They even have carpet, soft lighting, and ample seating to try on your choices. A big switch from the concrete floor and warehouse lighting of the store I'd visited years ago. Once I got Dad settled, I went to the women's area. There were so many shoes, and a nice size range for most choices. There is also a lot of discounts with price points from high 20's to mid 100's. The store was very well organized, and has a large kids' section. I tried on some flats and then on a whim tried on some suede Doc Martens that I loved. Don't be alarmed, the higher priced shoes are only one in the box in the store floor and an associate will need to get you the matching pair in the storeroom. As I told you, it's been years since I've been in a shoe store so I needed to get with the program! The purchase itself went smoothly and I received a 20% discount for joining DSW rewards. The lady who helped me was very efficient, pleasant, and helpful. They have a 90 day return policy if the shoes are in their original box and are only worn indoors. They also have an order online/store pickup option. Turns out my Dad found two pairs and now has a great pair of high-tops and Adidas slides. My first appointment for my personal fitting was on a Saturday morning. Once I arrived I was greeted and taken to a sitting area in front of a foot scanning machine. I was asked a few questions and then placed my feet on the machine to be scanned. After the scanning process was done, and I was then asked by the female assistant what type of shoe I was looking for; i.e. standard every day, dress/casual, or running. I told them something like my New Balance 998's that I was wearing st the time of my visit. So the lady helping me decided to find a New Balance they had in stock that could work. Once all of that was taken care I was then given another follow up appointment, to try the fit of the new custom orthotics and shoes. At my follow up appt I then tried on my new shoes with the custom orthotics. Once I had both pair on the lady helping me had me walk around the store with them on to see how they felt, because if they didn't feel right I could get the orthotics fix and tried on again. Everything felt fine though so I took my new shoes home after thst fit. Overall: Staff was very professional and extremely helpful, and I left with ni issues with my new shoe or custom orthotics.
