they're very good. But overall, if you think of your standard delicious fried rice, this is consistently the best. There are usually two women working there who I believe are the owners. They are the sweetest and always provide great food and service. Even after I relocated for years and returned, they still remembered me. I would walk to this spot several times weekly as a kid and get a hot dog and nothing has changed since. My go to order is hotdog with ketchup and mayo only and fried rice with no shrimp. But I also love the pot stickers, pork buns, and chow mein. Grandpa- Chili dog , no onions, extra tomato. Girls- Combo fried rice and sticky lemon chicken (fried chicken pieces with a sweet lemon dipping sauce) and 2 Boba teas. (Passion fruit & Milk tea.) I've passed this place a millions times in the past 18 years I've lived in the area and never thought to stop in even though I'm a fan of hole in the wall places. In addition to the usual diner fair such as hamburgers and chili dogs they also have selection of "old school" style Chinese food (which I'm a fan of). I recommend the broccoli beef and fried rice. HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN HERE?!? My high school drama teacher raves and raves about this place. He would always say, "Back when I lived in Antioch, I would always stop by this one spot in Pittsburg. Josephs Hot Dogs. It's open. It's famous. It's recommended. Let's try it out. The problem is that on Yelp, the time it opens and closes isn't post. So I had no clue if I would even get the chance to try this new thing. So with my handy dandy cell phone, I called them. WHEW they were open, but they were going to stop taking orders at 7:45pm. I didn't know the menu, but the lady named each and every item for me. I decided to order a chili cheese dog with everything on it. I wasn't sure what everything was, but I was too excited to ask. Got there and admired the small building. Such an odd spot in the corner to be around. I entered and saw two ladies. They greeted me and one asked if I was the person on the phone. She gave me a menu to look at where I saw the prices. They have an absurd amount of hot dogs, and they have pot stickers and rice and won ton too! The chili cheese dog and a can of Coca-Cola cost me $6.43. I should have told them no relish and no tomatoes. I had to take them out myself. Now the hot dog is pretty good. I wouldn't call it the best hot dog I ever gotten. But it was juicy. The chili was tasty. The cheese is on the body which made it taste - different. I think I need to go again and try something else. I have been going to this place for over 20 years since I grew up in the neighborhood and Joseph used to go to the same church as my parents . They are great people and make great food. The house rice is the best thing on their menu. I didn't really care for the pork bun and I think sourkraut belongs on a polish dog. Those are the only reason I gave them 4 out 5 star. I'm not going to complain for cheap and greasy. But what this place offers are choices. I couldn't decide whether I wanted a hot dog, chili, or Chinese food. None disappointed. The hot dog almost tasted and looked like a caspers dog. However, most people, I noticed, ordered the fried rice. The fried rice was good though, but how can anyone go wrong there. The worker or owner seemed friendly and seemed to have many regulars. I knocked-off two stars due to the location. I did not feel as though it were the safest part of town, and the place itself needs to be bulldozed and bulldozed over. It was not very inviting at all. I came here as a last minute option and was greeted by two women ready to take my order. I ordered the chicken chow mien, chicken fried rice and lemon chicken. The place is a small square dumpy building. I sat and waited a good 10 minutes and could smell my food being cooked. Once home, the Food was still piping hot and tasted fresh. The chow mien is typical chow mien noodles with a light sauce and fresh vegetables. The fried rice was nice and salty and flavorful and the lemon chicken was crispy and tasty even without the sauce it comes with. I will agree the place is a dump, tables are Dirty, buckets all over, but the food overall wasn't too bad, mediocre at best. I will say it was a not bad hot dog. I made them like that as a kid. Basic dog, basic bun. A a slice of processed cheese food and too much onion and now you''re eating at Joe's too. What set's it apart from our homes is hot plates and plug-in cookers and tin foil lined counter areas in the back. I can only think of cooking chinese food in a laundry room to give the feeling without actually going there. Toss in a used swamp cooler in the guest eating area, a 13" TV, a parking lot view, and your Joe's Hot Dogs experience is complete! Joseph's has been around FOR-EV-ERRR! This place has seen 2 generations of my family. My older sisters school down the street, became my middle school, and was the hang out spot, like "THE MAX" was to the SAVED BY THE BELL teens! I'd steal my mom's loose change from her jewelery box and save enough to get a hot dog and a soda. I don't know why I stole the change. My parents gave me $5 everyday for lunch. Lol... This "shack" brings back memories of waiting for boys after school so we could throw rocks at them, before they got us first! It has the same smell it did back then and nothing about the food has changed. All these years, we've only ordered two items. Hot Dog. .. with mustard relish, tomato, onion. My boyfriend took me here because his family has been coming here for years and I was surprised that this little hut at the end of a parking lot had good food. The couple who owns it are nice. Chinese food with American? Not a usual combo but here, it works. We ordered their fried rice and their sweet and sour chicken. Fried rice was yummy, kinda greasy. Yuck, food not good quality. Ordered a hotdog, fries & soda. They served mealy undercooked fries. Luckily they made a new batch after I complained. Very weird behavior. Staff preciously guarded the ketchup bottle. Had to ask for it several times and they snatched it off the counter within milliseconds after putting the bottle down...and dirty looks to boot. I did not know this was a working restaurant the first time I passed by here. I thought this building is just here just to hold the sign up. Haha. Nonetheless, my friend is a regular here, comes often for hot dog take out and fried rice cravings. They actually have really good hot dog, and pretty decent Chinese food! Who knew that would be a combination at any restaurant? Location is... uhh... iffy. Cleanliness is... iffy. Service is.... nonexistent. However, Price is great! Food is also great! Got chili cheese hot dog, and you definitely need a spoon and knife to eat it. They are so not stingy with their portions, and I well appreciated it! This place has been around for a long time, I believe, and it's great for take outs or just a (really) quick bite. There's plenty of parking. lol. We have eaten here on and off for a long time. Have never been impressed with the cleanliness or sanitary practices. I decided to go because with Covid they must be doing much better. NO, THEY ARE NOT. It is filthy inside. They use dirty mitts to handle your bun for a hot dog. The hot dog itself was terrible for over 6 dollars. I asked for cheese because I love shredded cheese but no this was American melted on the bun then the toppings are put in. It was so gross. The worst was watching them take money, touch their hair and face and all things around the kitchen and NOT wash their hands. Not even sanitize.
