I've eaten at Joes locations around the metro east. This was a very good location. Despite being slow inside, the service was good and food was amazing. I got the cheese filled tortellini Alfredo with chicken and chefs kiss! The salad was just okay! Definitely a bar vibe if that's your thing! Parking that I could see was on the street. Wifey and I wanted something different, so we ordered (delivery) two salads. I went for the Cobb Salad with chicken; my wife picked the Spinach salad. Unfortunately, a staff member called and told her they were "out of spinach" What!? Never heard that before! So, she settled on the Chicken Caesar salad. She also ordered the Chocolate Cheesecake. Food arrived on time, and we took our food out of the bag. No salad dressing! Not a big deal since we always have some at the house. One thing I will say: these salads are HUGE! They really are meals in itself. My wife enjoyed hers; the chunky grilled chicken added good flavor to the salad. Mine was so-so. While the actual Cobb salad looked appetizing, I don't understand why I didn't get the same type of grilled chicken she got. These chicken strips were flavored with what tasted like a spicy Mexican sauce, almost like a taco. It had some kick to it, so much my nose started to get runny. I did not care much for it; the plain Cobb salad would have been much better. We shared the Chocolate Cheesecake, which was, shall we say, deliciously decadent. Value of the whole meal was good. Overall, outside of a few small issues, I would try them again. Recommended. Just watch out for the "taco flavored chicken". read more

Ok so we yelped this place to find something for dinner. Looked good so we came here. It is good. Different but good. We got the antipasta salad and the small was big enough for us to split and was good. Plenty of meat and cheese and it was tasty. Then we ordered a small 2 topping pineapple (yes fruit belongs on pizza). And pepperoni. Again a small was enough to split. The taste was good. I've had better pizza but this was a very good place if I could give it 4.5 I would. Looks like a typical pizza joint. The reason there was a half of a star tick is that their beer selection was pretty commercial. No ipas no craft and no draft. Service was great they know their menu. This place is a bit out of the way and was recommended to me by some of my coworkers so I decided to give it a shot. Honestly the pizza was a bit underwhelming. The first pizza I got was per the person who picked up the phone when I ordered and I got the Chicago style. When I received it, the base of the pizza was raw and doughy but the very bottom was cooked. She explained to me that they use two ovens to make sure that it's cooked but somehow there was still raw dough at the bottom. The second time I got a pizza from them it was a thin crust chicken, bacon, and ranch pizza that was honestly alright but a bit salty. The third thing I've eaten from here (I visited Joe's 3 times in 3 days) was the chicken alfredo hoping to get a different experience but the pasta noodles were overcooked, the sauce was tad generic and under seasoned. The chicken was fine. The salad was a bit plain but well done. The garlic bread was fairly good. It not only had butter and garlic but some sort of Cajun seasoning. All in all, would I get a pizza from here in the future? Sure, it would be a thin crust something. Would I opt to go here rather than another place? Who knows? Its prices are somewhat comparable to other establishments but the question remains, what does this place do better or different and honestly I don't have a good answer. read more

Of the things in the area, I'd go here again. Joe's was kind enough to deliver to me at the TA close to there closing time. They made sure to have the driver call me and give the food to the right person. . They did a good job on my special request, Chicken Parmigiana over fettuccini in Alfredo sauce! My favorite. The Alfredo was good, but was a little watered down for my taste, making me think whoever put the pasta in it didn't get enough water off. The portion is very good size with lots of cheese. The chicken was a large breaded and fried breast that was exactly what I expect. I ate about half and saved the other half for lunch today. The only thing they messed up was they didn't give me fettuccini, they put it over regular spaghetti. Fettuccini and Penne are much more my preference then regular spaghetti noodles for the dish. I got a side salad and it was good and fresh with pimento stuffed olives, croutons and cheese. It was small but enough. The highlight and what was perfection and unique from my experiences were the fried portobello mushroom slices. They were absolutely delicious. The breading was packed full of seasoning and the texture reminded me fondly of potato wedges from the deli or your favorite chicken shack. Soooo good. Found this place while on our way to Eastern Illinois University. We ordered a thin crust pizza (based on reading a few Yelp reviews) and side salads. Pizza seemed very similar to something you'd make with an at-home kit. Both pizza & salads were fine, but nothing special. Service was good, but I don't think we'd visit here again. read more

We all know that sometimes, despite a business's best efforts to perform well, and for all kinds of reasons many would find 'understandable,' they occasionally fall short. And usually, when they do, they make it right. I mean, the very fact that you're reading this review right now is an indication of just how tied customer service has become to the feedback loop. Which is why I was so surprised and disappointed with my experience this evening with Joe's. I've got no beef with Joe, and I had every reason to expect a great outcome with my order this evening. We have checked into a local hotel -- a respite for a birthday weekend for my 7-year-old daughter, just a short drive from our home in nearby St. Louis. The clerk on duty when we checked in actually recommended Joe's. So we called as soon as we unpacked at around 2:30 and asked for a 6:30 PM delivery of two large pizzas a couple of salads and a 2 L bottle of soda. The food arrived at about 6:05. We weren't terribly concerned about it being early, and we tipped the delivery person $10, but when we opened the boxes, the pizzas were both stone cold. I don't mean 'not piping hot,' and I don't mean 'luke warm,' I mean 'stone cold.' Our family had been looking forward to a little pizza party with one of my daughter's best friends, who had come over separately to enjoy a little swimming with us at the hotel. Everybody was starving by the time the food arrived, and the younger kids decided to eat a few pieces anyway, although nobody was happy with the quality of the food. Again, this was stone cold pizza for which we had just paid $40 plus a $10 tip. They had also neglected to include our two salads in the order. Not fatal, but disappointing. I called the restaurant immediately and asked to speak with the manager. I was given someone who said that she was the manager, but once we began talking about the issue, it became clear she did not have decision making authority. I let her know that our pizzas had arrived cold, and that we were dissatisfied but were willing to let it go if they would simply refund our credit card payment. She stepped away from the phone for about a minute, evidently to discuss the matter with someone who did have the authority, but when she came back all she could offer was a store credit. I told her that would do me no good, as we did not reside in the area and did not expect to be back anytime soon. She then offered to re-bake the pizzas and deliver them hot, which was an OK solution, but I knew that with swimming on order and the kids having already eaten a few pieces of cold pizza, they weren't likely to want to stick around another 30-plus minutes waiting for pizza that should've been delivered hot the first time. I agreed to the re-bake and hot delivery. She seemed to doubt my original complaint as evidenced by her insistence that the driver would need to recover the original pizzas if she was to replace them. Okay, so deliver cold pizzas, ask me to wait 40 minutes until you can get me hot ones, tell my kids to not touch the pizzas you're going to throw away anyway and expect repeat business or positive recommendations? Ummm, no. All-in-all, this was just handled poorly. Despite my query to confirm that she was, in fact, the manager, I learned later that the young woman I was speaking with was not the store manager with whom managerial authority was vested. That would, evidently, be 'Ben.' Ben never came to the phone when I asked earlier to speak with a manager. Ben didn't handle this with accountability befitting a manager. To you, Joe's Pizza & Pasta, maybe it's just another order. But people celebrate with pizza. It's part of an event for them. Its quality actually matters, and temperature is kind of a big deal in the quality department. Next time, when your customer calls before your delivery guy is even out the front door of the hotel to say the pizza is stone cold, believe him and make it right. That would have earned a 5-star review and not a 1-star review. read more

We intentionally sought this Joe's to preview the soon-to-open location in our town 25 miles away. Food quality across the board was disappointing. The "Chicago style" pizza was thin, the toppings sparse, and the crust tasteless. We took half home to reheat but I am not optimistic that it will even be edible. "House salad" was a stingy mound of iceberg with other cheap toppings like red cabbage and grated carrots, the main saving grace being the olives; cucumbers were bitter. If it wasn't for the blue cheese dressing the salad would have been mostly tasteless, too. We mentioned to the friendly server that we were there to audition the menu for the new location, and asked for confirmation that it was going to be the same. She assured us that it was, adding that they have eight (?) other locations, all the same except one take-out-only store. You would think the "Since 1972" would impart a perfected menu and distinctive taste, but you would be wrong. Bottom line of this first visit is that it is likely to be our last, at any location. read more

So I ordered from here because their menu states they have Chicago-style pizza pizza so with great expectation I got there deep dish stuffed pizza. With great disappointment when I got back to my hotel room there deep dish stuffed pizza was literally about a quarter of an inch thick and the sauce was super sweet. As a native chicagoan they should really not advertised as a Chicago style pizza place. read more

If you order pizza to go check it before you leave. I ordered an XL Pepperoni to go. Picked it up and when I got to where we were going to eat, we were really surprised. The red sauce is the only thing to went all the way to the crust. The cheese was two inches short all the way around. The pepperoni was hard to find and then it was my fault for picking it up five minutes early because the hot cheese had run into all the slice areas and was solid again. Fortunately I had a pocket knife to slice it again. Also if you use a credit card they will charge you an extra 3% of the bill AND the sales tax. Good luck. read more

This is my first time ordering and my last. I was born and raised in Chicago so I definitely know the stuff/deep dish pizzas very well. I ordered the stuffed crust and there was nothing STUFF about it. More like malnutrition. The slices were very thin, why would you name it stuff but it's thin slices? I looked at this pizza before I walked away with it and asked the girl is this the stuffed? She said yes, this is our Chicago stuffed crust. I told her I'm from Chicago and this is NOT stuffed. This pizza looked nothing like the pics of the stuff on their menu. The cheese is terrible, Pizza Hut and little ceasers have better cheese than this. The cheese was tough and I had to chew longer. This crap was overpriced for what they have given me. I've taken pics and take a good look, these slices are thin and not stuffed. You need to stop lying on Chicago and giving my city that's well known for it's great stuffed and deep-dish pizza a bad name. Those who are reading this, look at my pics and then go to google and type "Giordanos pizza" and you will see the difference on how we do in Chicago versus this generic bootleg version. Discovered this place traveling through Illinois and stumbled across it as I was craving some pizza. Was a small little place a couple streets off the main strip of town. We were greeted right away and sat down to catch the game on their TV while we ordered our food. The menu selection is huge with various crust selections, pasta choices, unique specialty pizza options. We chose a regular crust pepperoni and the cheese stuffed breadsticks for an appetizer. The breadsticks came out very quickly and they were the most amazing breadsticks and the marinara dipping sauce had the absolute best taste. Once the pizza came it was generously topped with cheese and sprinkled with herbs. The pizza was fantastic and the waiters were very friendly and available. I sure hope I have an opportunity to come back and try some of their other options, especially their HUGE stuffed crust pizza that looked amazing. read more

I ate at this restaurant recently and the overall experience was terrible, the silverware was still dirty and hadn't been washed as well as it should have and the floor was sticky. The servers are mostly teenage girls who mostly act as if the customers and the problem and there almost always in a bad mood, on top of that most of our food arrived cold. The food in its self was awful, the cheese felt like rubber and the pizza was burnt on the outside and not cooked on the inside (it tasted like cardboard), the spaghetti sauce was watered down and practically flavourless and the mozzarella sticks were cold and the cheese on the inside was hard to bite into. The dessert took a very long time to arrive to our table which would be okay if they had to make it but it was. A packaged dessert, it shouldn't have to them that long to put it in a plate and bring it to our table. Overall we had a bad experience here and don't we don't suggest a visit to this place. read more
