Found this place on Yelp. It did not disappoint at all. Very friendly staff and the fish & chips were outstanding!! I would definitely check this little place out if in the area. It's not super dance but the prices are fair and the food is great!!

2 piece Halibut fish and chips & blackend salmon with ceasar salad.

The best Fish (Halibut) & Chips Ive ever had. I also love their light choices, blackend salmon with ceasar salad.

Fish and chips, can substitute for Cesar salad

It has a main counter section of fresh fish with all the usuals but also has some hard to get fish like ahi tuna, mahi mahi, swordfish, Chilean sea bass, octopi, live lobsters and blue marlin. Less rare and more traditional choices available to buy include salmon, snapper, halibut, mussels, oysters and clams. They have a wall at the back of the shop lined with stand up freezers with everything frozen with some additional choices to the fresh side like salted cod, smoked eels, monkfish. They also have a small open fridge with meats and sausages from Canmore's Valabella line, the pates are excellent! The one downside to NSFM is the prices, if the local superstore has the same thing your after which if it's the usual seafood you can probably save a few dollars, but if your after something a bit different then these might just have what your looking for but will cost you a little more! On the whole if you like seafood and want a treat then your sure to find something at NSFM, the staff are friendly and helpful with a good knowledge of everything seafood related.

I have purchased tuna, sablefish, halibut, crabcakes, mussels, and arctic char. Never disappointed with the quality. I wish these options were more reasonably priced, but I believe that they are on par with the market value. The nice unique salts and tartars are a treat too. Definitely worth trying out and enjoying the non-grocery salmon or basa standard!

I enjoyed my cocktail, Garden of Aphrodite, which was $5 off for Thirsty Thursday. They also gave me a free scoop of gelato with a sparkler for my birthday which was nice. While we did not sit outdoors, they seem to have a nice outdoor area as well. The food was good, nothing groundbreaking, but everything I wanted. I had the chicken souvlaki which was tender and seasoned very well. I really enjoyed the garlic potatoes it came with. We shared the saganaki, which they were able to make gluten free, and the Greek salad as appetizers. The salad seemed very fresh and was a nice way to start the meal. I had the Greek spritz to drink and enjoyed it. Very refreshing and light. One of the people I was with got the baklava for dessert and really enjoyed it. It is served with a brown sugar gelato that he raved about. Overall, I would definitely come back to this spot. Our server was kind and attentive and the food was everything I had hoped it would be.

The family had a craving for sushi and we were around the Chinook/Macleod Trail area so found this…read morerestaurant. It's in a mixed use area of residential and commercial. There was plenty of parking. The place is not very big and we had to wait a few minutes for a table to open up before we were seated. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. We ordered the Atlantic Salmon Sashimi, Albacore Tuna Sashimi, Saba Sashimi, Tropic Rush Roll, California Roll, Veggie Tempura, and House Green Salad. Everything was super fresh and tasted great. The family really enjoyed the meal. The staff were friendly. There is a QR code that you get the menu and you can order off the site (create account) or let the staff know what you want to order. I think the restaurant is better for couples, friends, or business meetings. There was nothing wrong for our family but just the vibe and ambience I think caters to more intimate setting. Prices also were more expensive so bringing a family with big appetites could set you back. We had a great time and enjoyed the food.

Ever since trying pressed sushi for the first time at Vancouver's Miku, one of the first things I…read moredo every time I sit down to plan a trip to Canada is research the city's best oshizushi spot. Big Catch's menu immediately enticed me with the extensive selection offered, and was one of the most anticipated meals of our trip. We started off the meal with their house made yuzu-infused ginger beer, which was refreshingly light, citrusy and officially takes the cake for my favorite ginger beer of all time. As you can see from the photos, the painstaking attention to detail and pride that they have in their craft shines through in the dazzlingly aesthetic sushi pieces that are *almost* too pretty to eat. I was literally giddy seeing the plate come out because of how beautiful everything looked. To start off, I would highly recommend the Madai Nigiri, a delicately sweet red sea bream that is perfect to kick off your meal before digging into the special rolls. The menu offers a pretty extensive selection of rolls with a variety of protein options (wagyu, Miso-braised pork and mushrooms in addition to the standard fish). Everything we got was incredibly tasty (Autumn Haze, Magic Mushroom, Iron Goddess, Saba Blaze) but the most memorable standout was the Magic Mushroom, which comes with 4 different kinds of Japanese mushrooms topped with a bomb truffle sauce, making for an exquisite little bundle of umami that may be one of the best vegan rolls I've ever had. To finish off our delicious meal, we got the sweet potato panna cotta, which checked off all the boxes: unique, not-too-sweet and portioned just right for sharing. Service is top notch and the hostesses and servers are all incredibly sweet. Our bill came with a personalized, hand-written punny note and adorable drawing, which was a nice quirky touch to make our meal even more memorable. This charming little restaurant absolutely deserves a spot on every sushi lover's Calgary itinerary (online takeout is available and popular but I have to insist you dine in for dinner)!
