The only part of this experience that wasn't perfect was that my 11:30 appointment started 20 minutes late. Outside of that, which, frankly, is almost to be expected at a hair salon...I thought it was a great experience. I saw Chrissy for a color, cut and blowdry. I wanted to lighten up my dark brown locks just a shade or two and was adamant that I didn't just want chunks of blonde highlights running through. Chrissy was a thoughtful stylist and took into account what I was asking for. She advised on the color of the highlights and brought out a book so we could choose the toner together. She told me that all the information for each client is stored in their computer system so that in the event you love your hair and you say, "same as last time" - they can mimic it perfectly (or vice versa, if it doesn't suit - you can tell them and they can make changes based on what colors you used last time). I spent over two hours in Chrissy's chair and she had the perfect interpersonal style. Not too chatty, not too quiet. Perfect level of customer interaction. They run a 20% new client discount, so after that, I was charged $138 for all service. I love the color, she didn't take too much off during the trim and I got a great blow-out to boot. The salon itself is bright, clean and well maintained. The owner, Joe, was right there alongside his staff...sweeping floors, taking clients...that's a nice thing to see! My mother and I both go to this salon. Nikki Mangone is the best. Gives my mother and I the best blonde color ever. My mother goes every 5 weeks and Nikki will never do more then what my mother needs to raise the bill . She is amazing at her job great colorist and cutter and spending time in her chair is like sitting with a close girl friend. I highly recommend her and the salon prices are affordable always parking. Amazing is an understatement. I saw Nicole for a corrective color after spending 7 hours at another salon to leave with orange hair (I'm a white cool blonde) I walked in with at least 10 different shades of brown, orange and blonde and left within 2 hours with perfect color and a cut. It was like she snapped her fingers and worked magic, completely fixing my hair and making me feel like myself again. Also not to mention she charged me $100 LESS than the woman who originally created the disaster. Can't thank her enough! I get my color done here by Julie and I have never been happier with my hair! I have been blonde for ten years but I'm naturally mousy brown. She gets my hair platinum white and it looks so natural. I tried this salon a few years earlier and I was really unhappy with the communication level and effort I recieved, but a friend told me to try it again and I am so glad I did. My hair had been very blonde and dry with highlights my whole life. So for my Birthday my daughter had my hair done by Anastasia. I only wanted a cut and some foils to take out the bright blonde. Well listening to the hairdresser she was going to tone my hair and make it light brown. My hair is terrible how do you color someones hair so dark who has blonde eyebrows I look like a fool. I know my hair was dry to begin with but now it is so dark she ruined my hair. My daughter told her my hair was to dark and she said she could not lighten it because it was so dry. I was looking for a new salon then I read a reviews on yelp about Joe salon. Everyone seemed to like this salon a lot so I gave it a try. Chrissy was my hair stylist. I showed her the pictures of the hair style I wanted and I told her I wanted to dye my hair as well. She seem like she doesn't really care about new customers, because she said she had another customer coming in soon so she had to finish with me as soon as she could. Well my hair did not look like the picture at all! Totally different from what I wanted. The price was pretty high. I will definitely do not go back to this place and will not recommend anyone go either. read more

This place was nice looking and looked clean, but I didn't quite get what I asked for. I walked in with my hair kinda already the way I wanted it, except I had slept on it so the back was flat and it needed to be washed. I had it in loose curls and I'm ok with having it blown out just wavy with a brush, but my biggest thing was having the sides curled back and parted in the middle...like a 70's or a boho look. Instead I felt like he was rushing it and did his own thing. I got a half assed shampoo and then he took it upon himself to finish my style with a side part after I already explained how I wear it and I proceeded to ask him again to part it in the middle and his reply was "you're stuck on the middle huh? Have you ever tried it on the side?" As if I'm some poor little thing that doesn't know style. I don't go to a salon and announce that I'm a hairdresser like I'm a know it all so I didn't mention it, but yes I was a hairdresser for many years so his comment bothered me. In fact, my hair looked better when I did it myself the night before, but I wanted to be pampered today and have someone else do it. I didn't feel pampered at all. Plus, it's august in New England...for someone with thick wavy hair, a smoothing product like a serum would really help against humidity. read more

Had my hair done by Joe, and loved it very much! I have curly hair, which is tricky to take care of. I had asked for a trim and a blow-out. After seeing the results (I have not seen my hair looking this good, with the style doing it justice in years) went for Brazilian blow-out. Joe was very professional and knowledgeable, he answered all my questions and his advice product- and care-wise was priceless. Hairdresser had an attitude the whole time I was there, they claim to be a "modern" salon but had NO CLUE how to do the color I requested, and she also talked to me like I was dumb, pretty much just pushed me out the door. If you want anything other than some highlights and a haircut, dont go here. Never going back. read more
