The food is always very good outside of the chicken sandwich. We have gotten it twice and the warm mayo is not good. The chicken tenders, fries and city sauce are always on point! The service is great both drive though and inside and the ambiance is typical of a fast/casual joint. One thing to be mindful of is getting drive thru or inside takes a bit because it's all made fresher than other places! I was stuck on Raising Canes for a while so time to try something new. This chicken is free range with no antibiotics. They sell salads, sandwiches, tender meals, kids, and cater. We ordered: -2 Snack pack: 4 tenders, fries, drink -Side of City slaw For the sauce, I got the Lemon Thyme Ranch and my Mr got the Buffalo Bleu. The service was super fast and they brought out our meals right away. What I love about their tenders that it's super moist, right size, breaded with great seasoning and not greasy. The fries were well presented! Hints of grated Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the fries and garnished with parsley. The best shoestring fries I've ever had. We came here on a Friday evening for dinner because I just wanted something simple to eat but also I was craving a fried chicken type of sandwich. Surprisingly it was quite empty, they're only a couple of folks here and I was a little bit surprised. Anyways the cashier was super friendly and really nice and the food was pretty damn good. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the flavors were amazing. Lots of sauce, which I don't mind because I'm a saucy type of person. I really like their french fries too and I love the fact that they put Parmesan cheese and parsley as well. My husband had the blue cheese sandwich and he said it was good but he kind of wishes it was more of a blue cheese taste versus something a tad sour. Other than that the chicken sandwich is pretty good and again, I was surprised that it wasn't as busy but I guess there are a lot of competing restaurants around the area. Ive always been on the fence about City Bird. I had previously had them at their original location, and like others felt it wasn't the best value. This new location recently opened on my side of town so I decided to give them another try. I utilized the drive thru, which had a long line but was moving efficiently. This location definitely still has some growing pains to work out. I ordered the 4 tender box with city sauce, and a lemonade. I arrived at the window to pay and the lady took my card. She then handed it back and handed out my food. She then gave me loose napkins and silverware, which she handled with the same gloves she was taking everyones payments with. So right there they need to step up their cleanliness precautions. My drink was not provided to me so I had to ask again for it (it was indeed on the receipt). The employee was friendly. Heres where I am torn on the food. I really like the FLAVOR of the chicken tenders and prefer that, the fries and lemonade here. I do agree with others though, that the cost is a bit higher than nearby competitors. I feel those competitors have a more meaty/substantial, yet still quality chicken tender for the same price. The tenders here are quite small but do not lack in quality. These guys have a better selection of sauces and do offer sandwiches and salads which is nice. An absolutely perfect opening. Anderson has been patiently waiting for City Bird to open for months! It's finally here y'all! In the rain, the manager/owner was out talking to each and every car in the drive through, and there was a lot! He was SO kind, so funny and overall made our stop wonderful. I'm a huge fan of the OTR location and fell in love with City Bird down there. As the Eagle's sister store, you can bet this chicken is amazing. On the smaller side but once you know what you're getting into, there's no going back. Y'all can quote me on this: best fries in existence. They have a perfect mix of sugary/salty/parmesan herb topping. These fries are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Fresca is perfectly fresh and the Lemon Thyme Ranch dipping sauce is the cherry on top. Lettuce, kale, cabbage, red quinoa, carrots, raisins, almonds, with their chicken tenders. We got home, and I opened the box...not only was it merely lettuce, kale, shredded carrot and red cabbage (no quinoa, raisins, or almonds to be found...I checked thoroughly...) but the lettuce was brown, and the (3) tenders were tossed on top...full size. This salad was 12.00. Here's a hot tip, City Bird: how about, for 12.00, you include all of said ingredients that you advertise, and perhaps entertain the idea of slicing the tenders for the salad. They make 'that other chain' down the street look like the Jeff Ruby of chicken places. (And THAT 'other chain' isn't a local one either...) So disappointing. The coleslaw is good though. I opted for the 4 piece tenders with fries and ordered a side of city slaw as well. They give you a choice of house-made sauces and I went with the lemon thyme ranch. The tenders themselves were so good that they didn't really need the sauce but it was really good too. The slaw was definitely homemade and very fresh. The fries were very good too, with just the right amount of seasoning, parmesan cheese, and parsley. Good place for sure and I'm glad I gave it a shot. The long awaited Citybird Tenders on Beechmont Ave. is now open! Citybird may be my favorite place for fast food tenders. Tenders are plump and juicy. This comes from the brining process. They prefected the process with The Eagle, and have transitioned it to Citybird Tenders. Tenders are also well seasoned. Much of the crispness is maintained during travel. Just an FYI, size wise, tenders are on the smalish size. Closer to Chick-fil-A in size than say Raising Cane's. Drive-thru moved quickly. I can't wait to be able to eat inside. Their fries did not fair as well on the drive home. They were room temperature and stale. Flavor was everything I expect from Citybird. Fries are tossed in a mixture of parsley, parmesan, salt, pepper and a hint of sugar. They pair well with the lemon thyme ranch. read more

This place has such a unique taste compared to competitors and everything is always so fresh. Tell me how it takes 20 minutes to get 1 sandwich when I'm one of 2 cars in the drive thru line? I order my food quickly then pull behind the only other car in the drive thru as they are getting their food. They don't drive away though, instead the employee is almost hanging out the window having a full conversation with that car. I originally thought they must have a big order and they're waiting on something but after 10 minutes they drive off without getting anything else. I'm already a little annoyed but I pull up and the same employee that helped the previous card greets me and charges my card and I still leave a 20% tip. He said my food will be right out and he steps away. I sit there for another 5 minutes. At this point, another car pulls up behind me and a different employee pops his head out the window and greets me and tries to charge me again (presumably thinking I was the car behind me). I tell him I already paid and I wanted my food. He looks a little confused but he steps away and hands me my food. I check it before I leave and it's cold! I was wondering when this location was going to open and it finally did a couple of days ago. I stopped in at about 3:15pm today (a Friday) and was happy to see a local business reasonably busy at an off time. The line in the drive through moved acceptably fast and my order was correct. The taste and quality of the food was good, but the issue here is the price and quantity. I got the 6 tender meal and paid $1.50 extra for a salad instead of fries so it came out to be $11. I actually thought the salad was quite good. The problem is, for $11 and it being 6 tenders, I would expect a fairly large amount of chicken, but the tenders were all on the tiny side. One in particular was more like a chicken nugget from Chick-Fil-A than a tender but that apparently still counts. These were more like slivers of chicken than tenders overall. I got the hot honey sauce and my only complaint is that it was very runny. I was expecting it to be more like straight honey with a kick. I hate to say this as I would much rather support a local business but with a Raising Cane's location directly across the street that also just recently opened, you guys are going to be in trouble if you do not fix the price to quantity ratio immediately! Also on a side note, I was given my box of food with a plastic fork and napkins sitting on top of it through the drive through window without any of it being in a bag or anything. The box of food did have a sticker on it as a seal, but with COVID-19 going on, you should not be giving out napkins and utensils without them being sealed up! read more

I like City Bird! Their cole slaw is fresh, crunchy, and made with very healthy ingredients. The chicken is tender and very juicy. They only use the tenderloin of the breast. Quite a fancy cut. The tenders are smaller than other restaurants. I'm a big fella, so I get about 9-12 tenders. I've never seen a restaurant use the actual tenderloin cut. Any other chicken restaurant uses cut up chicken breast. Not so here! Their French fries are seasoned really well too! I like the shoestring shape of the French fries. First time in the drive thru at CityBird on Beechmont. The food did not disappoint! The drive thru line was long, but once we ordered and got to the window, the food was ready immediately - and we had a big order too! The city bird sandwiches were great with a nice texture of a bun. The tenders with hot honey sauce were the perfect amount of spice and sweet. The fries are really good too! Even for takeout, they kept the texture and didn't get soggy. I think the salad could use a sweetness like dried cranberries on it, but other than that it was very satisfying with the green goddess dressing. We will be back! read more

I was SEVERELY disappointed in the quality of the chicken tender at the new City Bird location in Anderson Township. I got an order from the drive-thru and when I got home I discovered that the tenders were so scrawny that they weren't any bigger around than my thumb and I don't have large hands. The taste of the tenders was the worst that I've ever had. Even worse than the chicken tenders you get from Long John Silvers that have been cooked in the same oil as the fish. Citybird is a welcome addition to an admittedly crowded chicken joint roster along Beechmont Ave. The chicken tenders are a bit spicy, but very well executed along with some inventive and unique dipping sauces. The fries are head and shoulders above the others; seasoned and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. I've heard good things about the sandwiches but have not yet ventured into that part of the menu. If there are any drawbacks, the portion sizes tend to be a bit lacking with the tenders themselves being noticeably smaller than the most obvious competitor across the street, but the overall quality is much better. We arrived at 9:15 (closing time is 10pm), they had just mopped the floors so when we entered the building, the staff just glared at us & not one of them greeted us or even initiated taking our order.. I just had to speak up. The staff was so unfriendly, and when we received our food it was ice cold & hard as a rock. We felt uncomfortable approaching the staff, so we ate quickly & left. We felt like we were on eggshells being there. We were nothing but polite and as mentioned we used to be regulars, so I'm not sure why we were treated so differently this time. Yes the flavor was very good but the portions are an insult. They charge about 30% more than the place across the street but have about a third the food. Quality ingredients or not that's unacceptable. Everyone else in the family had similar sized portions. And on my wife's salad she had ordered the green goddess dressing.
