An Average Shopping Trip -- Not Great, Not Terrible The service here was just okay. There seemed to be a bit of a scavenger hunt to find a staff member when we needed help with inventory. To be fair, the store wasn't busy, so it might've been an awkward time of day -- maybe during a shift change or staff rotation. We were there specifically for jeans, and while the selection of styles was solid, the color range was limited. The sizing also felt pretty generic. My daughter has a slim waist and long legs, which meant she had to choose between jeans that were either long enough but baggy in the waist or perfectly fitted but too short. The employee was kind enough to suggest checking the website for more options -- but between you and me, if I have to go online anyway, what's the point of the store? That said, it wasn't all bad. My daughter did find a something that worked, and the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Overall, it wasn't a win, but it wasn't a loss either -- just a middle-of-the-road experience. No as to the value I can't speak to that because we walked out $80 lighter and on 3 pairs of jeans heavier. So, I will let you judge the value for yourself. When you come to your verdict let me know so I can go back or stay away. So, I'm giving it 3 stars. The sizes are too big online so I came in to exchange with smaller sizes, and they were able to honor the price I had bought the items worth previously. The cashiers are super nice and helpful. I've been to this location a few times in the past and happened to stop by while in Elk Grove recently. The store was clean and well-stocked with summer clothes. Came for some denim shorts and left satisfied with my purchase. Utilized the dressing room, which was clean. Went in shopping for last minute gifts on the Saturday before Christmas, as I usually do, and all the staff was AMAZING. I only remember Micah from the front's name. He helped me picking up on online order, and then I did some extra shopping while in store. The manager in the Christmas hat was helpful and I could hear him driving and motivating the team to provide the best service. I cannot remember the name of the cashier that checked us out, but she had a septum piercing, if I remember correctly, and had long dark hair. She was so kind and looked up my items online to get the best price. I went to many stores that day, and this service stood out above almost all the other stores. I feel like I've been sleeping on Old Navy. Lol I usually only shop here during the holidays for gifts but their clothes are really great quality! They've also had sales everyday since Black Friday. I came in the other day and found a really nice blazer style jacket for my friend at 60% off! Items that are typically $70-$80 were only $30. It was so nice. They have great quality pajamas too. I love thermals in the winter and their selection is wide. It is hard to find sizes after black Friday though. I'm not sure if they get more inventory throughout the season but every time I've gone in, they didn't have any larger sizes available. Their jeans are also very comfortable and affordable!! This Old Navy in Elk Grove looked dated as soon as I talked into the store. But the store still looks good and is easy to navigate through all departments. The prices of the clothes and accessories carried by Old Navy are more affordable when I compare them to the other stores. They're focused on younger men and women. Also, the store has an extensive section for kids. The clearance corners have a lot of deeper markdown clothing on sale. Some of the clothes are an outstanding selection and rock-bottom prices. I don't normally do reviews for stores but I wanted to do it here because all of the staff I've encountered have always been so nice and helpful during this busy holiday season. The manager at this Old Navy Elk Grove location is amazing! I don't know his name but he's usually there during the day. He was there on 12/11 around 3pm. He is so patient with his staff and with customers. He always hears a customers concern and is very understanding and helpful. I wish I knew his name but he's doing a great job! I like Old Navy because they have awesome sales and stylish clothing. The store in Elk Grove is usually clean and organized, if it's not during the holiday season. However, checking out can be a wait. I have walked in to the store to see about several people waiting to check out. When it came time for me to check out it was a bit of a wait! They usually had 1 or 2 cashiers working. And when you looked at the employees on the sales floor, they had plenty of people walking around and cleaning and folding clothes. If it is during the holiday season, I highly recommend shopping online. If you prefer to shop in person, go early or prepare for potential long lines. Regardless, the employees are usually friendly. I appreciate that there are plenty of sizes and styles of clothing to choose from. I can usually find the color, size, and style I want. The sales definitely help the wallet too. I tend to let my Old Navy clothing air dry to prolong the life of the clothing. The tops are usually thin, so you may have to layer them. I love Old Navy athleisure styles too! I was in there on Saturday buying school clothes for my girls, and the individual (with facial piercings) working the changing room was really rude. I had to try a few sizes on my daughters, and when I was done, I hung up all of the unwanted clothes or neatly folded them. As soon as I opened the door with my items in tow (I spent about 300 dollars), she rudely told me to go back in the room and place the items I didn't want on her cart. She's literally getting paid to work the dressing room and can walk 3 feet to the neat stack I made. It was such bad customer service. It's like people have lost all manners. read more

Store was a bit messy and things were put with wrong signs. I ended up putting back a few pants due to the pricing difference. Also have a tough time about the teacher discount. Needed to have an id or badge but not all schools are in session yet & picture day isn't until a month later and I didn't bring my old id. Usually a work email is sufficient at most places. I ordered online from old navy, but I didn't get my parcel. When I was complaining about my order they told me it was delivered by the third party and it was not their fault. That is so bad service of old navy. Old navy took money, I didn't get anything in exchange of that. No refund, no package. I spent $102 and that was totally wastage of money. This time I found it interesting that when entering the fitting room..the sales person, chose to give me the fitting room directly in front her and asked what my name and number was so "she could see how many loyalty points I had". Every time I'm in the shopping center where this store is located, I tell myself I need to check them out. But more often than not, I spend too much time in the neighboring stores to the point of not having any more time to go in. This time I finally went in with little expectations on finding much in my size or style. I was actually pleasantly surprised to find there was clothing and accessories that drew my interest. Came in on a Monday at around 11 am to do some returns. To my surprise, they had all of the registers blocked off and no one working cashiers. Someone told me to go to the front of the store and I see a single person doing returns/online pick ups. She was great by the way and able to pull up receipts using a phone number instead of me trying to pull up multiple emails with the receipts for multiple online orders. They do have self check out so they seem to be encouraging that more instead of having cashiers. An older lady was told to use self check out but she was in line behind me since she didn't know how to use self check out but an employee walked her through it. read more

After almost 5 years, I went to old navy to use my gift card. I was able to find kids clothes on sale. It was 20% off on certain summer clothes. Great deal. Check them out if you love deals like me. It was pretty quiet today, 3 days after Christmas. I was expecting a long line around opening time, but given that it's a Monday, perhaps many are back at work. I came to return things I bought in store and online. The process was pretty simple. They were able to look up the in-store purchase through credit card and Apple Pay! They also can look up online purchases using the delivery bag you get in the mail (there's a barcode). I love that Old Navy has these different ways of returning without having to have a physical receipt. It makes returns so convenient. Service was also friendly. read more

I have been coming to this location for years. It is conveniently located near my house, about 5-10 minutes, and they always advertise affordably cute clothes for the whole family! Plus, as an Old Navy or sister company holder, the perks are even better. More than 50% of my kids' clothes when they were younger were from here, my daughter's still till this day. Can't beat $5 tops, like tanks and tees, cotton shorts, and leggings! I also purchase a lot of everyday items from here too, such as sandals, cardigans, and tanks. Their material for cotton items don't shrink as dramatically as compared to other retailers I shop at, which is awesome! The reason why I give this particular location 3 stars is due to their lack of customer service. I worked in customer service for 7 years, so I find this very important if your job requires you to assist and interact with the public. I usually walk around in the store for almost 30+ minutes. Every time I come and 9 times out of 10 will I never have an employee acknowledge me or asking if I need help finding something. Same goes for the cashiers when I'm finally ready to check out. No how's your day going, did you find everything you needed, etc. However, what's fairly new I'd say within the last year, is purchasing online and picking it up in store. You don't have to deal with the super long lines, unorganized tables piled with mismatched clothes, and inattentive employees when you're trying to find something. This option is extremely convenient, typically available within a few hours of ordering, and no problem if you can't pick it up that day. They hold it for another few days! read more

Yes I gave one star, but in reality I can't even give this location a 1/2 star for being so unwilling to make a customer happy when they had the means to. One pair of toddler size 6 boots in the store (in the entire area) on a model, so I ask for her to take it off of the model for me and the "manager" tells me that it's against their "policy" to take items off of the models! So that means it's against their policy to satisfy their customers. Well it my policy not support this location and to spread the word that the store and manager are unwilling to make their customers happy. Update to my review... after leaving the Elk Grove Old Navy I checked online for availability of the boots and found that online there was stock at the Arden Way store (the manager told me that there weren't any available in the area) so I called Arden and the girl on the phone was so nice and asked if she could put a pair back for me, which she did. They sell everything from jeans, t shirts, socks, flip flops, sleepwear, vests, winter jackets, scarves, running ( workout ) outfits, to snacks and much more!!! The store was stocked and employees were folding and stocking merchandise displays. They have radios to communicate back and forth. One employee stopped and asked if I needed help! I found a nice blue vest that comes with a hoodie! It's kinda fluffy and warm!! It was even on sale! SCORE!!! They have one of those winding lines to the register. It wasn't too long of a wait. They have one of those gimmicks where you get an additional discount if you take out their store brand credit cards! Yikes! Sorry. If I took out a credit card for every store I frequent...I would need a dump truck for a wallet!! Lol. No offense to this store or any other stores trying to drum up business! This is for Old Navy in general, not the Elk Grove store. I've just been made aware that their fast cash is a "one time deal". I usually never get to use it because I don't remember to use it within their specified time frame. I had a $40 and $20 fast cash to use and I wanted to buy my son a jacket and I usually shop online. Online, it said they didn't have the jacket in his size in store so I ordered a couple pairs of pants and long sleeve shirts...only because I wanted to use my fast cash coupons and not let them go to waste. The pants didn't fit him right so I had to return them. While in the store, I saw the jacket I wanted for him in his size so I asked to do an exchange. That's when I was told that I can't use my fast cash because it was a "one time deal". The manager tried to be accommodating and said she'd give me a $10 fast cash toward the jacket, but I said no thank you. She asked if I was hoping to be able to use my $40 fast cash. Um, yes, I was hoping to use ALL the fast cash I earned by shopping here and by using my Old Navy card. I said that I wasn't interested in any of the purchases, and that I wouldn't be shopping at Old Navy anymore as I returned my entire order. There are plenty of other places to shop for boys clothes. Old Navy always have deals! Their clothing are inexpensive to begin with. How much cheaper can it really get? I was in search for a sweater for husband & an outfit for my newborn son. When I found what I was looking for, we went to checkout to find out the lines were crazy long! It stretched out to the childrens section. I felt like leaving my items where I stood and just walking out. I really needed the clothing so I had my husband and son wait in line while I went next door to Bed Bath & Beyond to grab a gift. I was in & out of Bed Bath & Beyond within 10 minutes (or even less). When I came back my husband and son were next in line! I really like going to this location more so than the one on Howe Ave. It is more well kept and organzied. Employees were quick and friendly. Old Navy has always been my all time favorite store when I was a kid! I think this store carries cuter clothes for young children than for adults. They have a huge selection in every section from infants, kids, to adults; but I really found the clothing for adults to not be very form-fitting. The children's clothes are CHEAP and affordable which is a plus. I will definitely be back here shopping for baby clothes! I also love that they do carry maternity clothes here; but not a very big selection unfortunately! read more

I feel like it will go on sale sooner or later, but then I risk them running out of my size. There's a pretty big clearance section as well, which is usually messy. I don't have much patience to rummage through it. The last time I went, the wait time for the cashier was terrible! There was only one cashier and I was the next and only person in line. Unfortunately, the customer ahead of me is someone that makes me thankful I don't work in retail.
