Holy melt in your mouth Mexican Brownies Batman! This place has got it going on. Stopped into this cute little bakery to pick up some sweet treats. So much going on I didn't know where to start. We opted for two of the sample packs as well as some biscotti. I mean, when a place names themselves after a specific treat, it would be wrong not to try it right? We got the 8 pack for $15; 2 each of 3 flavors and then one flavor my husband wanted and one I wanted. All of them were delicious and hard not to scarf down. They happened to have some samples of the Mexican Brownie near the register. So two of those immediately got added to our growing bag of loot upon the chocolatey goodness melting on our tongues. They were ooey-gooey-fudge brownies that melted in your mouth but magically stayed in tact. Give JB's a try for your next party. Can't believe I waited so long to post this review, everything I ate was right on the money! I mean this is what makes a regular eater a foodie...whatever that means lol. I would not have known of this place, but came by the suggestion of Lindsey as a part of UYE (Unofficial Yelp Event). The store is small..quaint is a more fitting word, sounds kind of vintagey and that's the vibe I get there. This is type of place that you would easily pass over if you're always driving, but wow...the desserts were just perfection. Took a walking tour of quaint downtown Safety Harbor, and made JB a destination after lunch. Glad I did! The shop is very small and easy to miss. There is a variety of good looking brownies, cakes, cookies, and of course, biscottis, all fairly priced. The nicest fellow works there; Mr. JB, himself? I got the giant chocolate, peanut butter, coconut, and oatmeal cookie for $1.50. So moist, chewy, & delicious! AND any purchase gets you a FREE K-cup coffee! Love single cup, fresh brewed coffee. This place is super easy to get to with a parking lot across from it and some side street parking. Its a pretty non descript kind of place inside and out but man I love that small town vibe. I decided on the cherry brownie and the dark chocolate cookie. I really wanted to like this place. I showed up around noon so there was a pretty good selection left which was awesome. I should have went with cake because it looked so delicious and densely moist. The cookie was thick and reminiscent of the levain style cookies but thats where the similarities ended. The flavor was great but the texture of the cookie was crumbly and hard. It definitely tasted stale as well. Heating it up in the microwave helped with that a little. Good cookie but nothing special. The brownie could have been so good but I couldnt get over the fake cherry flavoring in the icing on top. There were real cherries in the actual brownie which were huge and delicious. The brownie itself was thick and fudgey just like I like 'em but man, why the fake cherry extract in the icing on top?! I just scraped it off and ate it without. Again, good brownie but nothing special. As a home baker I can make better at home and $4 for a brownie was pretty steep for what I got. read more

They have five freakin chips in them: butterscotch, semi sweet chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter, and toffee....in a dark chocolate cookie. Cute bakery with huge variety. We couldn't decide on just one treat, so decided to get a sampler pack. It included 4 squares of different treats. They were about an inch by an inch in size. It included key lime bar, pineapple coconut bar, toffee chocolate and cranberry walnut cake. My favorite was the pineapple coconut. We sat outside at their only 2 seated table, which was nice. I was in the Tampa area visiting a friend last week and heard about this place. Who am I to turn down the opportunity to check out a good bakery? The shop is adorable, smelled great and we were greeted by a super-friendly and helpful man as we entered. Everything looked awesome, but we decided on the Cherry Pistachio and Cinnamon Toast Biscotti. Both were fantastic. Crisp and fresh and very flavorful. It's hard to get biscotti texture just right and these were perfect. We went back for more on our way to the airport home. Worth the trip. This place is a shop local gem! I seriously wanted one of everything in the case. I started with the lime coconut bar with bittersweet chocolate drizzle. This delightful treat was the perfect blend of sweet from the chocolate and lime tartness and decant coconut. It was very moist and sinful. I also got to try the Mexican fiesta brownie with a little kick of heat. This was also very good. It was a great fudge brownie with just the right about of spice. The last thing that I tried which also ended up being my favorite was the gooey pineapple lover's cake with coconut pecan frosting. This cake was soooo moist and tasty. Again it was not overly sweet but just right. I got several things to go including the Biscotti which I had with my evening coffee. I had the Mexican Mocha and it was very tasty. Yes it is hard but it is supposed to be. I loved how I didn't lose it in my cup when I not gently dunked it several times. I got to meet Steven, one of the co-owners, he was very nice an told us all about their products and that everything is made in the shop using quality ingredients and that their cakes and goodies do change from time to time. This is an amazing bakery in the main street of Safety Harbor; in fact, I would say it's one of the best in the area. They have a great selection of Biscotti, hence the name. But the item I absolutely adore is their chocolate cookies. It was so moist and had so many different kinds of chips...OMG, I just loved every second I had with it; In fact, it was so good, I literally ate it from the ground. It fell on the pavilion and I still ate it. You can judge me all you want, but I will eat their cookies anytime and any place. I also had their Ooey Gooey Pineapple, sorry if I said the name wrong. It was very moist, but I thought it was a bit bland. To be fair, it's probably because I had it right after the manna from the Gods, aka the chocolate cookie. The 5-star average rating for this place speaks for itself! I've been going to Joey Biscotti since it opened, and this place doesn't even need my review, but what the heck, I'll write one anyway! The guys who own this place are very nice. You truly can't go wrong with anything here, but my favorites are the cannolis and the crumb cake. They have a good variety of baked goods here, including some of the classics and more I guess you could say "upscale" or "fancy" dessert options. They have a lot of different biscotti options (obviously), cookies (I like the chocolate dipped peanut butter cookie), cakes, fudge, and a lot more, plus they have coffee. I created a yelp account just to write this review. This bakery is amazing! My family and I stumbled upon Joey Biscotti's via a few fabulous Yelp reviews. The space is tiny...not a sit-down place....but who cares...the food is perfection. During our first visit, we actually ate most of our haul in the car before we arrived at our dinner party. If you're a salted-caramel fan, I suggest you try the salted-caramel cheesecake bar....without a doubt, THE BEST salted-caramel anything I've ever eaten!! My daughter loved the Mutt cookie....it's a smash-up of everything that was ever meant to be in a cookie....butterscotch, semi sweet chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter, toffee....all in a dark chocolate cookie....yum.
