In June, I took my new car and truck to Joes for break repair and oil chabge on my car and an alignment on my truck and to fix my backup lights (which never was repaired). From the moment i picked up my car, it wasn't running right. When I opened up the hood, i noticed my air filter cover was removed and just sitting inside my engine compartment and the windshield wiper cap was off (fluid empty). They called to let me know my truck was done and that it woild be ober $3,000! I was not called, nor asked for approval for these types of extensive repairs. After picking up my truck, it had to be immediately returned because it pulled so hard to thr right, i coukdn't keep it on the road!!! I explained to them how unhappy i was and how i couldnt believe the cost was so much, considering the job they did and that it had to be returned. When Dan ran my credit card for payment, he had the audacity to say outloud "Wow...it went through!" (because brown people can't pay?!?!?). I felt so intimidated and disrespected that i had to leave a review. I even went so far as to reach out to them a few weeks later, leaving them a message to make it right and never heard back. They were recommended so I scheduled an appt for ten o clock to review a muffler issue. I was concerned around two when I didnt hear from anyone the work wasnt initiated. I started calling them and it rang off the hook for almost an hr and when I did reach them she stated at three she was just calling around for the part they may need. I needed to pickup my kids at four so I lost a day with nothing to show for it. I wasnt offered to be picked up and I was told they found a seperate issues they took pics of theyd email me with. I never received that email. I did receive an email to rate my experience and did and was on their website for about 24hrs before vanishing.....only five stars reviews can stay....very unprofessional place im afraid:( read more

Had a wonderful, amazing experience with Joe's Garage this past Summer! Our oldest son was driving his younger brother from Seattle, down to grad school in Los Angeles, when the Subaru they were driving started acting up. They spent the night in Eugene, and showed up unannounced at Joe's right when they opened. There mechanic took it for a spin and quickly determined it needed a new clutch. You hear so many horror stories about repair shops taking advantage of out-of-State customers, charging them exorbitant prices, and excessive delays. I am happy to report that was not the case with Joe's Garage. They were able to shift one of their mechanics (who just happened to be a Subaru expert) to work on our car immediately. It took a good portion of the day, but by late afternoon, the clutch had been replaced, and our car was good to go. The mechanic even did a few extra things we didn't even ask for! And the best thing, the bill was fair and reasonable! I can't say enough good things about Joe's Garage. If they treat stranded out-of-State customers this good, just imagine how well they treat the locals! read more

Beware, over pricing & much double talk from "Joe's". I had a leaking Radiator fixed here. I assumed they would use a reg. auto parts place and an after market radiator ($100.00+lifetime warranty) on my 12 yr old truck. I go to pay and they charged me $275.00 for the radiator alone. I went off and wanted to know why so much. They said they only use OEM parts (original equipment). I could have gotten this kind of rip off service at a dealer. I won't go into the rest of the BS that happened but use this place at your own risk. I never will again. SO fast forward 2yr 8 mo. The radiator is leaking AGAIN! I go to a different mechanic he says it's the core leaking and should be under warranty. I call Joe's and they say it's 8 mo. past their warranty so tough. The reg. auto store parts all came with a lifetime warranty for the $100.00 part they should've put in! At least I wouldn't be out that money but I guess their $275.00 part isn't that good, & it turns out it isn't even an OEM part like they had said! When I asked about that they explained that it was just as good as one. REALLY? That's why it's leaking less than 3 yrs later. Other great postings on here must be from "friends". Buyer Beware! UPDATE: I went to Wayne's Garage in Springfield to get my radiator fixed this time. He talked to Joe's owner about the core leak less than 15,000 miles and 2yrs. 8 mo. later. Joe's owner contacted his supplier and got me another radiator free of charge. So I will say the owner of Joe's stood behind his work. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Kathy was extremely rude both over the phone and in person. She said "anyone should know what a p0301 code is like i said it read misfire" when I never claimed to not know that its a misfire in cylinder 1, I merely wanted to know what the obd2 port read so that i can find out what different things can cause that code to appear if my engine isn't misfiring according to you guys. Then she had the nerve to question my integrity asking me what auto shop I've worked at and made rude remarks to my girlfriend who was standing to the side minding her own business. Definitely posting on reddit about this too, do not take your car here. They charge 60 dollars for reading an ob2 port code and regurgitating information that i already said to them. Stay away, pretty incompetent place, waste of money with no diagnosis in the end. Don't let high ratings deceive you, most like from fake reviews! I had the battery light come on, said they couldn't find the problem because the light wasn't on at the time they were checking it out, but they put in two new batteries at a cost of $371 with the diagnosis and labor. Battery light came on again 20 minutes later after driving away. Brought it back said it could be the pigtail for the alternator but was too late to put it in. Later when I got home I was checking in the engine compartment and found that mice had eaten insulation off wiring in two places, very visible so I took silicone caulk and sealed it up, light doesnt come on now. Why didn't they see this??? This only should have cost me $250 at most for two batteries that the F-250 diesel requires and I don't really know for sure that they couldn't have been recharged as they were only 2 years old and maybe low in charge from the wires shorting out, low amps supposedly but no problem starting it and normal voltage so go figure. My car battery has lasted 10 years under similar usage conditions. Also it takes like 10-12 minutes to put them in and was charged $65 just for that because I didnt have tools handy - they will nickel and dime you. Shouldn't have been charged the diagnosis fee if they couldn't' figure it out. Also they are rude. They parked my truck out front blocking their garage and told me I needed to leave because I said I was in a hurry - I never said that, the guy lied, like he was trying to get rid of me. I overheard another customer, a young women talk to the same rude guy and she said her tire was damaged by them, but he denied they did it, but she was pretty adamant. Bad experience all around, stay away, don't be taken in by all the high ratings, I wouldn't trust who actually wrote them! read more

I stumbled on Joe's Garage last year for a minor issue that they fixed for next to nothing. But over the past year, I've had the opportunity to use them for a couple of more than minor issues on both my vehicles. They were helpful, concise, and got the work done when they said they would and while the cost wasn't "next to nothing", it was reasonable and fair. It's hard these days to find companies you really trust, but I find myself trusting Joe's! read more

Well I went to these guys because they had such awesome reviews on pretty much every site but man did I not have a good experience at ALL. Brought my subi in cause it had an oil leak and I just did not want to deal with it on my own. Turns out I had 3 oil leaks. Took them two days to get all the repairs done and a grand total of 1800 which really sucked for me. Went and picked my car up and parked it for a night till I had to go to work. When I parked my car at my job I noticed a TON of smoke coming out and when I popped the hood to check I found that my car was leaking an insane amount of oil (i was bone dry) not something I wanted to see after spending so much money to fix an oil leak as this was so much worse than what it was before. This was also on Saturday which meant I couldn't drive to work the rest of the weekend till I could get a hold of them. Now they were very accommodating once they got my message on Monday. They sent a tow truck out to pick up my car (I live way out in Monroe so I know this wasn't cheap) and said they'd make the repairs again no charge. However, they didn't call me to let me know the progress on my car. Had to call them the next day just to make sure my car actually made it there and they told me it was a bunk seal that they got and they were fixing it. Two days later they called to tell me I could pick it up. Then they just handed me the keys and said sorry. Not the kind of service I was expecting for that kind of money being spent. Sorry? I was without a car for my whole work week and most of my weekend. I appreciate that they stood by their work and made the corrections but I just can't go back there again nor recommend anyone else go there. read more

Please don't believe the one-star reviews on this page. I suspect they were written by competitors. If Joe's service was really spotty, there would be some four or three-star reviews as well. Instead, there's nothing except ones and fives, so be suspicious. I've been taking my 1998 Honda Accord to Joe's since 2001 and have had nothing but courteous, friendly and high-quality service. Yesterday I drove in without an appointment and told them I was due to take a 60-mile trip and was uncomfortable with the steering. They immediately put the car up on a rack and then invited me over to stand under the car - not an experience I totally enjoyed - to show me the wear on the edges of all four tires and a broken boot. The quoted me $350 for the boot repair and offered to get the new tires and install them. Mike was helpful in showing me the tire options and giving me advice. When they called the next day to tell me the car was ready, they remembered I'd needed a ride home the day before and offered to send somebody to pick me up. When I got to the shop, they told me the part for the boot repair was less than they had budgeted and charged me $100 less than the quote. I love Joe's, and everybody else I know in Eugene, including other repair shops, swears by them. These are good, honest, friendly people and good mechanics. read more

I liked the service here. Darrin was very attentive to what my concerns were. The issues I was having were electric in nature: 5 trouble codes pertaining to shift solenoids, car was defaulting to 2nd or 3rd gear, shift indicator light was not working. (not a comfortable condition for a future road trip) And I thought it might be an ignition switch issue. They did say they thought something was wrong with the transmission, which was a cautious yellow flag for me, but I stressed that my transmission, itself, was fine. They listened and kept focus on my electrical issue. Basically, they removed the trans pan, with my permission, and discovered some wounded wires. They fixed it up and my car was as good as new. $50 cheaper would have been nice, but other than that, my experience was good, they addressed the problem, and took care of it in a reasonably timely manner. :) The more information you can provide to them about your issues the better chance you'll have a good experience. :) read more
