Though I'm more a Nordstrom's shopper than I am a Rack shopper, I love this location in Elk Grove. I can return online purchases to the Rack with no hassle, and today, I was able to pick up a purchase ordered from another Nordstrom store that was overnight delivered to this location. Their pickup area is in the back of the store so you didn't have to wait in the cashier line, and was very convenient. I really appreciated the service and help I received from Asim. My best experience in this location is from Asim and Dean, who are so efficient, professional, gracious and helpful. Their service will keep me coming back. read more

Same 3 stars a year and a half later. I use to shop at the Howe About Arden location with great success. Not so much here. IDK what the difference is but this place just feels ho-hum, blah to me. Nice staff made a couple purchases recently. Made a purchase from the mothership Nordstrom and tried to make that return here. Oops, I didn't know we were cross pollinating on two different systems. It was ordered by my with. It seemed like it might be unable to be achieved and then my associate Victoria reached out to her boss and the got working on it. Fortunately it was purchased on my wife's account so ultimately I just needed her phone number and email address. A little hunting and pecking on the keyboard was required. It is nice having a Rack in Elk Grove. This particular store is a nice one. They have a great selection of clothing items and a decent selection of shoes. The store always busy and typically not well staffed. The employees do their best, but the lines are long and while the employees are usually nice they are overwhelmed at times. Come here for decent deals if you do not want to drive to Roseville for a full Nordstrom. read more

Felt out of place ... clothes were everywhere and I think the front of the store should get more cashiers because it took almost 20 minutes before anyone would help me . My experience was shifted from bad to good once the young man with the beard helped me and also informed me he just got back from break which made it more understandable to know at least he thought my time that was wasted was valued more than anything . Pleased with my finds at this location. I was in the market for a semi formal dress for a wedding to use on Dress Up night on a cruise. Found a perfect knee length dress, fit just right and the plus the price. With all the mark downs it was a steal. Also found casual slacks and top for our up coming cruise. Love the fact I can find well made clothing for a discounted price. You do have to go through the racks to find the right treasure. read more

Great shopping atmosphere and unique name brand selections at a discount. This store was packed with goods but neatly ordered and pleasant environment. Staff was unobtrusive but helpful. I thought it was new, I had never noticed this store even though I go to the Costco in this shopping center 1-2 times a month. Nope, it opened in May of 2024! I missed it. My sister and I enjoyed our experience shopping here. I was especially impressed with the array of cosmetics and personal care brands, many premium and at a good discount. It is located/ adjacent to the Elk Grove Blvd. Costco shopping center. What's on offer: Shoes, women's clothing, jewelry, bags, watches, children's and men's clothing sections as well as the aforementioned grooming and cosmetics Section. The line moved quickly (as opposed to the TJ Maxx we had just endured) and the store had an upbeat, clean, and welcoming environment. The person who checked me out was charming and efficient. I went there twice, both times it was a disappointment. So I have been a lot of Nordstrom Rack in my life, in US and Canada. This one the inventory was like as if all rejects are sent to this location. There is no real brand names. It's one of those store with "brand names" that they mark it down to make it sound like it is a bargain, but the styles are quite dated and the sizings are all wrong. For example, I am a size 8. My relatives are size 2 or 4 (at least two sizes smaller than me). I bought (and returned) a pair of size 4 NYDJ for my relatives, a brand I am familiar with. When I bought it I already noticed it is abnormally huge, like huge enough for me. As a joke I tried it on, and I fit in them and still have extra room. Needless to say it was returned. They have some Ralph Lauren with super size and like years old in stock (aka rejects). Their activewear for men as more expensive than other store (e.g. Nike which I am already a member so I know the prices). Their suitcase, like a Tumi (another brand I catalogue the prices as I used to bought it for others) hand-carry was at bargain price of above $600. The shoe selection... beyond words to describe. Actually the first time I went there, there were kids shows in clear plastic containers as if it were garage sale... The staff is nice. The inventory is a problem. I am hoping the inventory improves, as at this rate, it is TJmaxx inventory at not TJMaxx prices...I love Nordstrom and hope they can have a good one near Costco near my in laws! read more

Although I'm not a huge Kardashian fan, I have to give them (Kim specifically) credit for their Skims clothing line. It's been a while since I have had clothing and underclothing that feel like butter on my skin and accentuated my manly curves. Until recently, I ordered all of my Skims clothing directly from their webpage. However, I recently discovered that Nordstrom's online store also sells Skims. You're probably wondering why I would prefer to buy their products from Nordstrom vs. the Skims store, well I'm glad that you asked! Nordstrom allows for you to return Skims sale items; however, the same items that are on sale on the Skims website are listed as "final sale" aka no returns accepted! Not to mention, if you have your online Skims purchase sent to your local Nordstrom (in this case it's the Nordstrom Rack here in Elk Grove), you can try the order on in the store and return it immediately if it does not fit. Skims products aside (I promise you that I'm not a spokesperson for their products), I like visiting this location for the in-store pickup option and the friendly staff! read more

I like the discounted prices at the Rack, and it's a great place to browse for deals. I usually browse for certain items, including the kids' section. If you take your time looking through the racks, you can find some good deals on brand name items. I'm really disappointed with my recent experience at Nordstrom Rack. I went in to purchase a pair of boots that had a red tag clearly marked at $53. However, when I got to the register, the cashier scanned the branded tag instead, and the total came out to $244. It was confusing and honestly frustrating because the displayed sale price was a huge reason I decided to buy them. The pricing felt misleading, and the situation wasn't handled in a way that made me feel valued as a customer. I left feeling really disappointed by the experience. I also found a pair of Born shoes I was on the fence about while visiting a Rack in So Cal and presto....saw them in Elk Grove and thought I better not leave them a second time! I avoid coming to this location at all costs I've had nothing but bad experiences here. Sadly to say! I had a pickup and return to do today and when I called to confirm my order was ready for pick up Some employee named Tammy answered and when I asked to confirm her response was "well, did you get an email "? I said "yes, but in the past I've received emails and my order wasn't ready", she's like "ugh hold on"! Anyhow she connected me to someone else and I had to ask that young lady and she verified my order was there. So I come in I pick up my order, make my way to the front so I could return my other order. A cashier named Josh had the most stank attitude ever. Really busy weekend - probably due to it just having opened last week, and it's the weekend. Decent selection of shoes, sunglasses, toiletries, clothing items. They even had restroom and fitting room areas in the back. Due to the opening of this, this shopping plaza has now become even busier on a weekend afternoon. While reviewing the shoe prices for instance, that didn't give me the impression that the place was a Nordstrom Rack - especially when compared to specific other retailers. Despite that, there was still lots of foot traffic in the store and more customers in the parking lot walking toward the store. read more

I never have to worry about this place being clean it always is. From the second you walk in it feels like ur shopping in a magazine. The layout is aesthetic and organized. Everything is spaced out correctly so you can actually look through clothes. I found the cutest free people top and the staff were friendly and helped me find my size. Firstly, this location has only been open for 1 week, so give them more time to work out the kinks. I arrived 30 minutes prior to closing, I figured I would beat the crowd by showing up later. There were definitely fewer people than during the day, but still very busy compared to other The Rack locations. The clothes, shoes, all the merchandise were very organized and neat. I found a couple of shoes and headed toward the registers before the last minute frenzy began. There were about 10 people ahead of me, so I had some time to make some observations while standing in line. Here's where the 2 stars were deducted. The woman standing in line ahead of me was an employee. How did I know? Because she proceeded to have banter with the staff working the registers while she stood in line. Upon closer inspection, she was wearing the black apron some staff memw bers wear. They weren't shouting by any means, but voices obviously had to be projected in order for them to speak to one another. Anyway, I found this to be a bit distracting and inappropriate given the environment. As I got closer to the register, I noticed that the staff there were also very relaxed in their interactions among one another while facing customers. I don't know if I'm expecting too much here, but this isn't the typical experience I've had at other locations. Maybe I'll attribute it to age as they were all young. Either way, the store itself is well kept and I'm so glad we now have The Rack in Elk Grove. read more

Nordstroms cheeped out on the real estate space here. The racks overwhelm every inch of the store. The layout is typical but due to the small space it's crowded and uncomfortable where you're bumping into people and things. Pretty disappointing the space wasn't a forethought as Elk Groves population continues to grow substantially and the lack of options of clothes shopping is non existent. read more
