    Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I must update my review to remove the onus in my previous review. At another oil change shop the…read moreoverfill phenomenon once again occurred, and the senior staff there were completely mystified as to the cause. I emphasize that the case of overfill was not the fault of the Valvolene staff. I will warn any readers that the 1998 Vortec 5.7 L engine, which the owner's manual says takes 5 quarts of oil, can give an owner fits. I would advise drivers to warn the techs to stop filling at 4.5 quarts, run the engine, wait for the oil to drain down into the crankcase, and then evaluate the apparent actual capacity. I deeply regret any harm my previous review has caused this business. I dropped one star as I felt more optimistic when Brodie was foreman. In this business your comfort level and satisfaction will depend very much on the maturity and professionalism of the staff on duty.

Right headlight change on Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 17…read more Pros: I happen to be driving by pretty random. I saw this place was open on a Sunday and decided to stop and ask if they would help me change my blown bulb. At first, one of the guys was like good-luck its going to take hours lol. The other guy changed it within 10 mins. I told him people have a misconception that doing work on Jeeps is hard and its not. I would have changed it but I sliced my finger. Anyways, they were very helpful and accommodating! I really enjoyed their service! Cons: none

I recently had my turbo go out & they were able to get my car serviced in a timely manner. My turn…read morearound time was quick and their communication along the way was very efficient. They also addressed a wheel bearing issue they could take care for me- which was an already known issue to me, but I wasn't certain if they were able to resolve it during the same appointment. Between the diagnosis of my turbo & wheel bearing, ordering & delivery process of the parts, and service, I got my car within 2 days. They were absolutely great & transparent about anything they came across or might have issues with that may change the estimate. I was very pleased with their customer service, ability to provide proper care to my car, and their mechanic who did all of the work. They were absolutely amazing & I would trust them with any future services I get with my car. I couldn't recommend them any more ! Thank you guys !!

I am updating this review to address the owner's response. My original review stated facts directly…read morefrom the invoice, which remains attached for anyone to read. 1. The "Air Box Repair" & Filter Charge: The owner claims the $101 was to "repair damage to the air box." As line item #5 on my receipt clearly shows, I was charged $25.91 for the filter, $26.00 for two metal clips, and $49.50 in labor strictly described as "Remove & Replace Engine Air Filter Element." Snapping on two clips during a routine filter change does not justify $101 total, nor does the receipt list any actual repair labor for the box itself. 2. Inaccurate Claims About My Review: Brake Inspection: The owner accused me of "fraud" regarding an $80 inspection charge. I explicitly acknowledged that "While they didn't charge for the brake inspection itself, the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth." I acknowledge the $0 charge on that specific line item. Caliper vs. Total Brake Cost: The owner claimed I said calipers were $900. I never said that. I stated the total brake repairs came out to over $900--which is accurate, as the front disc brakes ($842.24) and rear drum service ($132.00) totaled $974.24. My review explicitly stated the calipers themselves were "almost $250" ($124.14 x 2 = $248.28), which is accurate to the penny. 3. Unclear Communication on Calipers: Replacing calipers isn't routine maintenance for standard brake wear; it's a major component replacement. Check with any reputable shop and they will agree. Replacing them without clearly explaining why the original calipers had failed--rather than just servicing pads and rotors--lacks basic transparency. Bottom Line: Instead of addressing legitimate concerns over high labor rates ($274 to change a single serpentine belt, $49.50 labor for an air filter element), the owner chose to misquote my original review and throw around baseless accusations. Please ask yourself if being accused of fraud is what you want as a customer before you do business with anyone. Buyer Beware: Take my situation as an example of the response you can expect from this shop if you express honest dissatisfaction. I stand by my experience and my invoice. Please review the attached image of the bill and decide for yourself.
