I found Joe the Handyman on Yelp and called him based on his reviews. He called me back right away. That was a plus. He came over in a timely manner. He was super efficient and did an excellent job. I had put off calling a handyman because I did not know what to expect. I am so glad I called Joe. I wish I had done it months ago. He fixed my leaky shower and replaced my mailbox and post. He told us our sliding door was going to be replaced in a couple of days. Mr. Joe did not have the courtesy to keep us updated. He told us he was going to show up to do the work but did not! He never called!!! He showed up the next day and apologize blaming some other company for the delivery of the sliding door. He stated that had not controlled over it! Really? What about a temporary sliding door or just a call the customer to let him/her know what is going on??? His work ethic is horrible. I paid with a credit card and he charged me an extra fee! His business approach and customer service is horrendous! I had no sliding door for a week! Do not use him he is not customer focused!!!!!! read more

I found Joe via Yelp reviews when searching for a Handyman. I'm so happy I contacted him; great service, great attitude, reasonably priced, quality work. Joe installed a vanity in a hall bath, removed a medicine cabinet/repaired drywall and hung some bathroom fixtures for me. Joe even resolved an electrical outlet issue I was having at no extra charge. Joe cleaned up everything, hauled away trash and filled the recycle bin with packaging from the vanity. I originally found Joe on Yelp when I was in over my head painting my office. He did not disappoint. I have since had him paint my whole house, paint my kitchen cabinets, counter tops, install base boards, door casings, new lights, reface my fireplace, fix a leak in my bathtub and put in a window. Joe and his workers are excellent. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of work he does. He is fast, efficient, gave excellent advice, picked up things when they were needed. Joe is a great handy man. I needed two ceiling fans swapped out and found him on Yelp. Read the reviews and called him up. He was at the house in 30 minutes and at a very reasonable price. Got the job done so fast ,he and his helper, made it look easy. I have another job hanging french doors in my bedroom that need to be done and Joe has the experience to do that job and we discussed it and it looks like he will be doing that job also, in the very near future. I had Joe out to do several small projects on 2 adjacent properties. Joe gave me quotes for labor for each house plus parts for the entire project and told me that it would take 1 day to complete ($940 including parts). At the end of day 1 Joe was only half done and then told me he would charge me again for the next day. We had agreed on the price for the project not the day. After arguing with him I agreed to pay him a smaller amount on day 2 ($524 including parts) because I had added 1 other item to the list. After day 2 he was still not done. I had to leave town and agreed to schedule the completion when I returned. Every time I tried to get a hold of him he said he was now out of town. That was 2 months ago. He also screwed up the water pressure in a shower and I had to call a plumber to fix it. In addition, I had to call an electrician to finish what he did not complete at more cost to me. Don't use him unless you want to pay a lot for an incomplete job. read more

Joe was indeed quick to respond and fit us in on short notice which at first was great. Yes he gives you the prices up front. And yes he picked up merchandise at the local hardware store and delivered it to the job site. All great qualities, but what disturbed me most was the work and his integrity. He was short on supplies to finish the job so I offered to run and grab what was needed as not to pull him off the task at hand, do you think he took that cost off the total NOT. After paying him for what I thought was a finished and complete job I noticed some problem areas and made attempts to get in touch with him hoping he would do the honorable thing and come back and complete the job, NOT. Or at the very least come back by and discuss it with me. But instead I Never heard from him again. They say never pay until the job is 110 % complete. I guess I had been spoiled with honorable encounters for so long I had forgot how pathetic people really are. Sad for him though he just screwed himself out of thousands upon thousands of more dollars in work that I have waiting to be done. As you can bet I will be looking else where. Joe has been out twice. The first time he and Felipe had to knock out an original door from garage to atrium, rebuild new casing, threshold, etc., buy and deliver door; paint the door and install hardware. Fantastic job. Yesterday they came back to do a long list of some of those things we tend to live with for years as well as more time consuming jobs including cleaning out broken concrete and refilling across house foundation where patio had slowly sunk over the years. They replaced four exterior light fixtures, put up new house numbers and removed a pair of floor to ceiling mirrored closet doors that had seen many better days. (28 years) They also checked all electrical outlets, replaced many and did those "hey, could you just..." tasks that a woman of a certain age can't do such as open an old can of paint, move a very large pot out of garage, lift down those mystery rubbermaid tubs from the top shelf of the garage, and so on. Joe called Danny Montano, Total Home Comfort to solve the mystery of a garage outlet. I am very thankful for that contact and the fact that Joe knew an excellent electrician and didn't just tell me to get someone myself. As soon as I recover from the prices of closet doors, Joe will be back to replace the pairs in each bedroom. A great guy who doesn't try to overcharge. Very reasonable.
