A large group of us (8) went to this spacious, welcomingvand very clean restaurant in their Mountain View location. Although they were quite busy, we were promptly seated. Water was served quickly and the staff was attentive -- in other words they had enough people to service their patrons. The food was excellent with creative fusion of various cuisines. The cajun paneer tikka that I got was very good with the Cajun spices expressing itself nicely. The more traditional dishes such as Rabadi patties reminded me of the food I used to eat frequently more than 30 years ago! All in all a great experience. read more

My favorite place for Indian lunch or dinner especially when I have to bring guests for celebration. Chaat Bhavan has an ever growing menu and sets the bar for consistent good quality dishes. Their chats, appetizers like panner tikka and long list of entres. I love their panner tikka, kofta curies, chole bhature and many more. In the area for our dental appt, and wanted to try a new spot. Omgosh! The four of us (all vegetarians) have found our new favorite Mountain View restaurant! The restaurant is so pretty inside and so clean! Parking is easy, even on a busy Friday evening, we found parking easily. The restrooms are really clean and the service is really professional and water refills - they are really on it! Good food but some unusual service to note. I did find it odd I was discouraged from ordering a November special, server said it's not good lol. Appreciate the heads up but why offer something if it's not good . Appreciate the honest though I ordered a drink, appetizer and entree and assumed it would arrive on that order. TLDR: Great spot for no frills vegetarian indian food; reliable taste, decent portion sizes but definitely rich/greasy. Came here back to back 2 nights in row - the first night we tried some of their seasonal specials and their bhel thaali. Their bhel thaali was great lot of options. My favorite Indian restaurant with so many delicious dishes to choose from. Bonus is that it's all vegetarian with a handful of vegan items. I believe this location is one of their newer openings. I'd say they're all consistently tasty but my favorites that I always get are the malai paneer, pani puri, and spicy Hakka noodles. Great place to go with a group so that you can try different dishes and the wait is short. I've been to many of their chains in various locations with no issue but not sure why this time we had a waitress who gave us a lot of attitude-- to the point my friend was too intimidated to order more food. Stopped by to try a variety of dishes, and overall it was a good experience. We ordered the snack combo, which included pani poori and sev poori. Both were fresh and delicious, though fairly similar in taste. Still, a great way to kick things off. We also tried the chili paneer and manchow soup, and both delivered. The chili paneer had good flavor, and the soup was comforting and tasty. The only miss for us was the chai, which was unfortunately pretty underwhelming compared to everything else. Service was prompt and efficient, which we always appreciate. Overall, a good spot with plenty more on the menu I'd like to explore. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes. read more

I didn't have many expectations for Chaat Bhavan. I was just looking for a quick lunch in the strip mall I happened to be in. The first thing I noticed was it was was fancier and more formal than I expected. I was just in workout clothes, so I felt a bit underdressed, but they didn't seem to care. The place was packed around 2 or 3 pm on a weekday, so service wasn't terribly fast. I saw a lot of people getting the thali, so I went for that too. It was a great decision. As with most thalis, the portion was massive, and it would probably feed two people. Unlike most other thalis, I love that it included a sampling of their desserts! It's vegetarian food, but it's so varied and filling, that meat eaters won't be disappointed. Prices weren't crazy considering the large portion, and there's plenty of parking since it's in a charmless strip mall. I'll definitely be back! read more

Went to this restaurant three days ago. I have heard a lot about this place, but I feel it is kind of overhyped. I tried their batata Sari, which was OK then tried the Rajma, which was not that flavorful was decent then had their chili cheese none which was good really like that the service was good as well. I had the hakka noodles for lunch from a work delivery service, they were pretty good. Noodles were very tasty but would have been better if there was more vegetables, it was like 80-90% noodles.
