Yet another birthday celebration! All these "summer babies!" What a wonderful spot our friends recommended and met us at! I loved the red décor and photos all around of Joey P. and customers / celebrities that have dined there. Our friends valeted but we parked a street up. The pay by app made it very easy and I actually already had it downloaded. Since tomorrow will be my splurge day, tonight was just a Caesar salad with added shrimp. THIS SALAD WAS HUGE and had a plentiful amount of shrimp in it for sure! I ate almost the whole thing! It, along with the pastina soup, was well enough for me! All others had pasta and / or chicken dishes; huge portions! Everyone loved what they ordered : ) We were literally entertained the whole time by a really good duo - JUST IN TIME ~ a married couple named Joanne and Stu. They played music genres ranging from 50s - on. Joanne even sang Karen Carpenter, who is hard to sing. She did her proud! Great entertainment that even welcomed diners to come up and belt out a few! Been meaning to post this review from December 2025. We've been coming to Joey M's La Piazza Cucina every summer since 2023, and it's become a must do Wildwood tradition for us. We've also followed Joey for years, all the way back to his legendary infomercials. This was our first visit during the holiday season, and somehow it was just as great as summer, just in a different way... more intimate, more local, and still packed with energy. The food never misses. I had the Chicken Parm Fra Diavolo, and it was hands-down the best and spiciest version I've ever had. This thing is spicy! Equally a draw is the entertainment. Watching Joey take the stage with Tommy Cono (Tommy C) is what sets this place apart. Tommy is incredibly talented with the classics from the 50s, 60s, and beyond, and when Joey jumps in with Tommy, the whole room comes alive. It stops being a restaurant and turns into a full experience. Awesome food, live entertainment, and that true local feeling - this Joey M's feels like one big Italian family party in all the best ways. Last Sunday we had dinner at Joey M's LaPiazza Cucina. We shared appetizers - mozzarella tower and calamari. Both were delicious. The entrees we selected were Chicken Abruzi and Chicken Siciliano. I don't know what the star of the show was in the chicken Abruzi. It had equal parts moist, tender chicken but also large shrimp and scallops cooked to perfection. My husband had the Siciliano which he said he would order again and again -plentiful with lots of flavor. He even asked for extra bread to soak up the sauce. There was a constant flow of patrons but that did not faze Trisha, our server. She handled her full house with grace and ease and always with a smile. Cannolis for dessert Yum. My wife asked me on a Friday night would you like to go out to dinner? I said absolutely. She said let's try something new so we went to Joey M wow let's start off with no parking. OK got passed that went inside. Only one other couple was in the restaurant started reviewing the menu. Wow no prices we asked. They brought out a separate pricing sheet OK chicken Parm $34. Wow this must be awesome. The food came out now granite we only ordered one chicken Parm 2 cups of soup no drinks and the meal came to $60 including tip wow the chicken Parm at Best was OK tasted like it was beaten to a tender consistency didn't care for it looking at the menu. They have a seven dollar share charge. If there's someone on their little stage they charge each person additional three dollars really should've looked at the reviews before I came here. Looking back at the reviews over nine years a lot of bad reviews. To summit it up a very rundown somewhat like a restaurant food not very good pricing excessive wow so much better places on the island we won't be visiting here anymore. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I had a reservation! The wait time was ridiculous!! After an hour, we weren't offered water or anything. The food for our family was terrible. My clams and spaghetti sauce tasted burnt and the spaghetti was rubbery. My cousin's Fabiola Verdi appetizer of broccoli rabe, spinach, cannelloni beans was like soup with a piece of toast thrown on top. My other cousins ordered spaghetti and chicken parm and the other ordered gnocchi; and these pasta dishes were very very small in portions. To top things off we realized we were over charged for all of this (and even the bill was unreadable with $ dollar amounts scribbled all over the bill). We couldn't wait to leave!! What a night out. We arrived around 6 and the place was fairly full. We ordered our food and waited. Our waitress was nice but you couldn't catch her to ask for anything which was frustrating. She would drop the food and drinks on the table and be off again. (She was taking care of multiple tables so she wasn't just doing it to be nasty or anything). But I had an unsweetened ice tea that I couldn't remedy because she never stopped. Then a huge party came in with balloons and whatnot. The whole room was disrupted for this group and they were so loud on top of it. The room went from fairly quiet from almost yelling loud. You honesty couldn't hear yourself think. The tables were constantly being shuffled and maneuvered around as well for this new group. I felt like a musical number was about to break out or at least a game of musical chairs. Very distracting and annoying to say the least. Our food took a very long time to come out and we were honestly ready to go because the noise in there was crazy. We were literally here for an hour and had bread and salad. (And this is the offseason mind you). We got our food to go because the atmosphere was not inviting. The calamari for an appetizer was delicious, my penne alla vodka was delicious, but the baked ziti my dad got was not good. It was cold, dry, and baked in a pan and it was cut out in a square (and not to mention it was over 30 dollars). Every other dish we had was good but we thought for what we got, it was over priced. The butter for the rolls was also frozen and not spreadable. However, the staff was super friendly and did correct the issues with the baked ziti. Tommy C. a crooner in the classic style, Sinatra tunes and other old favs from the '50s. Never heard him before but he has tremendous range. He is in Vegas next week. The place is tight but comfy. Many patrons are regulars and know each other. The owner Joey stopped by and sang a few tunes with Tommy C. Our meal started off rocky as it is now a byob and we were uninformed so had to hoof it over to a local liquor store for a few bottles of wine. All proceeded well afterwards. Florina was our server a delightful Romanian gal. I ordered Puttanesca. It was quite wonderful. Possibly the best I ever had. The anchovies were toasty and the sauce was fabulous. Much soaking of bread with the sauce. We actually over stayed our meal as we were enjoying the show. The hostess told us not to worry - very accommodating. My wife had the A Bruzzi which was a chicken, shrimp and scallop dish in a light cream sauce. Everyone enjoyed their respective dishes. We were a group of six at a round table. We danced a bit. We came here one night after a long day of driving to the shore. The staff is very friendly and we sat down right away. We ordered the Sicilian calamari as an appetizer and really enjoyed it. My girlfriend had the special of the night with shrimp, scallops and linguini. I had a seafood pasta and we both enjoyed our entrees. The bottle of red we ordered was also good. A hidden gem! Recommend this place for true authentic Italian cuisine. For appetizers, we had the grilled octopus over a fennel and orange "slaw." The octopus was grilled to perfection. The rice balls were different: more link a round mozzarella ball. Also good. For dinner, the ravioli with gravy and meatballs were great. Although not on the menu, they made an entree of eggplant parmigiana with a side of spaghetti for me. Very good. This pace is BYOB, but there is a bar next door and you can get drinks and bring them in through the side door that's right off the dining room. Outside seating also available. Not going to get in an argument on what Italian Restaurant is the best in Wildwood because there are a few. However, Joey Ms is & always will be at the top of that list! What I love most about La Piazza is they will make your meal the way you want it! Spicy, not spicy, somewhere in the middle....they won't just do it, they will do it perfectly! Also, rare for Wildwood is that La Piazza doesn't just welcome big families, they caterer to big families. They enjoy seeing a big group enjoy their food! La Piazza is another BYOB establishment but if you forget, they will gladly go to the bar next door & make sure you are set! read more

This place is a JOKE and a scam artist!! I purchased a gift card as a Christmas gift for my parents back in November. They took my money and I was told I would receive the gift cards in the mail. It is now 12/26/24 and I have not received anything. Christmas has come and gone and I had no present for my parents because of this situation. As if this is not bad enough- I was trying to be proactive about the situation and had reached out to the establishments MULTIPLE times via phone call and email. I have yet to get any sort of response aside from talking to a waitress who obviously could not help me because this is beyond her control. To say I am highly disappointed would be an understatement. The gift card I purchased was worth $100 plus a shipping fee- this was not an inexpensive gift and it is something I never even received. The lack of customer service here outweighs how good their food may be. This establishment is blatantly scamming people out of money for goods that are never received. I would NEVER recommend patronizing this establishment. My family used to frequent this place often but since this situation happening we will obviously not be returning. They have lost out on customers who have been coming here for years all because they can not make right on their promises. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy and I hope to save someone else the same headache. read more

Second time here and we were disappointed with both the service and our meals. We Dined outside on new front deck which was very nice , viewed menu which was impressive but strangely no prices listed at all. Started out with a semi stale roll basket and ordered the Cioppino on a bed of fettuccine , looked very impressive when being served on large platter and piled high in mussels, but once I dug into it , the more disappointed I became. Mussels were fresh but skimpy and there was very little other shell fish in it ,but the broth was very tasty. My date ordered the salmon, it was delivered to her raw, we waited for the waitress to return to see how our meal was and never saw her again until it was time to clear the table. My Mom heard good things about this restaurant so our family of 4 made a reservation for our last night down the shore. We order fried calamari... after 30 minutes of waiting, we were served what seemed to be the bottom of the bag of frozen bits deep fried and greasy. Could barely find any actual calamari amongst the batter. After complaining, we waited for another batch for at least 15 minutes. At that point we also received the kids chicken tender platter. We cut the chickens in half to find them completely raw inside. The fries were white and barely cooked as well. At this point, we offered to pay for our wine, (which they compensated nicely...) and told the manager/hostess that we were leaving. We heard great things about this place, but unfortunately our first (and most likely last) time there was very disappointing. The four of us arrived at 6:30 p.m. and things started out okay. Our water glasses were filled and our wine was uncorked immediately. The server wasn't overly friendly, but we don't expect everyone to always be upbeat and welcoming (so we didn't think much of it). Strike one: Our mussel appetizer in spicy red sauce was probably the worst we've ever had. There was nothing spicy about it, and we didn't see any specks of herbs, onions, or garlic in it. Literally looked and tasted like someone opened a small can of tomato sauce and poured it on some steamed mussels. Strike two: Our salads were served at the same time our appetizer came out, which is not okay. A positive: Our entrees were pretty good with the exception of one shrimp dish, which was very salty. Strike three: After we finished our meals and our table was cleared, we decided not to order dessert and to just finish the wine in our glasses before heading out. It was 7:45 p.m at this point. Considering we got there at 6:30, it was a very quick dinner. Then all of a sudden, the lights in the dining room were turned off, and we were sitting in the dark. I looked over at the hostess stand, and there was our server standing with her arms crossed while glaring at us. She obviously wanted us to leave, but instead of nicely telling us that they were closing at 8 p.m. and allowing us those 15 minutes to finish the last few sips of our wine, she took the low road and stared at us with her arms crossed like an angry teenager (note that she was not a teenager). Of course, this was after she already collected her tip, which was more than 20%. Luckily, there are numerous restaurants in the area to choose from. So we'll continue to frequent the ones that treat their customers with respect and have managers who don't condone such behavior by their employees. read more

Located in the up and returning section of Pacific Ave in Wildwood, Joey M's has moved for the 2018 season and offer a classy dining room and delicious food. Plenty of street parking, or take advantage of the complimentary valet parking. The food here shines, the sauce has a bit of a kick with just a little kick and was scrumptious. The gnocchi is so good and available with homemade sauce or with a scampi style sauce and spinach, both are amazing. The veal parmigiana is also prepared perfectly. Service is average, but the hostess is happy to help and let the servers know you are needed. all entrees include a house salad and warm rolls. So all this leads to a five star review, here was my negative, and had me leave the four star review. The courtyard between Joey M's and Cattle & Clover has a live band or DJ, and full bar but every time the side door opens (which is often, from servers or guests) loud music blasts into the dining room. We didn't enjoy this, I wish that during these events the side door wasn't used. We'll be back, but maybe come earlier to avoid this and if you grab a coupon they offer an Early Bird of buy one entree get one free! Definitely come and mangia! read more
