    Long line, short staffed.

This was okay, I liked it but it wasn't as good as the one in Anaheim CA. The reason I took away one star, was because the ice under the soft-serve ice cream was flavorless. We are used to our flavored ice to have the flavor we picked... but we both tasted each other's ice and it was really flavorless despite the color. In Anaheim, the flavor of the strawberry or mango is truly there and it's noticeable! I guess it's not the same out here in Arizona... The place was decorated like a soda fountain shop from the 50's and a vintage garage; interesting vibe! Otherwise the staff were good, friendly, but short staffed. A line built up very quickly and I overheard some folks complaining that it was unusual. So not my best first time at an establishment I like. Bummer. But not terrible. It was fine. (Again, I am comparing to the Anaheim establishment and this one isn't worth a long line wait, let's put it that way.)

Only great things to say! Wonderful and cute icecream shop that has a lot of choices that include different flavors for Italian ice, sundaes, and icecream. I recommend trying whatever sample they offer for their Italian ice, they are all delicious and the seasonals are so good! The service is wonderful, everyone is super nice everytime I visit, and they are super quick! They have indoor seating and ordering with a lot of fun decorations inside. they also have a drive thru!

Came to visit my bestie in AZ and I was so stoked to find out they had Joe's Italian Ice over here! I had to bring her ASAP when I saw it and guess what? She loved it! I've been to one in Cali before, so it was really fun to experience it again out here in Arizona. This place will always hold a special spot in my heart... and definitely in my stomach. I always try something new when I come here, so you just have to find a flavor you like and go for it! A big plus about this location is that it's huge! I'm a total fan of the inside - all the neat knick-knacks and great details make it fun to explore, and your eyes will always find something new. Service was friendly and quick, and something to keep in mind with Arizona heat: this spot is perfect for cooling off on a hot day!

What an interesting place. I don't even know where to look, it's so stimulating inside! Popped in on a random stop and nostalgia for Italian ice, remembering these stops with my father when I was a kid. I got the classic Italian ice. Service by Victoria was lovely! She is so warm and welcoming and offered to let me sample multiple options before selecting. That was delicious!

i'm a frequent at the anaheim location and this place was just so much cooler. there were so many decorations inside the place that just made the vibe so litty. tried the pink pixie joelatti and wow. their soft serve is just on another level. although there was a bit of a wait, it wasn't nearly as long as the ones in anaheim. plus, they even sell some cool stickers!!! a great souvenir from AZ

BEST SOFT SERVE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Location is great. No long line like the one in Anaheim. Never got a chance to try Joe's because of that. But was able here in Arizona due to no wait time. They have flavors of the days and change menu flavors consistently. Favorite one is watermelon or cherry. They let you try sample as well so deciding is easier. I recommend the the Joe Latti, best of both worlds!

So fun coming here. It's the perfect summer pick me up. It was quick and easy to order. Tons of options to pick from. I had a root beer float and it reminded me of the elementary school parties but in a big cup. 10/10! I loved the variety of choices and dairy free options. The soft serve was so smooth, literal perfection. The shop is perfect for a cute date, family stop in, and Instagram worthy! So many areas for photo op's and some really fun puns! Happy summer fun!

I thought Joe's was only located in Anaheim, so I was so excited to see one here in Tempe! The drive thru is a huge plus also. There are so many different Italian ice flavors to try, and I highly recommend getting a Joe-latti, which is Italian ice with a flavor of your choice + custard. It's the perfect balance and so delicious. Such a great place for a quick sweet treat, I highly recommend!

For dessert, one of my friends suggested to go here, so we came here and it didn't disappoint!! The refreshing yet creamy Joe Latti was the perfect choice! The decor inside is so classic American diner/ice cream parlor plus the Halloween decoration was so cute. The service was wonderful!

Wow!! I got the Dole Whip / vanilla soft serve swirl with mango ice (and a lot of other ice flavors I think they forgot to put in) and it was incredible. The ice cream is smooth and creamy - and it's always a special treat to get dole whip outside of Hawaii. The ice was flavorful without being too sweet or tasting like artificial syrup. It was all blended in already and the ice is smooth and snow like - not crunchy. It combined really well with the soft serve, so it really wasn't like an afterthought or just throwing ice cream upsells on random things. I got a little chilly eating so I recommend bringing a jacket if you're coming in winter time!

Ask the Community - Joe's Italian Ice

How many ounces are the small, regular, and the large Italian ice?

Hello! Our small Italian ice comes in a six ounce cup, our regular comes in a ten ounce cup, and our large comes in a sixteen ounce cup. All of ur Italian ices also have about a half-inch dome over the top when served. I hope this helps!

For delivery on Grubhub and Postmates, I noticed it was required to select two flavors. Are the flavors together or separate? (I was hoping to try both lemon and peanut butter cup.)

Hello! If you select two flavors on our Postmates (our only official takeout partner), you will receive both in the same cup. You can certainly also select only one flavor if you'd like it on its own.…

Do you have anything sugar free?

I have been there many times, and it is convenient as I work within walking distance of Sparky's. Whenever I am walking along Mill Avenue and am craving some ice cream, Sparky's is one of my main stops in the area. The ice cream is delicious. Some of my favorite flavors are Batter in Bed and Banana Cream Pie. However, I have had just about every flavor that they serve, and all of them are delicious in their own ways. I like the pleasant atmosphere. Nice and low-key place where you can relax and enjoy your ice cream. The general manager, Connor, is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He is always a pleasure to talk to whenever I have some time for a friendly conversation during my lunch break at work. Every time I stop by, he ensures I feel welcome and right at home. Another bonus is that they have a rewards program, which offers five dollars off once you accumulate enough points. I recommend it to anyone in the Downtown Tempe area who is looking for a delicious ice cream treat.

Service was non-existent and poor. Cashiers looked like they did not want to be there; they were out of strawberries which is a staple in a bunch of their cones. Cashier didn't make any recommendations to other ice cream cones of modifications to make the cones work in place of missing strawberries. I had to ask a few times to figure out if I could get a certain cone without strawberries. I got the Cheesecake Cone, it was good but very messy. I'd recommend sitting down to eat. I wasn't give a napkin or spoons but you definitely need it especially if it get hotter. The price is up there for a singular cone it's about $11, they also have optional tipping that doesn't feel optional. The restaurant is clean, but lacking in keeping you around. They have tables you can stand around outside, but the objective inside seems like to get you ice cream and get out; I'm sure it makes sense during busier times. All in all it's good, just not great. I'd come in again and when I do I hope the customer service is better.
