Well, in late April, less than a year after getting this work done, my car starts having stalling problems. I took it into a different shop, and they determined that the alternator had completely gone bad and would need to be replaced AGAIN. I commute, but this was maybe 15,000-20,000 miles at most that was put on this alternator. After showing my mechanic my initial bill, he was floored at the price ($800-$900), saying it was double what was typical for that kind of work. I would NOT recommend taking your car here. I no longer live in the area so I can't try to get that alternator replaced again with them, but I also do not trust where the parts are sourced from. EDIT: In addition, when I took my car to a new shop to get the alternator replaced, the mechanic told me frankly: "You got scammed, the alternator [that came out of my car] looks incredibly old and it was never going to last very long."

Rental car, another two nights in the tent camping and $300.00/repair bill, paid cash, Tuesday afternoon, we're back on the road. Leaking again on I-70 in Pennsylvania. Called and reported it. WE WERE NOT WAITING on I-70 2.5 hrs from home. At home, after I found the clamps they used were cheap & like all cheap junky hose clamps, when you tighten them up, the clamps strip & the hose leaks. Also, there were other 3 other hoses leaking on another section of the car that needed tightening just a tweak. For $300 cash, the very least they could have done was snug the up. It took me 30 seconds to do it! We want at least 1/3 of the $300 back, since I had to replace the clamps with a quality steel clamps, as these cheap hubris clamps on their $300/job stripped.
