Tried this place for Chaat and it was perfect! We got their Samosa Chaat and it was made really well. Perfectly spiced samosa, topped with Chole and chutneys, this was a super hit. On weekends they tend to get super busy and the wait time is pretty insane but as long as you order and hop on to another food truck around, you should be able to get your meal while you enjoy a snack. Part of the many food trucks around that area, Jonah does have amazing Chole. So anything with Chole is a great order. We had the most terrible experience today at this food truck. We literally placed our order at 8:14 and finally after many reminders and polite asks got it at 9:10 pm We had ordered- paneer wrap and chicken wrap. Both were below average in taste. In fact some of the ingredients were stale. They were not even hot. Luke warm at best. Someone had highly recommended this place and that's why we decided to try it out. Never again!! Very unapologetic and rude staff. Please same your money and time - go to the other two food trucks next to it or pick any thing else on El Camino. I understand most of the food is usually pre-prepared, but isn't there a concept of like fresh tadka just before the order or warm it up a bit etc.? I'm sorry folks but I need to take a star off. Let me start by saying the food is still just as INCREDIBLE as all the other times. In fact their Shahi Paneer with Kulcha has gotten EVEN better (See pic). But service wise it was such a let down. We were a group and ordered, the food for some of our group showed up while the rest of us just stared at them eating, by the time the food for the other half of the group arrived everyone else had finished eating. The chai came at the very end. And while waiting we saw orders of people far ahead in line being fulfilled which was frustrating. It seemed like one them was a friend of the owner's so they jumped the line for food delivery. Anyway ended up being a poor experience for the group. I really hope that they take a step back and invest in the logistics of order management. I've been one of their patrons for the longest time and I wish them the best. read more

Great spot for Amritsari kulcha (fluffy soft wheat bread filled with onions/potatoes/spices) and chana (garbanzo beans curry)! I especially love their *extremely spicy* onion kulcha! It is dark red on the inside because of all the spices and I loved it! We've also tried their shahi paneer, vada pav and pani puri - all of them were flavorful and we enjoyed each of these dishes! It is a food truck and there's no place to sit nearby so some people sit in the trunks of their parked cars eating food! It's an incredible experience. I'm not a fan of their lemonade, I thought it'll be freshly made but it was bottled lemonade served in plastic glasses. The staff there seems to be a family and are all respectful older men, who are very kind and always helpful! I asked for more dahi and guy over there denied saying it already has it. Also on tasting it, it was stale. I found this one to be one of the better "chaat" places in the bay area more so because their food wasn't as spicy. My personal recommendations include the "bhel puri" and "dahi paapdi chaat". Oh my goodness! Wishing we had more of these foodtruck-types in San Diego. Took me right back to India before even stepping up to order any of the food! Ordered the Amritsari Kulcha as well as the chole, in addition to the kulcha+paneer. The kulcha was a bit spicy for my liking, but both the sides were flavored well and were cooked well. The kulcha was soft and buttery and the stuffing was extremely flavorful and tasted just like the kulcha you would eat back in India. The buttered portions that were crispy on the kulcha were my favorite! :) The road-side feel of this food truck was great. Wish they had more seating, but you can come prepared with beach chairs (which is what our friends told us to do!) - and we had no problem enjoying the food while people-watching! read more

More like 3.5, we had the kulche with cholay which this place is apparently famous for. The bread has filling in it and the chickpea curry was good by t not mind blowing. I haven't had a whole lot of kulche so don't know much about it but was definitely on the drier side for my liking. The sev batata puri was really tasty, picture attached. The only problem with this area is the lack of seating, I saw people bring camping chairs, would definitely recommend that. Tried their amritsari kulcha and paneer last week , nothing special ,it was average at best as kulcha shud be stuffed like a "turkey on thanksgiving" and have stuffings falling out but their kulcha was slim trim with not whole lot of fillings. The paneer was just chunks of cheese floating in gravy with no flavor of paneer. Other items 1.pani puri- meh.. 2.bread pakora/paneer pakora-good 3 Gulabjamun- microwaved?from indian store? 4.malai kulfi -$5 for small ,was good but kinda pricey for small one. My original intention was to head to the Pav Bhaji (butter hawaiin bun-like bread and stir-friend veggies) food truck, one of 4 food trucks parked adjacent to each other, and then I saw Johal's fresh Indian food truck. I am so glad I decided to skip pav bhaji and instead try this food truck. I asked the gentleman at the counter for his recommendation and he mentioned the Amritsari Kulcha (flatbread with flavorful stuffing) and Shahi paneer (cottage cheese in cream sauce), a special. I liked the sound of that but I also wanted to try the Chhole (chickpea stew). Luckily the counter staff manager agreed to let me try both the curries. As there isn't any table or place to sit down, except perhaps at the counter of the food truck, I made the order to go. The food blew my mind. I didn't expect the food truck to dish something so flavorful for a reasonable price. Also the food is ready within 7 minutes. The Amritsari Kulcha was soft, the right hint of spiciness and was a perfect complement to the curries. It's baked to order, so you aren't getting Costco naan (nothing wrong that with) but you get all the goodness of bespoke Punjabi cuisine. Shahi paneer had cottage cheese that was soft, fresh and a cream sauce full of flavor that you scoop up with that delicious Kulcha. Chhole as pointed out by some folks is a little watery, but that's not a bad thing. The chickpeas were soft, had the right amount of flavor and hit the right notes. You know a place is authentic when you get a small container with pickle, onion and lemon. I mixed it with the chole for that umami flavor. This is a great addition to the food truck scene in South Bay. I will be pack to try the chaat and on a hot day, maybe the Kulfi (Indian ice cream dessert). read more
