We stopped in here for lunch after visiting the NPS site down the road. Even at 1pm there wasn't much of a crowd and we were seated immediately. The kid ordered spaghetti and meat sauce (on the side as he does). You can order garlic bread for an extra 75 cents and a salad for an extra $2. That seems a little excessive, but we got the garlic bread anyway. We also ordered a small extra cheese pizza and a side salad for me with blue cheese dressing. The lunch portion of spaghetti is really small, even for the 12 year old kid. The sauce was a little on the sweet side, but full of tomato chunks and lots of ground beef. The garlic bread was nice, warm and they use real garlic. The pizza was good - a nice thin crust and lots of cheese. It's definitely not a true NY style, but it's tasty. The salad was a good size and the veggies were fresh. I wasn't a huge fan of the dressing - not enough blue cheese taste. All in all not a bad experience and the friendly service guarantees we would go here again if in the area. read more

I really do like the burgers and pizza here, but oh my goshsomeone there needs a serious personality revamp!! Due to a tight evening schedule, I called on a to-go order; the call was answered by a very curt woman who sounds to be from NJ. She obviously doesn't want to be there today, from her attitude. I asked for a cheeseburger. She was put out that I asked what comes on it, didn't appreciate my query regarding the cheese, and then I had to stop her from hanging up on me to add to the order! Asked for fries, prompting her snotty response that "it comes with it." After the call ended, I decided it may not be good, schedule-wise, to wait for the burger/fries, so immediately called back to cancel my order. Sad, as I really like Joe's burgers. Well, who should answer but the unpleasant woman? No surprise, but she actually hung up on me! I don't think, after the year we're all still trying to recover from, any business would benefit from employing such sullen, mean people. Dump the woman, please Joe's! Napoli Cowboy's burgers are just as good, but with excellent, cheerful, helpful staff, and they care about folks!! read more

I got a salad I was nothing special just a basic salad. Got the white and Hawaii pizza was ok I liked the white pizza better had more flavor. The menu was a basic Italian restaurant menu. The service was ok probably will not be going back. read more

Really like the food here! Their tomato sauce in particular is excellent. We had pizza there once, time, and were lucky enough to be ordering it on the day it was on special, so paid half price for the second pie. It is my favorite so far in SML. We came in once when they had the buffet, which gave me a chance to try many of their different entrees. Most were very good. This is your typical faux Italian fare with buffet and also menu items. I am giving it two stars because I give it the handicap of being in a touristy country area. Food is mostly overcooked, pizza is not very good, everything has cheese in it. Of course we did not go there expecting anything extraordinary. Let me start this review with a disclaimer. I always get my food to-go from this place, so I cannot vouch for the buffet that is offered. My review is just for those who want to swing by and grab some food to take with them. Next, let me give you a tip on how to find this place, as it is not visible from the road. This may sound like the oddest thing you've read, but you need to turn between the car wash and the giant chicken. The chicken? What kind of directions are those? Trust me. As you're driving along and you see a giant chicken statue on the side of the road you need to turn and slowly, I repeat slowly, drive over the hill. Why so slow? Because only one car can get through at a time! They offer different pastas, sandwiches, pizzas and strombolis on their menu. The pizza is good here, nothing super special, but its tasty and always fresh. Personally, I enjoy getting subs here, as they come with french fries instead of chips. The subs aren't huge, but a good amount for a meal, and come on a deliciously chewy italian bread sub roll. The hoagie is my personal favorite, but the meatball sub always looks delicious when others order it. I'd stay away from the philly cheese steak as it is very hit or miss as to whether it will be tender or not. If you call in your to-go order it is almost always ready at the precise time they say it will be. They have normal hours during the winter, which is not something all the restaurants have here. Yes, in the spring and summer this place is going to be packed with tourists and those who just spend summers at the lake. However, if you are one of those tourists I speak of this is a great place to grab some to-go food to take with you for a picnic or to take out on the boat with you. read more

Ya' gotta' know this place is there to find it, but when you do you'll get your pizza no where else in SML. Sauce is not greasy or drenched in seasoning; just right for hard to please palates. We've not had any entrees yet so can only attest to the great pizza. I'd give it 5 stars if their wings had been good...then again it is Joes Pizza not Joes Wings. read more

I visited for the first time and I was impressed. At the recommendation of the friendly waitress, I ordered the baked spaghetti and I will say that the flavors were blended perfect to my taste. It was also cooked to perfection, and not overly dry. I asked the waitress where the owner was from and she said "straight from Sicily". So, I figured I was not getting any "fake Italian" food here. I have since spoke to some friends about the place and they say the buffets are great. I was told there was one on Sunday, also. I was able to sit outside under the umbrellas which was nice and quaint. I don't know why I never visited this place before, but I will definitely go back to try more dishes. I had a little hard time finding it, you have to turn between the "chicken" and the carwash and it is down the hill. It is on the side closest to the carwash. read more

I have gone to this restaurant many times over the last 4 or 5 years. I have never ordered off the menu, we always take the buffet. I find the food consistent, well prepared, and fresh. Their meatballs are great and the sauces have always been flavorful. I have taken out of state visiting friends to Joe' and every one of them expressed their approval. It does have the typical Italian scenery on the walls, but is actually tastefully done.. Every one of the servers and staff have been extremely friendly and attentive to the customers, and check frequently for drink refills and if they can get you anything else. There is an outdoor area with seating, but I don't stray too far from the buffet tables.The prices are very reasonable. If you have trouble finding it, all you have to do is look for is the big chicken (you'll know it when you see it) and turn by the car wash and go in back. read more

The only reason I'm writing this review is that I used a search engine to find their number and saw they only have three stars--and one of the reviews was quite negative. I live at the lake and I've been to Joe's way more times than I can count. The food and the service are reliably good. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it's simply not a five star kind of place. It's a locally owned mid/low price point. read more
