This place is truly a gem. If you blink, you'll miss it . The neighborhood around it isn't the most desirable but I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent customer service and delicious food. I've lived in this county for more than 15 years, and I have never found a barbecue place that I liked. This will be the first the ribs were tender and delicious. The sauce had a very nice flavor the only side that I did not love were the green beans it was because there was corn mixed in with them and I just don't love corn, but I ate it anyway. After church a group of us stopped in to try Freddy's. I had the 3 way...ribs, brisket, Mac & cheese and yams. The meat was completely smoked, flavor was on point and very tender. The greens fell short, I needed more seasoning. The macaroni was good and the yams...OH MY GAWD!!!!!!! The yams must have been soaked in all the tasty ingredients that they used. Me: it's oay to spend this much because I'll be controlled and make it last for multiple meals. Also me:this is so good I can't stop eating it. I've tried three different meats here: chicken, links, and ribs.my favorite is the chicken. My kid and husband like the ribs the best. Meat is tender and just falls off the bone. The Potato Salad is amazing and so well flavored. The dirty rice is similarly great. The corn bread is hit and miss. First time I got it, it was amazing. Second time it was overcooked (see picture). Ordered on DoorDash and was extremely disappointed. Probably the worst sides I've ever had from a BBQ place. Disappointed me so much I didn't even want to finish the links and ribs. Mac and cheese had no flavor or cheese. Cornbread so overcooked and dry, it crumbled. Baked beans tasted generic like it came from the can. Portions of meat don't match the price. I ordered a two with ribs and links with two premium side and cornbread for $35.11. The ribs were two of smallest pieces and the links were cut up small as if they took half the link to make it look like more. Freddie B's is a perfectly serviceable local BBQ joint. I'd recommend it as long as you have realistic expectations. The food has a home-cooked feel to it. Individual food items will vary accordng to personal taste. Service was good. Atmosphere is extremely casual, almost like an urban backyard family BBQ vibe. My wife rated her meal at 2 stars. I gave mine 4 stars netting an average of 3 stars between the both of us. I really enjoyed my Tri-Tip. The chicken was also very flavorful. In my honest opinion, the sauce makes the meal here. It was the star of the show and really tied all the meat together. I also enjoyed my slightly-sweet greens and Mac and Cheese. Cornbread was fine. My wife says the "lemon-pepper" wings were plain. Just picked up some takeout. Half slab of ribs, links, greens, cornbread, potato salad, and peach cobbler. Ribs were delicious, smoky, fall-off the bone tender. Greens were also good even with the stems included, but cooked tender. Nice sized cornbread muffins. We didn't like the potato salad. Peach cobbler was good, though the crust was a little soft. I highly recommend Freddy B's BBQ. They do need to change their packaging. The salad and cobbler came in these paper coffee cups that were not very appealing and the sipping opening in the top of the lid allowed food to spill during transport. Service was top tier. The portions of the meat are top tier!! I had a 4-way with chicken, ribs, tri- tip and hot links. The meat was fresh, tender and seasoned well!! My choice of meats were topped off with the medium heat bbq sauce and it was so damn good!! This is my third time at this location. It feels like you're pulling up to your favorite uncles house, plenty of parking and a very clean and welcoming environment.
