Then they inform you that your oil pan needs replacing (no video for that) and it would need ordering. Then they print out what else needs fixed. All the recommendations were completed by Lexus less than a year ago in a car I hardly drive. When asked if their tech actually saw the issues you don't get a straight answer. Makes you wonder the knowledge of their techs or are they trying to get you to have more service done unnecessarily with no real checking? Had to return the following day (part on order) after I made many calls asking for the service manager's name and tried calling the parts dept. A recording for parts dept stated no one available all day?? Given no name of manager even after asking. Spent a total of $1100 and wait time 5 hours and still had to return the following day to pick up. Then the dealership asks you to contact them if any issues? Won't waste my time as I tried to get answers for 2 days.

I've always been happy with them but my recent sales experience is bad. I was flat out lied to and none of the the discounts or KBB values were honored. I was in a pickle and needed a vehicle so I signed a good deal but was lied to on additional discounts I was eligible for even when I showed them the discounts. 1. $1000 buyer down payment assistance not honored 2. I was charged $899 for the Banister Lifetime Warranty which is supposed to be no charge to customer 3. I showed an email and text showing $2500 over KBB for trade, they didn't honor it! None of this was honored, none. I didn't raise a stink because I thought I was getting a good deal yet I was actually told false information. Now, I know it was false and contacted them, to date no reply, nothing at all...crickets! I am highly disappointed in Banister. This is my fifth purchase from Banister, four from Chesapeake and one from Norfolk. This will be my last and will no longer recommend them.

We were given our money back with a promise to contact us once it was fixed and honor the original terms. And I've bought numerous cars over the years. Buckle up, it's a somewhat long story, but I have to share it. I bought a used 2021 Toyota Corolla from these guys recently, and made my mistake of not test driving it first, and trusted their word, and trusted that a Toyota Corolla is a reliable car to purchase. When I received the car, I didn't even make it out of my neighborhood before noticing it grinding gears when downshifting into 2nd and it didn't want to stay in that gear. Coming from a previous car with endless issues, my heart sank. I called the dealership and the manager (John, I think?) dismissed everything I said and hung up on me. I called Moose again and he gave me the owner Tim's number. Tim was more responsive and understanding and they sent someone to come pickup the car, who also confirmed the issue. Since it was under their 3000mile warranty they decided to put another transmission in it. He claimed it was a new transmission. He offered to put a new clutch in it also, as long as I paid for the parts, which I agreed to at the time, but his "transmission guy said the clutch is fine," so they opted not to. Now, here I am less than 10k miles later, and the clutch has failed. The trusted mechanic I took the car to also told me that they installed a "junkyard transmission." I respectfully and politely called Tim to get some answers and see what they would do about it, and he still claims it's a new transmission, and that he would talk to his transmission guy again, but hasn't sent me any proof of that, and has now stopped answering phone calls and hasn't returned any calls. I do not have and would've never expected to put $3000 into repairs of a car that I just purchased. A 2021 Toyota Corolla with transmission AND clutch failure within 10k miles seems like something an experienced car dealership and "transmission guy" should've been able to catch before it got to my hands. I bought this car for the sole purpose of having a reliable vehicle for my family, and it's been a nightmare since day one. I was (and still am) only hoping they would do the right thing and handle this issue. Incredibly disappointed.

The only negative thing that I have to say about the experience is that I had asked when we sat down for the loan what percentage the rates started at. We were told they started at 5.25%. My sister has good credit so I wasn't expecting her payment to fall in a much higher percentage bucket. We were good with the price of the vehicle, and the warranty that she added on. However, and this is a big however, until we were signing the documents, did we see for the first time that the loan she was being given was at over 14% APR. This is absolutely ridiculous and unheard of for somebody who has good credit. We wasted no time going over to Navy Federal and securing her a proper loan at a reasonable rate. The amount that Carmax was trying to charge her in interest was more than half of what the vehicle cost with the add-ons. Let that sink in. Do not sign blindly and make sure you understand what you would be paying in interest. I highly recommend getting pre-approved elsewhere for a loan first and not using their financing. You have three days to get a loan elsewhere and have it changed over, but I would suggest making sure you're eligible before you go car broke. We didn't see any of that until half way through signing the contract. Kind of crazy!

CARMAX does not do repairs on Tesla's, they will send you to the Tesla dealership on military highway. Once there, Tesla does not accept third-party warranties you will have to pay for all repairs out-of-pocket with a hope of reimbursement from Max Care. If they approve the reimbursement, it will take 3 to 4 weeks. It's been a cluster bomb. I hope to save someone a ton of trouble and Time.

A vehicle should not be falling apart this soon after purchase. I returned to the dealership expecting them to stand behind what they sold. Instead, I was met by my salesperson, John, and the head of sales, who told me, "Dang, that sucks. The 30 days are up. There's nothing we can do for you." That response alone says everything about how this dealership treats customers after the sale. Rather than taking responsibility or offering a reasonable solution, they tried to roll my negative equity into another vehicle. When that wasn't possible because of the financing they had already put me into, I was told I would need either a co-signer or a $5,000 down payment. In other words, after selling me a vehicle with serious issues, their solution was for me to take on even more debt. If you're an active-duty service member or veteran, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. If you're looking for a Chevrolet, it's worth the drive to Casey Chevrolet instead. My experience was that once the paperwork was signed and the return period had passed, customer service ended. I cannot recommend this dealership based on how my concerns were handled.

We will continue to recommend our friends and family to come here for future business. They have a wide preowned inventory that isn't just limited to Cadillacs. So if you are looking for other models, they more than likely have it or can find it. When I got my most recent car from Jake. My new to me 2020 Ford Mustang GT, it came from their Wilmington, NC store. It took less than a week for the car to get to their store and have it ready to go waiting for me to pick up!
