Been wanting to try this place for a long time, so I stopped in today. Tried the burnt ends and the Cuban sandwich. Burnt ends sauce was really tasty, the ends themselves were ok, not as burnt as I'd like but that's preferential and to each their own. Was a bit more fat on them than I expected, but again, some folks enjoy that, so just information. Cuban was very good. First off, it's hard to find a decent (if any) Cuban in Cincinnati, so kudos for offering one! The pork, pickles and cheese were all tasty and bread was pressed and indeed crunchy. I also felt it was good value for money at $11 with fries. The fries are coated, which I don't like at all, but again that's my preference and bears no weight here as many people like that. I asked for them crispy and they accommodated which I appreciate. Ambience is good, low light with TVs going and a welcoming feel. I would recommend this place for the Cuban alone so give it a try. The server Sara was very nice and really just pleasant in a genuine manner which was refreshing. She seemed earnestly happy that anyone came in and treated them as such. Good job Sara! read more

Used to come by weekly. The food has gotten worse and worse, the service has been lacking over the last year. The portions are now TINY, the food is bland and doesn't resemble anything we've had in the past! We got thrown into a corner with no view of the TV but the kitchen staff/manager would come out directly next to our table to yell at the games. Servers wanna rush you to order so they can sit at the front. They also sit behind the drinking rack and listen to your convo. Used to be a great place but for 2 adults, no drinks, no apps and no dessert $52 before tip is stupid! See the pics? The broccoli had so much water, I think it was microwaved frozen. We were here a few years ago and had a good lunch. No so, this time! We had a hamburger and their fish and chips. The burger was OK but the F&C was advertised as a half pound of fish. It was not even close! I was served three triangular patties that were more breading than fish. I pointed this out to the waitress who just shrugged it off. Overall our experience was great! The food was tasty, service was quick and the prices were pretty average for local restaurant in the area. We will definitely be back in the future! The food was really good. The French fries were crispy, the black bean burger a little spicy and my husband enjoyed his sandwich. The only thing that threw us both off was the coleslaw. My husband had been on the search for a good slaw for a few years and still hasn't found the place. It's named "Spicy Coleslaw" but there was nothing spicy about it. It tasted pretty plain. I've been to lucky dog numerous times but back then I didn't do yelp and despised people who took pictures of their food... now I have self hate... I work through it every day. Anyways, this place is hard for me to rank as I've had 5* experiences and 4*. Mostly 4* so I'll go with that for now because that was my last experience. The atmosphere is definitely a sports bar feel and I mean that in a good way. It's relaxed and you could definitely bring your kids and family here during a game without being heckled. If I remember correctly this is a Browns bar so expect to see the Browns on. The service has always been great. They are attentive and will answer any questions you have about the menu or beer selections. The last time I went I sat at the bar and she was very nice. She helped me choose between a few options I was stuck over. Food here is great. In recent memory I've had the philly (amazing!!), and the Cuban (pretty good), and in the past I think it was Cajun pasta (?)(but it was very good). They have a nice selection for everyone and everyone I've went with has always enjoyed their food. First thing you see as you enter is a pre-apology bite on the door stating they are sorry they can't find people to work there and please be patient. We sat with a party of four in a highly visible table in full view of the host stand. 15 Minutes later after we were sat and given menus no one said a word to us or looked at us. There were about 5 or 6 servers walking around chit chatting, and hanging out at the host stand. No one seemed busy or in a hurry, just like they were hanging out having a relaxing time. One gentleman with large hair and large mustache walked back and forth from the back tj the host stand about 5 times never carrying anything and just strolling along. With the note on the door as a sign they've given up and plenty of other restaurants in the area we stood up and walked out. Another gentleman wearing rainbow shoes that had also walked by us a couple times looks at us as we were leaving but didn't say anything. I looked at him and shrugged oh well. Wing Of The North! If you know .. you know Picked up some smoked wings for a night in with friends and these bad boys did not disappoint! I've never been to Lucky Dog but I've heard that these wings are worth the special trip. Couple things to note: The wings are not broken down into drums and flats. It's the whole 3-part wing. An extra large order comes with 9. The wings are served un-sauced with a brown sugar glaze. You then order sauce to come on the side. The wings were excellent. Lot of meat on the bone and very tender. They also travelled well. As a sauce fanatic, I went a little overboard and ordered quite a few options to dip my wings into. Some of my favorites were: spicy garlic, mild, gold bbq and honey chipotle bbq. They have many more choices as well. Of course, your standard bleu cheese, ranch and celery. Again, only a takeout order so I can't judge the interior or any interaction with wait staff, but I also ordered the Triple Threat appetizer, where you select three of the seven options, and I was pretty unimpressed. Went with pretzel bites, loaded fries and potato flats. The portion size was less than what I expected it to be, and all three choices were par for the course as far as bar food staples go. Driving the restaurant is a little hard to spot. However, the parking lot is large and can fit many people. It is a dog friendly place (eat on the patio). They give your dog plenty of treats and their own dog menu! I got my dog the smoked chicken and she finished Jt within seconds! The waiters and waitresses were excellent. Since this is called the Lucky Dog Grille, does this mean they're dog friendly? Yes they are. You can bring your dog and sit on the nice patio. Inside there's a nice bar. The bar is good for watching games. Although it's in a strip mall, this is better than it looks. It has lots of beer and a greasy food menu like a typical bar. This one though is a good place for dog owners. It has a patio that you can bring your pet into. They also have a menu just for dogs so that's kickass. Among the offerings for humans, the draft list is the best thing about this place. I had a MadTree Shade beer. This is about $5 for a pint. It has a friendly staff who love dogs. An excellent experience at Lucky Dog! We had hungry kids and the food came out really quickly. Reviews recommended the chicken tenders and they did not disappoint. This was our first time here. We had high hopes on the way there while reading all their fantastic sounding menu options. We were talking about how we were going to choose what to get! We were disappointed. The staff was nice, our server was great, the inside was nice, but the food was meh. The burnt ends were not even burnt a little bit. Not one single bit of char anywhere. The pretzels and cheese were basic and ok. The cheese was extremely runny though. The beer flight was ok, my husband just didn't like 3 of the 4 he chose. My Brutus burger was dry and basically flavorless. It comes with bbq sauce (which was good) but the rest of the burger and pulled pork just didn't have any moisture or flavor. My loaded fries were the best thing I ate. My husband got the Smoked Prime Rib Philly Sandwich. It was sooooo dry that he could barely swallow it. He actually had to add my leftover bbq sauce just to be able to even eat it. He said it had no flavor at all! His mac n cheese side was creamy but mushy. We will not be going back here again. Hubby & I went here for Cincinnati Burger Week & ordered the yum yum burger with a side of fries. I wasn't sure if I would like the yum yum sauce so I ordered it on the side. Let me just say that the yum yum sauce is delicious! They make it homemade & I would order a side of it just for fry dipping. Our burgers were excellent & I especially liked the onion ring on top. I've never in my life heard of grilled wings, and I had only had smoked wings once in my life before this. Maybe some people liked them, but I thought they were absolutely atrocious. The fries were mid tier. The potato skins were unlike potato skins I've seen anywhere else. It was literally just a potato chip with cheddar, and undercooked bacon bits. I almost couldn't believe it. This is one of the 10 times in my life I've left a restaurant before finishing my meal due to not liking the way it tasted. Look, maybe some people like grilled or smoked wings which is why so many people wrote great reviews but I didn't but I'm giving an honest review about my personal experience. Stopped in to Lucky Dog because of Cincinnati Burger Week. If not for Burger Week, I do not think I would have even known that Lucky Dog existed. Upon entering, there was a choice between bar or dining room seating. Bar was seat yourself; dining room was please wait to be seated. One of the servers seemed to be doubling as the hostesses. She apologized for the wait then seated us. We had been there less than a minute. No apology was needed, but we did appreciated the gesture. She sat us in a section different than her own. Our server was attentive and sweet. There were a couple thing that needed attention. She handled them well. She seemed to genuinely care about people. Now to the food. I particularly enjoyed the way the burgers are cooked. Patties are chargrilled. Mine was cooked to a perfect medium. The meat itself had a lot of flavor. Onion rings on top of the burger had a nice crunch, and were not greasy. Unfortunately, the fries were a let down. My husband and I both agreed, they could have used another minute or two in the fryer. They were not raw, but seemed barely cooked. I wish I had ordered onion rings as my side. Food is good. My husband loves the burgers. I am a fan of their fried pickles. I have gotten a few things from here. I wouldn't recommend the Philly cheese steak or their Mac n cheese. The Philly cheese steak was flavorless and the Mac n cheese is dry and is just not good. But they have good burgers and appetizers. Service is always good. I like the outdoor eating area. Ate here yesterday for lunch with wife. We hadn't eaten here in several years because they stopped carrying fried pickle SPEARS (the only kind we order). We were waited on by the owner, who seemed to be the only one working, tending bar and serving. Not that busy. So we ordered the fried pickle spears as listed on the menu. We were given chips. Upon inquiring why, we were told that they can't get breaded pickle spears any more, and the last time they did they were like Buffalo spears and people kept complaining that they were too hot. I wasn't so much worried about that--just concerned that they didn't make a note on the menu about what you were going to get. The owner offered to make us another appetizer, but we reluctantly decided to just eat the chips. Strike one.My wife ordered a Diet Coke, as did I, but we were given Diet Pepsi in a Diet Pepsi glass without explanation. Strike two. I ordered a BLT with egg and upon delivering it to the table, the owner dropped half of it on the table. I'm not a germ freak, so I picked it up and ate it. Strike three. I had a bowl of chili--owner told me it was Texas chili. not Cincinnati style. That's fine, but it was rather meh. Wife ordered a chicken teriyaki Philly sandwich without banana peppers. It arrived loaded with banana peppers. Strike four. Additionally, she said the chicken tasted like turkey and had what seemed like turkey gravy on it instead of teriyaki sauce. .I tasted a bite and I couldn't tell. The owner swore that they cooked and shredded the chicken there, so not sure what the problem was there. Bottom line is that she was not happy with her food. I did have a 4 beer flight that was pretty good and there was a pretty nice variety to choose from. There were several signs on the doors stating that servers were in short supply and to please be patient. I like to patronize independent places like this one and I can sympathize with the owner trying his best to keep this place afloat, but there were too many missteps on this visit for us to probably return. The past few times my family has vacationed closeby at Great Wolf Lodge, we've come here. The kids raved about the mac and cheese after the first time ever went and was probably a driving factor in wanting to go to GWL again. This place is huge inside with lots of beer and menu options. It's priced well and we enjoy trying places that and local to the area. Food is decent. I had burnt ends which were pretty good and a side of the Mac. It's tasty. It's not like the most amazing ever but it's cheap and plentiful. Service was great and makes me want to keep going there. They have smoked wings which have a ton of flavor and worth getting. The beer cheese is good too. If you are staying nearby, get away from those hotel food prices and try this place. You won't regret it read more

Great spot for wings! Get the smoked wings, they are both wing and drumstick for 1 wing. Ordered the "regular" smoked wings and basically got 12 wings. Skip the sauce unless you absolutely want it, or get fries. The glaze they have on the wings was awesome, and we ate most without dunking into the sauce. I've eaten at Lucky Dog a few times now and every meal I've had had been a good one. I love the smoked chicken wings, definitely give them a try. We usually order out, but decided to stop in the other day because we were in the area and had some extra time. When we entered, it was obvious they had the restaurant setup to keep customers safe during the pandemic, tables spaced 6 feet, sanitizer, masks, etc. We had an order of burnt ends for an appetizer and they were delicious, I always get an order. I had the rack of ribs with mashed potatoes. We also had a bbq bacon cheeseburger, and a cranberry chicken salad. All was delicious, and I recommend the Mac and cheese for a side.
