Chicken sandwich with pickles, Collard Greens with Bacon, Sweet Vinegar Slaw, Parm Garlic Fries, Classic Dippin Sauces

We have had Joellas several times and always enjoyed it. Disappointed that we are typically missing sauces that we pay extra for- so that's why I took it down one star. Outside of the missing sauces.. the food is great. On this occasion all six of us ordered chicken sandwiches, fries, Cole slaw, greens & kale crunch salad (some of the items we shared). We also ordered 6 regular tenders and 6 fire in da hole 'waiver worthy' tenders. Sandwiches were great and the cherry wine bbq sauce & bbq honey mustard blend are delicious. The greens were very good and we loved the slaw- we put that on our sandwiches. The fries were flavorful and crispy.. can't ask for more than that.. excellent with their ranch. The tenders are huge- the plain were crisp and excellent to try the sauces with. Fire In da hole is no joke. I love spicy and this one almost made me tap out. 2 out of the 6 of us went for some milk! It is delicious with the ranch as well. The heat + the savory ranch is a 10/10 combo. We will be back.. please double check your sauces! (We were missing 4 out of the 12 we ordered as an addition to the ones with our meal)

I ordered the Ella's Fav 3 jumbo tender with garlic parmesan fries. I don't think I've ever been let down by this order or restaurant when it comes to food! The tenders are always juicy and the fries are beautifully rich. If you want a flavored chicken from them, the Ella's fav is the perfect blend of heat and tastiness! In regard to service, they are usually a little slow to take orders. Due to that, I always order ahead on their app. The restaurant is always clean and well kept. The bathrooms are also pretty nice. Nothing fancy but refreshingly clean. Overall, I'm glad that I found Joella'a Hot Chicken because I always love the food! I only took one star off because of their slow order taking. To be clear, it is not due to their lack of experience or skill in taking orders. It is because when you order in the restaurant, the employees are in the kitchen and no one is watching the ordering area.

This place used to be so good . They changed their fries now they are lackluster rallys knockoffs. The chicken tenders aren't as big but are still delicious! Mac & cheese was dry and lacked flavor. The waffles looked amazing and had a great flavor but I wish they were more crispy . The employee was pleasant and the place looked clean . They were out of utensils however.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I am not from Ohio but I was in town for the iFly experience & this spot was nearby. So this was my first time being at a Joella's Chicken. The guy at the front was extremely pleasant to talk to & gave great descriptions to certain questions we had. They pretty much only had 1 meal , but the way things are set up here are similar to a 5 guys where you buy your drink & sides separate. Anyhow, I was interested in the Coleslaw Sandwich, the guy had described it had aioli and garlic , I never tried coleslaw like that so I asked for a sample. My man also noticed the mac & cheese looked a little flavorless online so he wanted to sample that as well. The place that I was standing I could see all the staff in the back & particularly this black woman who happened to be the manager. I happened to be a sista too so I was hoping that she'd get us together! Boy was I wrong . She was so disrespectful & didn't care who heard what she had to say in the back. "All they want is f-ing samples" then she pops out the back mean mugs me and goes back into the kitchen . My man and I literally looked at each other the second it happened & were made confused as to why we received that reaction. First of all, everything on that menu is $10+ so we wanted to make sure we actually got something we would enjoy & we already expressed that we were new to the place . I went to the restroom to wash my hands & when I came out the original guy I was talking to was mopping & I expressed to him what that woman said & thats when I found out she was the manager. Now as a manager myself I was actually shocked. He told me he did let the staff know we were new there & hadn't tried their food before so we just wanted to make sure we would enjoy it. He apologized to me & I thanked him for helping us. & I told him to let the manager know we all heard what she said. He goes to the back. Food comes out , in my head im keeping calm and not saying anything so they dont spit in my food . Our chicken sandwiches were not hot, they definitely have been sitting out but because it was flavorful I let it pass.. lukewarm chicken with decent seasoning .. alright next . The fries were truthfully the best thing especially with the ranchshoe sauce . That hit nicely. Their drinks were watered down. After we ate our food the manager comes out and once again mean mugs me & this time im keeping eye contact because who do you think youre putting fear in? Lol anyways she ends up fixing her face & asking us how our meal was but the way she said it was so condescending she made me think she did something to our food. I ignored her, then she came up to us & was trying to offer us a bag for our to go box that we grabbed up at the front & i told her we were good and got in the car. While i was in the car my man went back inside to explain why we were displeased with the service & he told me that the manager denied saying those things . We think that the staff member told her we heard, she got embarrassed & tried to salvage a "better" experience for us towards the end by trying to offer us things such as bags for our to go boxes & acting "friendly" by asking us how our meal was. I hope she sees this because ma'am you were dead wrong. Im not sure if you were having a bad day or what but we weren't being disrespectful to you or the establishment for asking for 2 samples... half a teaspoon of coleslaw & half a teaspoon of mac & cheese. Anyways water under the bridge, fries & sauces were the best part of joellas. I would get their fries only , with a popeyes sandwich or a chick-fil-a sandwich if i were to mix match foods. Ambiance wasn't bad, just reminded me of a nice indoor food spot.

Quarter Dark with ghost pepper spicy level and parmasan garlic fries

I tired joella's first time in Kentucky when I was on my way back from Atlanta. I was so excited to find it in Cincinnati. The food is amazing. The Spice level is a real deal. The first time I ordered their hottest level "fire in the hole" for which I had to sign a waiver. Kid you not I wasn't able to handle the spice level I stopped eating after my third bite and it took me around 20 mins to get back to normal. Lol. This time I dint want to experiment and went for something which I could handle so ordered the quarter Dark in spice level ghost pepper. I loved it the chicken was super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The spice level was justified. Their Sammie chicken sandwiches were absolutely delicious. A must try place for spicy lovers like me.

    Lunch special $7.99

YUM! Joella's has some dang good fries! Stopped in for the lunch special, $7.99 for two tenders, one side and a drink. Good value! Ella's fav falls in the middle of the heat spectrum and it's yummy! More flavorful than spicy, would recommend. Fries were pretty peppery but surprisingly not overwhelming. I thought they were delicious! I'd easily just order fries here. Mac and Cheese was okay, it had the same topping as the fries so they tasted almost the same. I'd skip the Mac next time. Kiddo's kids meal was plentiful, she couldn't finished her whole tender but chomped down on the fries. Great value there, too. Currently they're running a special- write a review on Google, show the cashier and get a free pie in a jar. I did not partake but the Oreo pie from other locations is great!

Jumbo Chicken Tenders & Waffle /w fries

Disclaimer: I ordered here from UberEats so I'm not docking any points for warmth of the food and going strictly on taste. I was feeling like a fatboi and got the 2 jumbo tenders with fire-in-da-hole sauce & waffles as well as the fries. Firstly, I want to say I absolutely love spicy food and all my friends said the sauce would leave your mouth burning so I was excited... anyways... So, the food came and I went straight for the chicken and was disappointed in the heat. It tasted like a medium sauce but, the chicken did taste really good and the tenders were a good size. The waffles? Sooo good. They were soft and buttery and my mouth is watering thinking about it. The fries were also exceptional and I don't really eat fries often... usually let my friends or girlfriend have the majority but I ate most this time. Overall, I'm giving them a 4* based on taste and what I know it could be. I will go in person next time to ensure I get that fire in da hole sauce!

There are A LOT of chicken places nowadays. This is my first time to Joella's and based on its website and decor it is meant to replicate a southern style mom and pop shop. With that as context, I left with an impression that it is "just ok" with some good stuff (i.e the chicken) and some mediocre stuff (i.e the waffle). I'll start with the food, then talk the atmosphere and decor later. The best part of the food was the chicken. My wife and I both had chicken tenders as part of our meals, and they were very large and came out hot, crisp and tender. They also had nice heat level at Tweener. Finally, they are served on a slice of white bread which sops up the spicy oil from the chicken, which is a nice touch. For sides we had the green beans and parmesan garlic fries. They were good. They came off a bit like mass produced. The reason I bring up mass produced is that this is the exact opposite I got growing up in the south, so I was expecting more of the southern flare from the sides and food in general. The waffle was really sub-par. It came out hot, but it had the same consistency and flavor of a hotel hot food bar where the batter comes out of a bag. Given that one of the hero dishes here is chicken and waffles, I would have wanted a waffle that is made with equal love to the chicken. Also, the "Maple Syrup" that is listed for the waffle is maple like Log Cabin is maple. It's like saying Honda Accord is a Corvette because the floor mats say "Corvette" on them. Calling it simply "Syrup" would have been more genuine and accurate. For the rest of the experience, it was pretty nice. The decor is cliche southern with tin roof wall coverings, but it was open and clean. The food was served with metal cutlery and on metal serving dishes, which was nice. The staff was very nice as well. Finally, they had the "to-go" containers as self serve which made it easy to wrap up the meal. Would I go back? Yes, but I would only get the chicken.

I love me some Nashville Hot Chicken! I had been to the Joella's location in NKY many times since its grand opening and loved it. This Mason spot is much more convenient for me so I was excited to see it was opening. I stopped in after the weekday lunch rush and placed my to go order at the counter. The girl that waited on me was friendly and helpful. I went with my go to order of 3 piece tenders, Ellas Favorite level of spice (nice middle of the road), with 2 sides. I change up which side I order, but on this visit I went with the kale salad and parmesan garlic fries. For dessert I was able to snag the last banana pudding. I was sad to see the nutela desert was no longer on the menu. I had to add on a drink, because they have Boylan sodas on their fountain, which are so good! All my food came out fairly quick, hot, and delicious! Only downside was it seemed perhaps the portions were a bit smaller than I remembered. The chicken itself is of high quality, not too greasy, and perfectly juicy. The restaurant was clean and quite large. There are various seating areas and even a really nice outdoor patio! You may place your order on their website if you wish for quicker pick up! There is a walk up spot just for these orders.

Used to be excellent until they got rid of the Big Wings and Bama sauce. Now the wings are bland and overly breaded similar to Hooters.

I've eaten my way through every smokehouse in Cincinnati, so when I say Midwest Best BBQ is the real deal, believe me. My arteries are practically Yelp-certified. The team of servers and cooks seems like they recruited an entire football team of young men from the University of Cincinnati; service so fast you'd think they were running a two-minute drill, attentive enough to make your mom jealous, and coordinated like they're protecting the quarterback only this time, the quarterback is your pulled-pork sandwich. Their wings, rubs, and sauces? Every single flavor profile was so good I nearly proposed to the coleslaw. And don't get me started on the G-Funk wings. They're delightful, though naming wings after a rap genre means you half expect Dr. Dre to hand you wet wipes. And let's talk about the smoking schedule. They've got a night smoker and a day smoker, which sounds less like a BBQ setup and more like a buddy-cop movie: "Day Smoker plays by the rules, Night Smoker breaks 'em, but together they deliver justice... in the form of brisket." Mark, one of the owners, literally smokes meat during a half-day shift with the love and passion of a Michelin-star chef who moonlights as Cupid. This guy makes ribs like he's serenading them. If Hallmark made a "Brisket Romance" channel, Mark would star in every single movie. I bought several pounds of meat to take home. Not "a pound." Several. Because nothing says "self-control" like hiding a bag of smoked chicken behind your kale in the fridge. Exclamation point. Period. Now, location... ...here's the kicker. They're hidden off the road over a hundred yards. That's right, it's the Area 51 of BBQ. You basically need Google Maps, a Sherpa, and divine intervention to find them. Yet, somehow, when you do, it feels like stumbling upon the Ark of the Covenant... ...only tastier, and fewer Nazis melting. Inside? Casual. TVs locked on Bengals or Reds games, so you can watch disappointment while you eat happiness. Patio? Shaded. Perfect for when you want to sweat from the hot sauce, not the sun. The sides? Top echelon. Beans, slaw, cornbread, each one a little sidekick to the main meat superhero. And for the low-carb crowd, this place is a protein paradise. Keto bros rejoice: you can bench-press your brisket guilt-free. Bottom line: Midwest Best BBQ doesn't just feed you, it baptizes you in smoke, sauce, and joy. They also have complimentary popcorn - and it's better than movie theater popcorn. I truly come here for the popcorn and Diet Coke. Their food is good too! I like their chicken tenders. Excellent fries. The atmosphere is always fun and lively. It gets pretty busy.

Our recent visit to Rusty Bucket in Mason, OH, was a complete disaster. The only reason this…read morerestaurant received 2-stars is because our server did her best to salvage the experience. We dined at the Liberty Township Rusty Bucket for years, and were saddened when it closed. But, hey, it was Wednesday Indiana Tenderloin night, so we drove to Mason. We were greeted as we entered, and were quickly shown to a nice table after being given a choice of seating preferences. Our server made sure we had everything we needed and took our drink and food order. Our beverages soon arrived, and then the night went quickly into Epic Failure mode. We both ordered the Indiana Tenderloin sandwich. They looked delicious when it arrived, but they were so over salted that they were inedible. We flagged down our server and explained the problem. She looked down at our meals and commented that she could see the salt crystals in the breading, then inquired if we would like them replaced or another item. We said we would prefer tenderloin sandwiches if they were prepared correctly. She returned a few minutes later, explaining she was informed that someone new had prepared the flour and new sandwiches would be made with the same flour mixture. Here's a clue, "chef." I rather doubt that with the extensive menu and reasonable prices that each sandwich is hand breaded instead of coming prepared and ready to cook from your purveyor. And even if they are, you throw out the offending dredge instead of continuing to use it. HUGE kitchen failure. Our server assured us that our inedible meals would be comped, and again inquired if we would like something else instead. We chose hamburgers, which did not appear to have been given priority in the kitchen based on the time it took to receive them. They came out hot and delicious. As we enjoyed our replacement meals, our server checked back to ensure these were prepared correctly. She again informed us that "she" - an apparent reference to an unseen manager - had comped the tenderloin sandwiches. Throughout the fiasco, and continuing on through our entire stay, no manager appeared to check on us. Here's a clue to the manager. We never ate a meal at the Liberty Township Rusty Bucket without receiving a visit from the manager. They always stopped by to check on the food and service, and usually engaged in brief conversation asking our opinions or telling us what was coming soon. It's your responsibility to smooth over problems. Hiding when things go badly and expecting the server to do your job is irresponsible. EPIC MANAGEMENT FAILURE. The final insult of the night came when it was to pay our bill. She failed to present us with an itemized bill, simply stating that she would get "the machine" and bring it to the table. When she brought the machine so I could tap payment, it only displayed a total with preselected tip included. I never had a clue what we were charged until I asked for the receipt. It was then that I discovered we were charged for more expensive sandwiches to replace the inedible food we had been served. Nothing was comped. No apologies from anyone except our server. I know there are places closer to use that sell delicious tenderloin sandwiches.
