I've heard of this place so many times and finally got to try them out. The menu was so big but everything looked so good. I ordered the Strawberry Margarita as a drink and he ordered the Blueberry Bella. We started off with the fried pickles. They came out steaming hot and in spears which was so good . The coating was pretty thick which I love as well. My boo ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad, and I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which was bigger than my face fr . It was soo good and the fries were soo good too . The BBQ chicken salad was cool but I wish it was more dressing and more bbq on the salad and the chicken. Our recent visit to Rusty Bucket in Mason, OH, was a complete disaster. The only reason this restaurant received 2-stars is because our server did her best to salvage the experience. We dined at the Liberty Township Rusty Bucket for years, and were saddened when it closed. But, hey, it was Wednesday Indiana Tenderloin night, so we drove to Mason. We were greeted as we entered, and were quickly shown to a nice table after being given a choice of seating preferences. Our server made sure we had everything we needed and took our drink and food order. Our beverages soon arrived, and then the night went quickly into Epic Failure mode. We both ordered the Indiana Tenderloin sandwich. They looked delicious when it arrived, but they were so over salted that they were inedible. We flagged down our server and explained the problem. She looked down at our meals and commented that she could see the salt crystals in the breading, then inquired if we would like them replaced or another item. We said we would prefer tenderloin sandwiches if they were prepared correctly. She returned a few minutes later, explaining she was informed that someone new had prepared the flour and new sandwiches would be made with the same flour mixture. Here's a clue, "chef." I rather doubt that with the extensive menu and reasonable prices that each sandwich is hand breaded instead of coming prepared and ready to cook from your purveyor. And even if they are, you throw out the offending dredge instead of continuing to use it. HUGE kitchen failure. Our server assured us that our inedible meals would be comped, and again inquired if we would like something else instead. We chose hamburgers, which did not appear to have been given priority in the kitchen based on the time it took to receive them. They came out hot and delicious. As we enjoyed our replacement meals, our server checked back to ensure these were prepared correctly. She again informed us that "she" - an apparent reference to an unseen manager - had comped the tenderloin sandwiches. Throughout the fiasco, and continuing on through our entire stay, no manager appeared to check on us. Here's a clue to the manager. We never ate a meal at the Liberty Township Rusty Bucket without receiving a visit from the manager. They always stopped by to check on the food and service, and usually engaged in brief conversation asking our opinions or telling us what was coming soon. It's your responsibility to smooth over problems. Hiding when things go badly and expecting the server to do your job is irresponsible. EPIC MANAGEMENT FAILURE. The final insult of the night came when it was to pay our bill. She failed to present us with an itemized bill, simply stating that she would get "the machine" and bring it to the table. When she brought the machine so I could tap payment, it only displayed a total with preselected tip included. I never had a clue what we were charged until I asked for the receipt. It was then that I discovered we were charged for more expensive sandwiches to replace the inedible food we had been served. Nothing was comped. No apologies from anyone except our server. I know there are places closer to use that sell delicious tenderloin sandwiches. read more

Happy hour is awesome at rusty bucket! The appetizer prices are amazing and you can get a good deal on a lot of really good food. The queso was just delectable... Their chicken wings are really underrated because they are phenomenal. Quesadillas could have been better as there wasn't much stuff if any along the outside of the tortilla. The atmosphere and service is always great at the bucket! I got confused for a waitress by someone eating but that's neither here nor there. Will definitely be back. read more

First time at the Rusty Bucket, but I have to say it was amazing. Out waitress was excellent, friendly, courteous and she had some great food recommendations as well! She even gave us an idea of what the portions were like so we can adjust it for my kiddos. Their in house Pilsner was light, tasty and goes well with a Cubano sandwich! The food was great the portions are good for the price and refills on sodas! The restaurant was a combo of tavern and sports bar. They sat us in a booth that was comfortable and worked well for my autistic daughter. There was also a strange portrait of what looked like David Chapelle dressed as a pirate. The majority of the bar service and staff are great here, although a few not so friendly. They have pretty good happy house special each day with half off appetizers and drinks specials each day. Some room for improvements for Management: 1) brighten up the place a little, the bar area can seem dark and gloomy, contributing to a dull and dated atmosphere. 2) possibly maybe time to refresh the menu. Some things are good, would love to see some new dinner options and appetizers! Keep the wings! Would love to see potato skins, baby back ribs, etc. 3) maybe just me. The reservation was so we could make a movie we all planned to attend and let the staff know about after 45 mins in of now getting food. Staff was atriousious from check in to check out Prices for food and drinks are crazy. $15 for chicken fingers? $15 for a Cuban in Ohio by a chain? $10 for a handful of onion rings? $10 for a Miller lite? Ate here today with a group of about 40 people. They had to seat us in 2 different places, but were still very polite and accommodating to our group. Nice selection of draft beers in 3 sizes (16, 20 &32 oz) I had a bowl of Buffalo chicken soup and the meat loaf dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything tasted great. Also had a street corn salad that was somewhat unique and absolutely terrific ! I shared a bread pudding with ice cream dessert that was huge and incredibly tasty. Service was attentive and efficient. Their Baja tacos looked really good and I will try those on my next visit. read more

I was so excited when I saw the soup. It was a potato soup. I'd had it before, and it was good. This time, not so much. I mixed up the melted cheese, bacon and onions. Scooped my spoon in and a 3 inch piece of potato, 3 times the size of the spoon came out. I cut it with my spoon and proceeded to take a bite. YUCK! The potato tasted like an OLD baked potato that didn't get cooked all the way. It was half done. So, I found a smaller piece. Potato was done, but it had no flavor. The soup itself tasted like a bechemel sauce with potatoes in it. The sauce alone had no flavor. They didn't cook the potatoes in the sauce/broth. They took an old baked potato and shoved it in a bechemel sauce and called it soup. YUCK! Now, I will have to make my own tomorrow. read more

At this particular plaza (Deerfield towncenter) I've seen many resturants come and fail over the last decade+. I initially wrote off the Rusty Bucket, but after trying it I'm actually pleasantly impressed. The service and food quality is consistent and pretty good. It's a highly varied menu which usually gives me pause but I've actually tried several items and they are all generally pretty good. Most recently tried the Cubano which was great. Margarita pitchers on Saturday are also a pretty sweet deal- and they are actually decent margaritas. Highly recommend! read more

We debated over pizza, A spot called Thai Spicy wasn't open. Seoul was overpriced, so we finally settled on this all-in-one menu spot. We were greeted by a hostess and led to our table. Our waitor was not the most friendly, but did offer us "happy hour" prices & items. My co-worker ordered a Burger Combo. I ordered the 1/2 priced "Happy Hour" Wings (8-count) 1/2 Buffalo & 1/2 Bar-b-que. The wing sauce was not very flavorful. (Buffalo was not spicy in the least, and Bar-b-que was tart and bland). The wings were a decent size & were filling. I also ordered the "Happy Hour" 1/2 priced shrimp. Now, maybe I'm a southern country boy, but I received cold shrimp..... immediately, I was ticked off & disgusted, but apparently, up north is how it's served......I mean, southern courtesy would be to inform your customer that the dish is served "cold" instead of assuming they know (it's stated in the menu, I guess in all my hunger, I overlooked it) . The vibe was cool, but it wasn't busy at all. It seems we beat the rush. I was not impressed with the food or service. After our initial drink order, we weren't offered refills or anything. I felt we were underserved and rushed out of the establishment. With a different waitor or waitress, I would give this place a second try. A few more varieties of Wing Sauces would definitely be an upgrade. My co-worker and I will be in the Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky region all week, more reviews to come. read more

The ceiling tiles were gross, dust and filth hanging around the vents, moving with the blowing air, just waiting to fall into someones food or on the table. I've been on the road for several days and hit Cincinnati during rush hour and a thunderstorm. While sitting on 275 I popped open Yelp to find a close-by place for dinner. I'm not a chain guy and after stupid Apple maps drove me all over the place (seriously Yelp can you please connect to Google maps???) I found the original place I was looking for but it wasn't what I wanted...so I walked out and, in the rain, walked down to Rusty Bucket. I was warmly greeted and I asked the server if I could sit in the bar area to do some work and watch the baseball game that was on. Michael quickly greeted me, sincerely asked how I was because he could already see I was fried from the day. He then took it upon himself to turn my frown upside down. I just made myself smile at that line. I needed a beer so he asked me what kind I liked. "Bro, I've got the beer for you. Brewdog Brewing Elvis Juice. It's delicious and you'll love it. If you don't I'll get you something else." He was right. I loved it. One of the best beers I've ever had. So I ordered another one as I worked on my fish tacos. They were delicious too. Made with a fish I'd never heard of. But still delicious. Halfway through my first taco Michael asked if I liked spicy stuff and when I said I did..."Bro, we make this homemade habanero sauce. Sooo good. I'm gonna get you some." He was right. It was delicious. Warning though...it's hot. Use sparingly. I loved this experience and if I didn't have to drive another hour in the rain to get to my hotel I probably would have stayed for another beer.
