This place is terrible! The owner "fixed" my car but it broke down several times after. He didn't know what was wrong with it in the end, so I had to take it somewhere else. I discovered he left tools under my hood, didn't fix the thermostat ( which is what I paid for) and used the wrong spark plugs. Save yourself the money and time! read more

Then before he tells me that he tells me a butt ton of things why I shouldn't do it and that he was explaining it to me because I was a female and he kepted on saying that then I tell him to just do it and that my boyfriend said to as well he tells me to bring him down so he can explain it to him and maybe he can become a man. Joe is either dishonest or he doesn't know what he is doing. I took my car in for a coolant and oil leak since I had to keep topping these off. I told him that I was going on a road trip and that it was very important that I had these issues resolved. Joe assured me that my coolant WAS NOT leaking even though I pointed out some coolant build up that was forming on my coolant hose. He also told me that since oil was leaking from the gas cap, I had to go get a new gas cap. He assured me that my coolant WILL NOT LEAK and that a new gas cap will stop my oil leak. He also assured me that my car was in great condition for the road trip. Next day right before I hit the road, my coolant is LEAKING very badly from the exact same spot where I noticed the coolant build up. I come to find out that my hose was cracking and wearing out which is why my coolant was leaking. And also, after close inspection, I was still leaking oil from the oil cap. I come to find out that I DID NOT need an oil cap to stop the oil leaking, but a new valve cover because of the wear around the edges where the oil cap goes. I went to a different shop before I left where they replaced the coolant hose and valve cover and finally got my coolant and oil leak problem fixed. Please do not listen to all the good reviews here. Joe's automobile is just terrible. There are better and more reputable mechanics out here in Albuquerque. Pros: None. Cons: Mechanics here are either dishonest or they do not know what they are doing. A simple fix here will not get resolved. read more

Very quick service and very friendly as well. I called ahead to see what the price was to repair my tire since I drove over a screw, and they gave me a price quickly. Once i arrived, they took my keys and took care of it right away. My tire wasn't repairable, but I did have an extra full spare in the trunk, so they removed my old tire and put on my replacement tire for only five bucks. I was surprised on the pricing, I'll be back for my other services for sure. read more

Took my sons truck into Affordable, first time. Jose greeted us and was very upfront and told us he would call within the hour with repairs and cost of what to do. Within an hour, Jose called . He had the green light to go ahead and fix. He didn't charge us for certain things, and he gave me a free oil change. Gave us a great deal on the next repair, since we could only afford the most important repairs to do. He wrote down the other repair and how much. Plus also no charge for the wheel alignment. I highly recommend Affordable Tires and Services. The owner Jose is a stand up mechanic who really cares about his customers. I had a mysterious problem with my car starting, and they worked on my car until they found out exactly what it was. I got a tune up and engine work done, and they generously have me a free oil change, cleaned my engine and removed paint marker from my cars exterior. When I wasn't able to make it to the shop before they were closing, Jose met me two and a half hours later just to give me my keys. I'm a first time car owner and will definitely return to these guys for any of my cars needs. read more

The tire was not repairable as the tread was worn down too low so he fixed me up with a good used tired--all for $20. The whole experience was 17 minutes. My sister has gone to Joes twice. The first time they kept her car an additional week longer than they stated the repair would take, without explanation. She decided to give them a second chance and recently went there for a transmission flush. They stated they'd get her in Saturday, then when she arrived they stated they couldn't get her in till Monday, but assured her it would be done same day. They said they'd call as soon as it was done. They never called, so she called 30 minutes before close and they said it'll take another full day, but they'd call. They never called Tuesday, so she stopped by 30 minutes prior to close and got her car. In their defense they did the job for free due to the delay, but here's the kicker. When she recovered her vehicle, there were beer caps on the passenger floor and Taco Bell wrappers. My sister doesn't drink, nor do her friends. This is not only unprofessional, but completely unacceptable. Needless to say we will never be back. read more

Fantastic service and at a fair price. I went in thinking I needed brakes replaced and that was not the case. How nice to not be ripped off by shady mechanics. I also needed two new tires and the manager listened to me and we picked out the right tires for my car, not the most expensive ones that some other places would have tried to talk me into. The most disgusting and terrible service I have experienced with a mechanic. I took a 2010 Prius to joe for an engine replacement and all I got was robbed for more than 6000 dollars. The engine was installed in summer of 2020 and I immediately noticed that the care would overheat. Note that the car didn't do this prior to the engine replacement. After repeated trips back to joe, I realized that he doesn't have the skill or knowledge to work on hybrid vehicles. The car was without air conditioning and ran worse after the engine replacement. Being ignorant and not learning a lesson and unseeing of the red flags I took another car in for a transmission replacement. The nightmare started all over again, and I was left without a vehicle for almost three months. The transmission was in worse condition after I took it and many parts were not installed back on the car. The dealership had to repair a lot of the dismay caused by joe or a mechanic that works for joe including damages wires and incorrectly installed parts. Now I'm taking both cars to the dealership where service is done with reputable mechanics and people that have a respect and dignity for their profession. I do not recommend joe's automotive, even for the most desperate situations. If there was a disgusting unappealing pustule that marks the face of the south valley, joe's automotive would be the face of it. My aim was to give this waisted business purpose and support the local community but it was a terrible failure on my part. Please heed the warning and find a reputable mechanic with dignity! read more

We were driving through and got a flat tire. Called these guys and took it in. It took a little over a hour, but they were slammed so it was actually pretty quick. Did a great job on the repair and when I asked how much he sent me on my way for free. My only complaint was the guy behind the counter was a bit rude, but I found most people in the area the same. I had good service for excellent prices for over a year as I took my vehicle in for oil changes. Then a repair was recommended and I sensed it was needful and they got me in that day, cost $140. I appreciated their attention and prevention of a potentially much more costly repair if it had gone out on the road. Then the next time I went in they recommended another repair, this time $600 but not urgent like the first. The next oil change same repair was now $1200 (2 months later) and I was told the vehicle was really using oil, but not true as I had checked it before I went in. They said they could no longer change oil as it was a liability. I took to another shop that had done several repairs for me and I know to be ethical. Yes a repair could be done, but not a big deal, certainly not urgent, $400. Very disappointing that I can no longer use Affordable Tire as they have resorted to lying to me to make big bucks. read more

I went to Affordable tire at the menaul shop due to a squeak in my belt area. They told me I needed a timing belt and while it was apart the recomended the water pump be replaced as well. I agreed but when I called to see if my truck was done they said it would 30 minutes till completion. I headed down there and when I got there they said it wasn't done. I asked why they said it was done, they said they would work over to get it done. I needed my truck before they closed because they were closed on Sunday. They were going to close shop without calling me, lucky I went down there. I left with my truck but it still had a squeak noise. I waited 3 days and called back to take it in. They said they would check it and call me to let me know what the issue was. I called and they said it was a pully and they needed to take the whole water pump out to replace it. I asked how much it would be and they said they would call back. I waited and waited and finally called. they said my truck was complete but I owed them for the work. I went down to the shop and they said I owed $300, I replied, why didn't you call me before doing the work, he replied, you owe us for this work. I asked for the manager, he said he was on lunch. I said, get someone over here to resolve this if you have to call him back from lunch. He called the manager on his phone and what you know he arrived within minutes. I asked him why they did the work without calling me and he said it was my fault for rushing them when I originally took it in so I needed to pay. He told me that he wasn't giving my keys to me until I pay. I told him I didn't authorize the work but he insisted I needed to pay and for me to quit looking at him crazy. He insisted and insisted I needed to pay. I didn't mind paying for the part but not the labor, since it should have been fixed right the first time. He still insisted I pay, so I gave in. I will never do business with these dishonest individuals again and do not recomend anybody for future business. Anyone giving this business a good review needs to get familiar with them before writing a review, cause they come off as a great place to do business at first, until they sucker you into major work and your f****d. read more

Andy and Adrian take full responsibility for the work done in their shop, warranties and parts. I own an older Toyota so it has needed quite a few repairs over the years. They are happy to show me exactly what needs repaired, the replaced parts, and options for new parts. I have also bought two sets of tires from them. This was the first time going to this shop. He looked at my vehicle and gave us a quote and told us our vehicle would be ready the next day. Well 4 days later and the price going up 500.00 dollars. We explained we only had a budget of $1000. He wouldn't call and communicate with us. When we would call he would tell us the price would b going up. When we picked our vehicle up he said he would cut us a deal for all our troubles and for the wait. Total price was $1570.00. Price with our deal for troubles $1569.99!! My mom just took her car for an $11.99 oil change. She was charged $24.00 because of her car needing more oil than normal. It's just a normal car. Then they told her she had an oil leak and it would cost $286. She took it to her mechanic and he said the seal on the oil cap was bad. They totally tried to take advantage of my 69 year old mom. With all the positive reviews we thought this place was going to be honest and reliable. My brother took his 2004 vehicle in because of a P0420 and they determined he needed an O2 sensor. Easy enough. Then the mechanic suggested a smoke test to check for leaks in the EVAP system as well (not sure why since the O2 sensor should have been tested first to see if that solved the issue before doing other things to the vehicle). When he picked up his vehicle the fuel gauge stated dropping to empty and the gas tank was imploding from negative pressure. My dad and I (we're not professional mechanics but have worked on our own vehicles for 50+ years) got under his van to see what was up. Bolts were loose everywhere on the charcol canister to start with. So we knew the work they did was substandard. So we attempted to research and figure out the issue on our own with no luck. Finally, after taking it to Dodge and around $1000 later, they found the issue; a huge 3/4" x 3" bolt was left jammed in a return air line. Basically the mechanic @ Joes didn't clean up any of his work after doing the (probably unnecassary) smoke test. Kind of like a doctor who sewing up a patient leaves a sponge or gauze inside a patient after surgery AND not even sewing them up completly with all those loose bolts. Awful experiance. Wish my bro would have just let me and my dad tackle this for him from the beggining. UGH. Will never go back to Joes. read more
